The rhythmic pacing of their footsteps echoed casually through emptied alleyways, the occasional piece of litter lining the walls looked upon momentarily by Aeson in passing before returning his eyes forward.

The conversation between him and the man he had accompanied was of nothing other than a brief catching up of sorts with the gentleman, the two having a back and forth about each of their respective lives before Aeson shifted the conversation to the reason he had been called here in the first place.

“So… the voice asks you red or blue right? Do you plan on taking a picture of a voice? Or are you going to take a picture of the thing that tries to jump us? Maybe the scenery? And reeling back, if this thing attacks us, would you like a picture before or after I’ve taken care of it?”

If they were to be attacked Aeson was more than confident in his ability to quickly handle whatever it was that had shown itself to them whether it be man or otherwise. He could only imagine the reason he was called to accompany Spencer in the first place was because he knew how reliable of a person he was.

Casually he would set his arms to the side, a hand hovering over his ball clip as they continued forward.

"You can't take a picture of a sound, you idiot," Spencer says, eyes rolling so far back they threaten to disappear into his head. Camera around his neck, he walks beside Aeson, eyes alert. "I just wanna see what's up, is all."

He had heard people whispering about a mysterious presence in these alleys and Spencer, despite his boss telling him no when he brought it up, decided it was up to him to investigate. Not stupid enough to go alone (not that he was scared or anything, because he definitely wasn't that would be lame, but just in case), he'd asked Aeson to join him.

"Besides, chances are it's all bullshit anyway and we won't hear anyth — "

He stops mid-sentence, freezing in place, when he does hear something, cold air sending a shiver up his spine. His eyes flicker to Aeson, then to the dark alleyway ahead of them.

“It’s called sarcasm, Spencer. You would know that if your observational skills were half as decent as you may think they are.”

Though he was not entirely at fault for assuming differently, the cadence of Aeson’s voice was a bit droning at times.

When he furthered on with his explanation, Aeson was less than intrigued, choosing to once more observe the surroundings, halting for a moment as a chill ran up his back, darkness engulfing the path ahead. A sound rang through his head, his mind too busy trying to come to a conclusion to what it may be to pin down exactly what it was.

Soon enough he would forgo thinking and release an Absol, stepping forward slightly as the silver coated pokemon stood at the ready before Aeson. It was ready to detect any such threats and act on them as they appeared.

As luck- or lack of any such myths- may have it, a figure did not trudge from the shadows, simply leaving itself enveloped within the darkness ahead, its voice bellowing in a raspy tone as it called out.

“Red or Blue?”

Aeson looked over his shoulder, giving a glimpse to Spencer for a moment before turning back to the darkness.

“Red.”

He answered in a confident tone, the lead stripped from Spencer before there was even a moment to consult the man. Aeson was the one that was called to escort him after all; the decision making was thought- no, known to be in his hands.

The voice asks red or blue and before Spencer can take a second to think about it, he hears Aeson answer: "Red."

"Aeson," he hisses, shooting the other a disapproving glare like one would give a child when they did something wrong. "You can't just answer the mystery voice without discussing the options first!" He sighs, throwing his hands in the air as he wonders: why is he always the only person with a semblance of common sense?

"Fine, red, I guess," he answers as well, still glaring at Aeson from the corner of his eyes to show that he's not exactly happy with the choice.

A CURIOUS LOOP FORMS IN THE AIR before it enlarges dramatically. a snicker accompanies the expansion as a CHARIZARD is seemingly tossed out like it were nothing. as the loop closes, the snicker seems to echo as the charizard, confused and now, terrified by the non sequitur of its destination, attacks the first thing it sees: you two.[break][break]

Aeson gulps hard, the sudden appearance of a Charizard almost catching him off guard. He made no sudden moves, but the Charizard, just as confused as he was, lashed out; a flamethrower shooting from its muzzle.

“Jyes-”

Before he could finish giving a command, the pokemon launched itself at them within the flames, its body enveloped as it propelled itself forward, flare blitzing towards the two.

“Shit.”

He whispered under his breath as he gave a tap to his belt, an Aggron releasing from a pokeball and forming a protective barrier in front of the man, staggering the Charizard for a moment.

“Did you get a picture of that ring thing?”

Aeson ask back to Spencer, looking over his shoulder as he half pays attention to the battle before them.

"Oh shit," Spencer whispers, eyes growing wider when the Charizard appears in front of them. He fumbles with his camera, raising it to snap a picture. He then shoots Aeson a thumbs up. "Got it."

Letting go of the camera, the only thing catching it from falling the strap around his neck, Spencer reaches for a pokeball only for a soft, panicked laugh to slip from his lips when he realizes he has nothing useful. He sends out Gengar anyway, figuring it's better than nothing.

"Alright, so," he begins, "let's not get burnt to a crisp."
