His first encounter was with an Excadrill, which was a good find. He released his Swampert to do battle with the Subterrene Pokémon. It might be faster than the mud fish but with his bulk he’d be able to weather the storm. First Samuel ordered Lagoon to pepper the Excadrill with a series of Mud Shots.

The Excadrill was quick to begin moving, doing its best to avoid the Swamperts attacks, though some of them landed despite the mole’s best efforts. It counterattacked, closing in the distance quickly and striking with a Metal Claw attack. Lagoon took the hit without much of a fight as now that the Excadrill could be grabbed by the Swampert giving it nowhere to run.

Samuel then ordered for a Muddy Water, an attack that did quite the number on the Excadrill. Enough so that the Pokémon was ready for capture and with a simple toss of an empty capsule towards the Excadrill the deal would be sealed.
