“Why would I blow up the Space Station? Tell that to the weird alien I just caught!” he exclaimed, walking over as he picked up the fallen Pokéball that now contained one very angry Claydol.[break][break]

Just as he had pocketed the latest acquisition, two more Pokémon appeared—and they were familiar sights, from home![break][break]

Was Unova expanding her reach out to this faraway place where he had fled? He had no idea.[break][break]

“Whoa, how the hell did that Gurdurr get in here…” he exclaimed, whistling at his Salamence’s direction. “Drive it back outside! Yeesh… we can’t have the entire place collapsing down on us now can we?” he added a few moments later.[break][break]

The Gurdurr prepared himself to throw the steel beam he was holding, but a controlled stream of flames from the Salamence’s maw made the other Pokémon change its mind as the steel heated up to uncomfortable temperatures. “Go on, shoo!” Alexei called out, waving his arms around in a silly manner, trying to send the Gurdurr back out from whence it had come.[break][break]

Another stink-eyed glare from the Salamence made the Gurdurr flee for the hills… or, just the outside of the Space Center, really.

capture attempt on vanillish!

THEME

After the capture was successful and Adelaide thought the coast was clear, she picked up the now occupied pokéball before returning Papaya to hers. "You did great, Paya! Get some rest now, 'kay?" When Alexei shifted the blame to the Claydol after capturing it, she shot him a glare. "The poor thing was probably just scared! So of course it's your responsibility to make sure this place doesn't blow up!" She retorted.

Unfortunately, their conversation was soon cut short by the appearance of even more wild intruders! With her brother and his Salamence focused on the big Gurdurr, which made Addy wonder whether it had been working on construction some other place in the building, she turned her attention to a Vanillish that had come out of an open air duct in the ceiling. Reaching for a pokéball, she was quick to throw it and summon her Fan Rotom, RX-78:

"BZZZT!"

It blew an immediate gust of wind out from the fan it was possessing, deflecting the Icicle Spears the Vanillish was quick to fire at its ghostly opponent. "Now, Thunder Wave! Then Hex!" Adelaide commanded, watching as the fan charged up a ball of electricity in its fan before blasting it with great speed towards the ice cream cone. It struck successfully, at which point the floating ice cream cone flinched and staggered from the sky as an electrical current ran throughout its body and paralyzed it.

Before it could manage to do anything else, RX-78 summoned a ghostly eye from its fan that intensified its glare on the Vanillish and weakened it. Before it had to endure any real pain, Addy was quick to throw a ball!

“No need to get mad at me!” Alexei yelped, thank the hell he was able to drive the Gurdurr back outside—it had most likely gotten lost inside the Space Center.[break][break]

Wait, since when did they have Gurdurr poking around the area? Wasn’t the Space Center mostly fixed? Maybe it was someone’s Pokémon that had gotten loose. Either way, he turned his head to watch her deal with the ‘ice cream cone’—what, that was what the Vanillish was![break][break]

A living, sentient, ice cream cone![break][break]

Recalling the Salamence, he then whistles before the Ribombee returns to him—having flitted away for the time being. He thought he saw the shadow of something dart by, but paid it no attention—surely it was just something that had gotten lost and was trying to find its way back outside.[break][break]

That was, until… the ground began to tremble.

Outside one of the double-doors of the space station, where a park and picnic area resided for the workers and their families, a Stonjourner suddenly came to life amidst the other rocks of a zen garden there. It stomped around as if confused and agitated, prompting Adelaide to swiftly grab the ball with the now captured Vanillish before running over to the double-doors and gesturing RX-78 to follow her closely. "Be right back, Lexy! Don't cause any more trouble here, 'kay?" She requested before moving beyond.

The Stonjourner immediately settled into a Wide Guard when it heard the sound of the nearby doors opening. Adelaide had just finished putting one love ball away, before retrieving an empty one from her purse, as it shifted over to face her. "Hey, hey, hey! Careful! You'll ruin the sand art." She nodded, hiding the ball behind her back with one hand before pointing down at the designs carved into the sand with a stick. When the Stonjourner dropped its guard and looked down, she tossed the ball at it with a giggle.

He could only blink and stare as his sister ran off to… deal with the strange… whoa. What the actual hell was that?!

Blinking, he could only watch in silent wonder as she handled the situation outside—but the way the door had been left open, a loud screeching noise announced its arrival…

“Oh, come on?!” he groaned as he saw a Skarmory zoom in and make like a madman towards the magazine stands. How was he going to handle this when he was explicitly forbidden to destroy things? Oh, great—well, he hoped Addy wouldn’t get mad at him later for this.

Spinning a Pokéball on his fingertips, he then threw it forward and recalled his Salamence forward—while the Ribombee on his shoulder let out a little noise of protest.

“Yes, yes, Carina, I know, no wrecking anything—but he’s the only one who can handle that!” he said to the tiny Pokémon on his shoulders as the Salamence’s Intimidate kicked in and caused the Skarmory to fall back a few… paces. If one could call that ‘paces’.

Without warning the Skarmory then steered off-course and charged right at the Salamence in a completely and utterly reckless Brave Bird maneuver!

“Drive it out!” he cried as the Salamence veered backwards before releasing a Flamethrower attack—a concentrated, controlled blast of heat left the draconid’s maw as the incoming Skarmory literally flew right into the heart of the attack.

“Again! Drive it back outside!” he added and a second Flamethrower was more than enough to send the Skarmory packing.

Now… where had Addy gone off to?

A Leafeon that had made its home in the garden had begun to sneak its way past while Adelaide retrieved the ball containing the strange rock golem. When the doors to the space station burst open and a flaming Skarmory emerged from it in full screech, however, the poor feline cowered and ran to hide itself between two boulders. Adelaide had turned around just in time to witness this. She put away the Stornjourner and proceeded to slowly and calmly approach the makeshift den the Leafeon had taken cover in.

"Hey, you," She softly spoke, crouching down to try and meet eyes with it. "It's okay; the danger is gone now. C'mere." The pink-haired lass smiled, turning over her shoulder when she saw Alexei open the doors and approach. Holding a single finger up to her mouth in a whisper, she returned her attention back to the Leafeon before long. This time, however, she slowly unclipped an empty love ball and held it out to it. "Maybe you'd feel safer with me? In this ball?"

Shortly after the Leafeon had accepted her offer and entered her ball, however, another scared little sweetheart stumbled out! Right into Adelaide, in fact, nearly knocking her over as she was bent down. When she regained her balance, laughing it off, the pink-haired woman scooped the oddly-coloured Spinda into her arms and held it out for her to see. It appeared drunk and in its own world. How freaking adorableeee.

"Did you want to come, too?" She giggled, pulling it back in for a snuggle. "Don't you worry! The 'Addy Express' hasn't left quite yet!" She assured him.

After he’d shooed the Skarmory down and out of the Space Center, he… well, crap.

There was a round, pink Pokémon that had managed to slip in—and if he was seeing things right, was it holding a marker pen? What the fresh hell?!

Oh no, he thought as he whistled a sharp note once, and pointed at the Jigglypuff.

He was going to change that.

The first thing that the Jigglypuff did was some hilarious attempt at a Body Slam attack, puffing itself up before dropping the marker pen and trying to leap up at the Salamence. To this, the draconid let out a bark of laughter before taking a deep breath and exhaling a concentrated blast of flames.

“Careful now!” he yelped as he recognized the Flamethrower attack. As the Jigglypuff obviously missed, it got caught in the sudden burst of flames before shrieking and hopping away before releasing a powerful scream in the form of a Hyper Voice attack.

Growling in displeasure, the Salamence repeated the Flamethrower maneuver, peppering it with flames until it had rolled—tumbled—fumbled over the marker pen and came to a stop at Alexei’s feet, singed to all hell.

“Wow,” was all he said before he dropped a Pokéball atop the burned Jigglypuff.
