The Corviknight cab had stopped at a small island in the middle of the ocean to rest and eat lunch, so Sigmund had decided to use the down time to bond with his newest capture: Quagsire. A Quagsire he had just named Burrito after, well... after it ate his burrito. Regardless of his aching stomach, however, the blonde didn't let that get in the way of his budding friendship with the dopey amphibian. They made faces at each other on the sandy beach; elongated mouths and wiggling tongues.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them for the moment, a Pokémon observed them quietly. Whether from the nearby greenery, cliffs, or sea, this Pokémon would eventually make itself known. It wanted to be a part of, well... whatever these two were doing. It was so unusual as to be irresistibly interesting... at least for now. But what would happen when that interest inevitably ran dry?

golduck capture attempt

A Golduck had emerged from the ocean to protect its beach from a potential invader! Sigmund's Quagsire had noticed it first, and opened its wide maw with a low groan as the Golduck drew closer. Sigmund heard that low groan and rushed to his partner's side when he noticed the Golduck next. "We've been here two seconds and already you're making friends, huh?" He sarcastically laughed, smirking as he focused on the Golduck.

The Golduck, in the meantime, bent its knees as it drew out its claws and hissed at the Quagsire. "Looks like it's getting ready for a Fury Swipes, Burrito! Counter with Slam!" Sigmund ordered, his hazel eyes focused wholeheartedly on the Golduck as it suddenly darted forward. Burrito, however, did as he was told and swung his thick, massive tail in the bipedal duck's direction. With one decisive slam, the Golduck was sent flying sideways until it struck a boulder just off-shore. By the time it staggered onto both feet again, Sigmund had already thrown a pokéball.
