After that sizzling encounter with the weird-looking… centipede? It looked like a centipede to him at least—Alexei continued to poke around the area close to Lavaridge Town.[break][break]

He knew he was short on time, but here he was hoping, watching—hoping, waiting, for at least something that he was looking for to appear![break][break]

Look, honestly, I don’t care if it’s the Fire-type Oricorio, or even that weird bunny-looking thing… I just want it! Or a Ponyta! He thought, looking around frantically. Even if the place was in proximity to Mount Chimney, it was still snowing like crazy around the area—thankfully, with the heat rising up from the ground it wasn’t too cold.[break][break]

But it made the melting snow absolutely mucky when he felt his boots crunch against the ground.[break][break]

The chase—well, it was going to come to a bit of an early end, surprisingly.[break][break]

Not too far ahead, Alexei caught sight of a flash of whirling flame—was there something up ahead? Surely flames did not dance around like that in seemingly coordinated time…[break][break]

Coordinated?[break][break]

His brain did a double take as he approached slowly, hoping not to startle the lone ‘dancer’ practicing amidst the snowfall. The movements were too practiced to be just random—little did he know he was going to encounter an Oricorio in the middle of its Revelation Dance as he came closer to observe the avian in the middle of its fiery dance.[break][break]

Making sure not to disturb it, he watched, entranced, as the sassy dual-type draws to a close—and suddenly spots him. Letting out a cry of surprise, he quickly holds up his hands to show that there’s nothing in them.[break][break]

“I—s-sorry if I snuck up on you. It—it wasn’t my intention at all. I was… watching you,” he stammered. Great. He was talking to a Pokémon who probably didn’t understand him at all. Sighing, he tried again.[break][break]

“I didn’t mean to scare you,” he added a few moments later, slowly backing away to allow the Oricorio more room. “Sorry…”[break][break]

But instead of running away, the Oricorio instead comes closer. Approaching him. Staring right at him with fire in its eyes.[break][break]

“You—you’re not afraid of me?” he inquired quietly, looking at the Pokémon. For each step he took backward, this one moved forward—at least until they were so close to each other. Was it… did he really smell of birds? Or was there something else that was drawing the Oricorio closer to him?[break][break]

“Are you…sure?” he asked uncertainly, before the avian started dancing again, his eyes following its every movement. Seeing that the human was watching her, she continues to dance. Faster, faster and kicking up more flames in a brilliant display of fire.[break][break]

Unknowingly, he continued to watch the Oricorio until it came to a stop—to which he applauded once the Pokémon was finished dancing.[break][break]

“I—I have someone you can dance with. You should see her. Totally energetic,” he stammered, referencing his other Oricorio back in Fortree. “Are you sure you want to come with me?”[break][break]

A few moments pass…before the Oricorio nodded his way.[break][break]

“Absolutely sure?”[break][break]

Another firm nod in response.[break][break]

Well, who was he to deny?
