A flashing shadow overhead made Alexei look up.

To his disappointment (and relief), it was a Woobat.

Even if the fur looked a little… stranger than usual, he shook his head. He already had a Swoobat to contend with! Either way, he turned his attention to where the Ribombee was flitting around, helping him spot a final bushy-brown bottle brush tail that they could take home.

With two more Chansey eggs, he was hoping that it would be a quick trip. The question is how quick would it be, though, since he could feel his legs starting to cramp up. When was the last time he had gone on a walk this long? He had forgotten, to be honest.

Sighing, the odd travelling companions continued their search, winding deeper and deeper into the Safari Zone.

The answer would be: much sooner than you think!

The scent of not just one, but two Chansey eggs was overpowering—at least to other Pokémon. While the Ribombee wasn’t bothered too much by it, there was something that was making its way through the undergrowth, crashing even—and before the strange travelling duo could register it, another Eevee had appeared on the scene!

The bottle brush tail was wagging furiously, before the Ribombee gave Alexei a questioning look. Nodding quietly, he then crouched down and held the Chansey egg out to the approaching Eevee. It leapt right at the egg that he was holding out, taking hungry bites out of the thing.

“Huh. Guess I should really get a Chansey when I come back here… you think?” he asked the Ribombee, who had since then flitted over and placed the second egg near the first one which the Eevee was demolishing right before their eyes. Once the Normal-type was done, the sight of the second egg sent it right into a tizzy, before it was devoured hungrily.

“Wow. Talk about really hungry,” he added with a chuckle as he watched the second egg disappear, literally inhaled in precious few moments. Now that the Eevee was full, it then ran around a few times before settling in for a nap. Right in front of them.

“Surprise,” was all he said next, tapping the last Safari Ball on the sleeping Eevee’s form and watching as the red beam of light swallowed it up.
