Alec was hoping that Inferno's Flamethrower would have hit Kaz's Toxtricity, however it had dodged just like before. It also wasn't done there. It let out another Noble Roar, as well as another Overdrive.

His Mega Evolved Charizard tumbled to the ground, hurt by the surge of electricity that bellowed from the Toxtricity. Inferno snarled in pain, however it was still able to stand up and fight. "You're doin great Inferno! Just shake it off!" Alec encouraged him, however, Alec did have a little bit of doubt running through him. To be honest, he had never Mega Evolved Charizard all that much. He would only use it in pinches, however this battle was different.

This challenge was to see if a challenger could overcome Inferno's Mega Evolved state - not to try and actually win. However, if Kaz and his Pokemon were to slip up, then Alec winning could be very well happen. "Can you move buddy?" Alec asked his Charizard. I gave a huff as well as a nod, saying that it could. Alec grinned happily and then said, "Alright! Charge with Dragon Dance! Alec said, and with that, Inferno let out a roar and hurtled itself towards the Toxtricity.

Just as it got closer, Alec had said, "Now use Blast Burn!" Alec had commanded. Inferno abruptly stopped right in front of the Toxtricity and slammed it's fist down on the ground, doing the same as before. a Massive flame exploded out from the ground. There was so much smoke that Alec couldn't even tell what had happened and had decided to wait til the smoke cleared. Inferno was pretty banged up, and honestly, he wasn't sure if he was okay or not.

However, despite that, he knew that his Charizard wouldn't give up so easily. He was stubborn just as much as Alec was in that Regard.

Inferno's Blast Burn had hit Aniki head on, which made the young Gym Leader grin, thinking that the battle was won, however something Alec had not expected had happened. Aniki had performed a move that Alec had never seen. Alec watched helplessly as his Charizard was struck by the unknown attack, and then within mere seconds, Inferno had fell to the ground, unable to continue. Alec stood there, still shocked by what he had seen.

What ... was that attack? I've never seen a Pokemon do that before, Alec had thought. After all, despite him being a Gym Leader, he was still fairly young, and there was still things he didn't know. Alec smiled lightly, grabbing an empty poke ball, which was Inferno's and had returned him to it, sealing him inside in order to gain proper rest. Alec had then pulled out a small black box from his pant pocket.

He opened after stepping in front of Kaz. He pulled out a Legend Badge that was inside, offering it to Kaz. "As proof of your victory, I give you the Legand Badge. You have rightfully earned it," Alec had said wearily with a soft smile. He was happy that Kaz had won, but ... deep down, Alec couldn't help but feel weaker than he had already felt before.

He wasn't there to save Mateo, or the people of Slateport. Alec had hated himself for that. He never would come out and say it of course, due to the fact, he didn't want to ruin Kaz's victory by being a selfish whiner. Back then before he became a Gym Leader, he would have complained obnoxiously that he lost, but ever since Mateo had vanished, a piece of the young boy had vanished as well. Whether that was a good thing or a bad thing, not even Alec knew.

Alec had a serious face after giving Kaz his Gym Badge and had began to ask him a question. "I have no right to ask you this, but ... Were you there at the Slateport attack?" Alec had asked, being curious. after a pause, Alec shook his head, and then said, "Ya know what! Forget that I asked such a question! Ya probably don't know who Mateo Martinez is anyways," Alec said, hiding his sadness with his big goofy grin, however one could tell that it was forced.

"Well! If ya ever wanna come back and have a battle for fun, you're more than welcome! I will be looking forward to it, and we'll be ready too!"
