It looked like his bad luck was going to carry over, even to this new location.[break][break]

First thing he saw was a Pokémon that had a blue… toupee. Or what he thought looked like a toupee. It was… weird, in all honesty. Well, that made his eyebrows go up. Wondering what was up with that, he then sighed, before looking around.[break][break]

If it was going to take him an eternity to find the rabbit Fire-type he was looking for, then so be it. If the gods that be would torture him, then he would endure the torture to find the one thing he was looking for.[break][break]

It was like the time he flashed back so long ago, when he had first arrived in the region, having searched almost everywhere for a Riolu. Thank Arceus he managed to find one, but it took him almost three months—to his reckoning, at least—before he finally managed to find one in the wild.[break][break]

Would it take just as long for him to find the one he wanted this time around?

While it wasn’t the rabbit Pokémon he was looking for, the flash of a fiery red mane tipped him off.[break][break]

Oh Arceus, please let this be one of the other ones I’m looking for! Alexei thought frantically as he dug around for a random Pokéball and tossed it forward, hoping that he had summoned the right companion. As he tore after the Ponyta, his Ribombee appeared, confused to all hell.[break][break]

“Ca…rina! Come on! Look up ahead!” he called out to the minuscule Pokémon, pointing at the Ponyta who was running not too far ahead. “Try and…catch it for me?” he gasped as he tried to keep up with the quick-moving Pokémon.[break][break]

The dual-type was on her way, releasing a Sweet Scent in order to distract said Ponyta. While not as potent as it normally would be (because Carina didn’t know that the Ponyta was female, okay) the literal equine on fire came to a stop, distracted by the cloying smell…[break][break]

…only to get smacked in the face with several purple Pollen Puffs. Angry, the Fire-type lashed out with a Flame Wheel, attempting to fry the Ribombee to a crisp.[break][break]

A shriek came from the dual-type, causing Alexei to catch up to where the Ribombee was trying to bat the flames away—and a triumphant smirk flashed on the Ponyta’s face for a few moments. Fiery, eh? Well, time to take this down personally, he thought as he quickly recalled the Ribombee.[break][break]

Sending out his Noivern, he pointed forward. “Get her!” and the chase was on.[break][break]

Even if the Ponyta knew Agility, the Noivern did too—and the two proceeded to chase each other. The Ponyta attempted to snipe the Noivern out of the air with another Flame Wheel attack, but a sudden Boomburst of noise caught the human off-guard, causing him to wince and clap his hands over his ears.[break][break]

Crap, I am never going to get used to that… he thought as the Noivern flew down to one side, strafing the Ponyta with several bursts of Dragon Pulse attacks. As the Fire-type attempted to lash out with a Take Down, another Boomburst to the face made it tipsy, before crashing down in a heap.[break][break]

“Thanks, Fen,” Alexei muttered as he quickly threw another vacant Pokéball.
