One silver fox was added to the collection! A pat on the back told Celeste to pick up the pace again, whilst Annie acted as a spare pair of eyes. Good thing, too, because it took mere seconds for a Meowstic to freeze in their pair like a Sawsbuck in headlights. “Can you jump?” The girl hugged her mount’s neck, trying her best to stay atop her.

Springing into the air was no trouble for the Rapidash; she even made it look elegant. The trainer clinging for dear life to her neck? Not so much. Her legs flung backwards and into the air, and she landed flat on her mare's back with a groan. Celeste had the decency to stop and let her reseat herself, but the disapproving look she gave was almost as harsh a blow to Annie's pride as her flight itself. “Okay… Good show, Cel. We’re going to practice that a bit more… For my sake, not yours.”

Luck shined down upon Annie, offering her a brief reprieve. The Applin in her eye was had to spot, but easier to avoid, especially since it was trying to bounce away from them on its own. “We’re clear, but try a little jump anyway.” Annie learned from her mistakes and pressed her feet against Celeste’s body, steadying herself for when the mare took off. It was a small jump, but a bit of a rocky one. At least all of Annie’s body stayed where it was meant to be, and she came a little closer to knowing how to ride a Pokemon.

She almost called for the Rapidash to jump again, but closer inspection showed that the Pokemon she spied was a) exactly what she wanted, and b) trying to run away from them. “See those brown ears over there? Get closer, and then get them with a Low Kick!” Running like the wind came naturally to Celeste, and she didn’t have to come anywhere closer to that to catch up with the fleeing fox. Annie knew to cling tight to her mare as she attacked, striking the Eevee down with one swift hoof. A Pokeball followed suit, and the Eevee became yet another member of Camp Annie.

A wild Snom was close enough to watch the Eevee get ensnared, and quickly decided that it wanted no part in their business. That worked for Annie, since she had no desire to catch a Snom. She watched the bug’s hurried shuffle rustle the grass on its way out and patted Celeste, urging her to pick up the pace. “You’ve been great so far, girl, and we’re almost done.” The Rapidash’s proud huff brought a smile to her trainer’s face, though she was only allowed to keep it for a few seconds. The mare came close to showing that it earned its species’ name, which meant Annie had less time to smile and more time to stop herself flying off the mount’s back.

Another Chansey brought about another sigh of relief. Annie had never known one of their kind to be aggressive unless commanded to, and even then it was a struggle, if Fortuna was anything to go by. The pink ball received a wave – which, of course, it returned in kind – before Annie put her eyes back on the road. Path. Grass. Whatever. Her partner was trusting her to keep them from trampling an innocent, and letting her faith be misplaced would reverse days of training.

Her diligence was rewarded within seconds, by way of one last Eevee. Specifically, an Eevee that say them coming, decided that he wanted nothing to do with them, and began bouncing away from the rider. Annie’s smirk told that she didn’t plan on letting her prize slip away. “One last attack, Celeste! Think you can grab it?” The lady neighed, stopping the fox in his tracks with a Psychic. He was thrown backwards, right into Annie’s outstretched hand, his body pressing against and opening the Pokeball in it.
