Alexei didn’t know if he was going to get lucky again! The possibilities were starting to narrow down so much he was absolutely lost at this point in time. Maybe coming out to this other place was a mistake, should he go back to where he had been hunting previously?[break][break]

The thought of encountering the fabled rabbit Pokémon was more than enough to make him stick to his guns. Hoping that all wasn’t lost yet, he decided to pitch a camp at Route 111, since this was the place where he found his Ponyta—wild child that she was.

Why did it feel like he was being chased by the same thing he had encountered previously?[break][break]

Looking down at the grass around him, he saw that he was not alone—and sighed. It was the same Pokémon he had encountered previously… wait, was it?[break][break]

All Pokémon looked the same in the wild. This possibly couldn’t be the same one he had met before, right? Scratching his head slightly, he then proceeded to sidestep around the Rolycoly, giving it a wide enough berth so it could chug away in peace.[break][break]

On he went, the search continued.[break][break]

Where was that dang thing hiding, anyway?! He did his best to stifle a groan from the sheer hopelessness of the situation. And he wasn’t going to trust his crap luck when it came to picking up Pokémon from that shady place…

So the world of Pokémon was filled with strange things.[break][break]

Yes, even fish that could live outside of water.[break][break]

So one could imagine Alexei’s surprise to see that there was indeed such a Pokémon capable of surviving out of the water, yet being a Water-type at the same time. He could only tilt his head in silent shock at the Relicanth, before considering catching it or not.[break][break]

In the end though, stubbornness won out, and he give the dual-type a wide berth before continuing on his search.[break][break]

Was he going to find the fabled one this time? Or not?[break][break]

Only time would tell. Only time would freaking tell…

While it was no Scorbunny, the sight of the Blaziken made Alexei’s eyebrows go up slightly. Seeing that he had skipped over this one previously, it felt like it was time to actually go home with this one now.[break][break]

“Well, well… hello there,” he muttered quietly, watching as the Blaziken was intently practicing its moves. He wondered if it would be a good idea to disturb it—but of course, he wanted to keep watching the dual-type go through the motions of fighting and kicking.[break][break]

He blinked in silent wonder as he saw the Blaziken kick high, so high it was almost impossible—its feet were ablaze, and he didn’t know what move that was. Normally he would have turned around and left the Blaziken alone, but there was something calling out to him…[break][break]

“Alright,” he mumbled softly, fishing around in his jacket pocket and pulling out a Friend Ball and tossing it forward, revealing his Braviary. At the sight of the avian, the dual-type let out a shriek, before quickly Bulking Up and charging right at it![break][break]

“Oh, heck, he doesn’t want to be interrupted… fend him off, but don’t overdo it! Show him how we fight!” he called out, and the Braviary quickly whipped up a Tailwind to make it move even faster. A threatening flash of Hone Claws gave the Braviary an edge as the Blaziken moved in, aiming a Blaze Kick at the avian.[break][break]

The Flying-type lashed out with an Aerial Ace, smack in the center of the other dual-type’s face. The Braviary then followed up with a reckless Sky Drop—picking up the screaming Blaziken and taking it into the sky.[break][break]

“Oh boy,” was all the human could say as the Brviary disappeared—only to return a few moments later, slam-dropping the Blaziken into the ground face-first, knocking it out.[break][break]

“I told you not to overdo it! Oh well… I hope he can forgive you for doing that,” he chastised the Braviary as he threw another vacant Pokéball at the plonked-out Blaziken, pretzeled on the ground.
