Avery has picked today, specifically today, to venture out into the safari zone. The weather is temperate and rather warm, just warm enough that she can get away with a lighter jacket and a scarf. She isn't bundled head to toe in winter gear so she feels more adept at moving. [break][break]

She can tell it's going to be a good day.[break][break]

The woman's Lucario stands poised at her side, eyes severe and serious as he surveys the surroundings. [break][break]

"No need to be so serious, my friend. We're here to relax and enjoy! Live a little, yeah?"

Avery gasps aloud at the sight of an Eevee foraging in the grass nearby. It seemed to have found a bush of berries, because when it turns to face her, she can see the stains of blue around the edges of his mouth. [break][break]

She giggles, and the Eevee tenses for a moment before relaxing.[break][break]

In her purse, the woman reaches for a different kind of treat, some sort of tart. She shakes it around and waves it in front of her while crouching.[break][break]

"Wanna try some of this?"[break][break]

The Eevee begins to carefully pick his way toward her, but eventually falls victim to her delicious baking. It doesn't take long for her to give him loving scratches and loving's and win over his trust. By the time she stands back up, he's rubbing in between her legs and has no intention of leaving.[break][break]

A flash of colour tumbling out of a tree catches Avery's attention. It happens so quickly that she almost dismisses it as a trick of the light, but her own motherly instinct begs her to investigate - just in case.[break][break]

It's a good thing she had! As soon as she approaches she discovers a tiny apple buried in the snow. She reaches down to grab it and is visibly and audibly surprised when it flinches. The woman squeals and her Lucario comes to her aid, a low growl slipping past his lips.[break][break]

Once her heartrate slows, the woman taps her Pokemon on the shoulder and kneels down to look at the strange Pokemon.[break][break]

"Well, I guess I see something new everyday, huh? You totally look like an apple, I was.. probably gonna tuck you in my bag as a snack for later. I apologise."[break][break]

It seems to tremble from the cold, and Avery is quick to lift it out of the snow and brush it off with the end of her scarf. Once the Applin is shiny and new again, Avery giggles softly.[break][break]

"If you don't mind, I'd like to take you home. I promise no one will eat you, you're safe with me."[break][break]

That, and she fully intended to find out just what he was and what else she could learn from him.[break][break]

Icicles, she thinks. They look just like icicles. And it makes it all the cooler when she spots them dangling from low-hanging branches. They seem to sparkle in the sunlight and chime in the wind. The noise captures her attention first, and she blinks curiously for a moment before actually steeling herself to approach.[break][break]

With one hand, the woman reaches up to touch one, and at the soft touch it seems to startle and unlatch itself from the tree. Whatever leaf or morsel it had been chewing on is yoinked from its hold on the branch, and falls into Avery's hands.[break][break]

"I've never seen one of you before, either! How strange."[break][break]

She uses one finger to brush the spines of the Pokemon softly, and it seems to be working like a charm. Nestled in her palm, it makes itself at home. But, being cold to the touch, Avery eventually makes the attempt to capture it to study later.[break][break]

The final stop is a fitting one, full of plush pink skin and a peace offering of love and delicious home-cooked eggs.[break][break]

Avery bumps into a lovely and warm-hearted Chansey on her way back to the beginning of the safari zone. The wild Pokemon in question is very polite and proper, offering her only the best morsels she could offer. Her lovely voice does cause a bit of a problem while it puts Avery into a light slumber - but Chansey makes sure to brush her hair out of her face and let her have some well-earned rest.[break][break]

When the woman awakes, she is happy to find she's discovered a new friend. One that is more than happy to follow her back home to the daycare. She seems the motherly type and had already taken to tucking the Applin into her pouch. She was in the process of trying to fit Snom in there as well before Avery stopped her.[break][break]

"Don't! You might squish them. One at a time, please."[break][break]

She sighs in relief and wipes her brow.[break][break]

"C'mon, let's go home. You'll love it there - there's like.. an endless supply of babies."[break][break]
