"C'mon bud." Bo encouraged the little Teddiursa as it toddled along beside her. She offered her hand to the pokemon as they drew closer to a small pond. A moment later and the Teddiursa managed to catch up to her and slide a small paw into her outstretched hand.Her face relaxed into a soft smile and the pair continued on.

The sun was low and tinged the sky with a soft orange as it lingered just above the horizon. Bo didn't want to rush their walk - even if it'd be getting dark soon. They had a little time to enjoy the outdoors and scope out some more pokemon to add to the team.

Barrault let out a startled cry as the sunlight glinted off the honedge that floated across their path. Bo gave him a path on his head as the normal type shuffled behind her leg. "It's a'right. I don't think it's meaning to hurt you." She watched the sword pokemon drift towards them slowly. It shifted from side to side but kept it's little blue eye on them.

Bo scratched her chin and allowed it closer until it came to a stop just in front of her. It didn't seem aggressive and the three of them stood quietly for a moment before the honege tilted almost horizontally and peered around her side. It's blue eye landed curiously on Barrault and as he shifted to hind beind Bo's other leg, the sword pokemon drifted around Bo's body to follow.

"I think it just wants to play, bud." But the teddiursa wasn't having it. It stared up at the big blue eye and squirmed away - circling Bo to escape the wild pokemon's gaze. Again, the sword followed. Bo tried to encourage the teddiursa to play but it only cause the pokemon to start tearing up. "Ok, ok." She sighed before tossing a pokeball at the wild pokemon.

It was too late though. Bo tried to comfort her partner as it's initial teary eyes turned into full-blown fake tears. Barrault's upset distracted her from the little shieldon who'd also taken an interest in the pair. It sidled towards the pair as Bo panicked.

"Oh, bud... hey..." Bo squatted down besides her partner and nudged him. But the teddiursa was not having it. He continued on until he caught sight of the shieldon - peering at him from around Bo. The pokemon let out a sharp cry and swiped at the shieldon with a feint attack.

Bo shifted towards the wild pokemon as Barrault swiped around her. It withdrew, though it seemed more frightened than hurt. "Oh, jeez, calm down Barrault." But her partner showed no signs of calming down. She threw out another pokeball at the shieldon, hoping to have a minute without a wild pokemon so that Barrault would calm down.

With the two newly captured pokemon tucked away in her old tool bag, Bo was finally able to calm Barrault. ”You know,” she nudged her partner as she settled down along the edge of the pond. ”Not every pokemon’s trying to hurt ya.”

The teddiursa stared at her with wide, uncertain eyes. ”I mean, you gotta take a minute and look at what they’re doing. If they’re not being mean maybe you could play?” Barrault nodded softly as his paw found its way to his mouth. Bo wasn’t really sure she’d get through to him but it was worth a try.

Bo dug a snack bar from her bag as the sun sank lower in the sky. "You want some?" Barrault didn't respond. The pair would head back towards the ranger's office soon. A small glint caught her attention in the dimming light. It swayed back and forth down the path towards the pair until Bo could make out the soft glow of a charmander's tail-flame. The crinkle of her snack wrapper drew the charmander's attention and it approached the pair warily. Bo patted Barrault gently as he turned to look at the charmander.

"Let's see if he wants some, huh?" She broke off a piece of the snack and tossed it towards the charmander. Then she tossed another, this time it landed closer to the pair. She wouldd continue until the charmander either spooked or was close enough to feed from her hand.
