He almost misses the incoming Pokémon, floating unassisted without the help of gravity—wait a second, how the hell is it floating?! What the actual fuck?!

“Whoa!” he yelped, jumping out of the way as the Bronzor came in for a Heavy Slam attack. Hilariously, due to how small it was, it was going very quickly this allowed Alexei to dodge out of the way and hear the little Pokémon clang against something instead.

“Not today, you little fiend!” he breathed out, opening his tome and quickly kicking up a rock. A hurried muttered incantation later, and the rock ignited itself before he kicked it at the incoming Bronzor once more, scoring a direct hit on the Steel-type’s face.

Letting out a pained wail, he quickly kicked up a second rock before sending another Pyro Ball before it could react, effectively shooting it out of the air due to the Fire-type attack.

Okay, what was he going to run into next?

The pixelated roaring drew his attention as he turned around to pinpoint where the source of the noise came from.

Ah, bless the automatic loot function, he thought as he came face-to-face with a Lairon, shaking its scales in his face before charging forward at him rather recklessly.

“Holy hell!” he yelped as he stumbled backwards, barely managing to kick up a rock and send it in the Lairon’s direction. While the Pyro Ball attempt was small and barely struck the incoming mob, but it was enough to slow down the charging Pokémon headed his way. Scrambling out of the way, he found a much-larger rock and kicked it up, before sending it right at the Lairon.

The small piece of rubble didn’t catch fire until it almost struck the Lairon in the head, and he heard a painful roar. Knowing that Steel-types could tank Psychic-type moves without too much problem, he continued to kick up a barrage of rocks, setting them all aflame and driving back the Lairon—but not without getting a Rock Slide tossed in his face.

Yowling in displeasure, the barrage came to a temporary stop as he ran for cover. Once the Rock Slide had run its course, several more flaming pebbles came ricocheting at the Lairon, who let out a painful wail as the burning missiles of doom continued to attack it, eventually driving it back and away.

While he had successfully managed to drive the Lairon away, he was… not prepared for the final encounter of the day. His eyes almost popped out of their sockets as he saw what was coming.

It was… colossal. Gargantuan. Titanic.

FUCKING HUGE, even!

The larger-than-life shadow of what he recognized to be a Corviknight blotted out the sun… wait a second, why was it so much bigger… and a shitload more menacing?! Oh, snap.

Well, the one Fire-type move he had in his arsenal so far was the fastest way to bring this sucker down. Lucky for him, there were a lot of pebbles scattered about. Looks like it’s time for target practice… he thought with a devious grin on his face as he kicked up the first pebble and set it alight before kicking it skyward at the gigantic Corviknight.

Not a moment too soon, because a very loud, grating, screeching noise reached his ears—a Metal Sound maneuver! Quickly clapping his hands over his ears, he hoped the first of the many projectiles would strike its target. Seeing as it was closing down on him, he then frantically began kicking up rock, after rock, after bloody-ass hell rock and setting them all alight.

Successive Pyro Ball attacks then began to pepper the Corviknight, which let out a hideous roaring noise as the projectiles began striking it. Leering down at the panicked human, it then gave its best rendition of Scary Face.

“Oh, gross!” he groaned, getting the full blast before sending up another wave of projectiles at the damned thing. Even more Pyro Ball attempts went flying toward the Corviknight, who was about to prepare a Steel Wing attack—but Pyro Balls be damned he was not going to let this sucker get him!

Forcing himself to go faster, more and more projectiles were kicked up and frantically set alight, the Pyro Balls getting larger and larger the closer the damned bird approached. Could he kick up a huge rock and send it flying? That would involve considerable skill.

Deciding not to risk it, he made up his mind to overwhelm the Corviknight with sheer number of projectiles. After what felt like an eternity, it let out a rumbling noise… before crashing with an earth-shaking rumble.

“Yikes.”
