Line up here, pretend that you stand a chance of winning against me, then I’ll swing my oversized knife a bunch and you’ll drop dead! Let’s get this over with!” An impatient samurai tapped her sword against the ground like most would do their foot. There was no time for fun and games when there was a bigger bird to slay. A bigger, cooler, stronger bird that likely had better drops than all of her foes combined. There was no way she'd let that slip through her fingers.

[attr="class","athread"]It was amongst the boldest or birds that showed itself first; a fitting rival for the young warrior. She could have done without its moves, though. The bird coated itself in a near-blinding white glow. She recognized the move well from her Hawlucha, and in her head she spared a moment to commend the game’s attention to detail… Followed by a thought that she really didn’t want to get hit by that. Fortunately, she had just the trick.

Her blade was extended by a streak of near-solid water at its top as she charged for the Braviary, seemingly undeterred by the Sky Attack it was preparing. She wasn’t, but only because Fishious Rend could and would exploit the move’s charging time. The eagle was down and out before it could strike, and good thing too. The last thing she needed was to be at half health when her next foe showed itself.

[attr="class","athread"]Harsh winds announced the bird’s presence before she saw it. Her feet planted themselves against the ground, but there was only so much she could do to stop the Gust from forcing her back. In the end, it was the mercy of the devs that saved her, not her own skill. The flying attacks could only force players to move at a fraction of the strength they would any other mob, else nobody would ever make it through Avia without dying. Several times.

Not that Annie was thinking much about that. As soon as the attack ended, she was on the run, bearing her sword to return fire against a troubling beast. A single Breaking Swipe from a skilled player took off most of its health, and an auto-attack handled the rest.

[attr="class","athread"]The winds started up again before she could even collect her loot. There was a scramble to claim what was hers before it was swept off the edge, and then another for her to steady herself before she was sent flying instead. Accelerock turned out to be an easy solution to the latter, granting her speed to outmatch even a mighty bird beast. One super-effective body-check later and her prey was on the ground, struggling to summon its winds and a sitting duck for her Breaking Swipe.
