dazzle, katherine's hatenna, refused to grace the safari's grounds with her steps. instead, she clung to her trainer's arms and forced them to carry them. "you are being inconsiderate," the snowy-haired woman muttered, earning only a stare from her partner. "but fine. i'll carry you until we find an interesting pokemon. good enough for you?"

kat doesn't wait for a response. instead, she continues to search inside the safari for said interesting pokemons. perhaps they'll get lucky!

the solosis katherine and hatenna come across catches the attention of the rocket grunt, but it fails to excite her in any way. she came to this safari for a specific pokemon - and she will leave with at least one pokeball of said pokemon. which is why her goal was just that. to continue onward and forwards, even if it meant ignoring other potential partners.

the duo comes across a gible next.

the exact pokemon katherine has been searching for for so long... "hatenna, him. he looks nice." despite the rumors kat had heard about the many shiny pokemons that roamed inside the safari, kat couldn't help but feel enticed by the idea of having any gible join her team. this one, or another. perhaps she can even capture a few of them. "use dazzling gleam. and while he's blinded, use disarming voice! show him what you've got..!"

there isn't a moment of hesitance. as soon as dazzle is brought to the ground, she begins to act and perform according to kat's advice.

a multi-colored light beams from the core of the rocket's partner, blinding the gible who doesn't even know where to look - and as that occurs, the hatenna begins to sing with a shrieking voice, forcing kat to cover her ears. gible, blinded and now under the attack of the psychic-type, is unable to respond before it collapses to the ground.

the pokeball is sent next, kat not waiting longer than necessary, "good job, dazzle!"

the rookidee seemed to be waiting for the right opportunity.

it was either that, or-- well... it was angry with the fact that it just saw katherine's hatenna bully the poor gible. the flying-type unfurled his wings, beginning to fly directly towards where the psychic-type stood - refusing to simply ignore dazzle's actions. he assaults kat's partner with DRILL PECK, releasing a fury of relentless pecks. "dazzle!" the rocket wasn't expecting this to happen either, it seemed. "psychic, now! throw him away from you!"

it was hard for the pokemon to concentrate when it was attacked-- but after a couple more pecks, they performed just as katherine asked and threw the rookidee away. damaged, but clearly not beaten, the flying-type prepared itself to fly back towards the psychic type and attack her again. "don't wait for him to reach you. use psybeam until he can't move."

and so, after a moment of pause, she begins.
the beam is shot at the rookidee who attempts to power through it, and fly regardless of the attack that continued to damage him.

a valiant effort.
but a failure nonetheless.

"that was... a surprise." kat comments as she idly tosses another pokeball, this time aiming at the bird pokemon.

frankly, katherine didn't expect to come across two pokemons she intended to capture already.

lady luck was by her side, it seemed. hatenna survived the relentless attacks of the flying-type, and refused to go back to her pokeball this early. instead, she merely turned to glance at her trainer - as if pleading with her eyes to be picked up again. "you fought very well. how can i say no after that fight?" kat smiles, her lips curving upwards slightly. "let's keep looking for now, dazzle." the starley that flies near them appears to either be scared of the fight he watched-- or from the mere presence of a human so close to it. whatever it was, it ensures that this flying-type doesn't stay for too long.

katherine and dazzle continue to roam within the safari's forest, the hatenna held between the hands of her partner. it seemed calmer now, like they wouldn't be attacked by a stray pokemon due to a previous fight. she had captured both the gible and the shiny rookidee...

and now, all the two had to do was find one last pokemon to pique her interest in some sort of way.

they were somewhere here-- she was sure of it. but how long it'd take for her to find them... now that was the real question. not that kat was in a rush. dazzle seemed to feel fine as well, despite the heavy breathing. it was good chance for the psychic-type to work on their stamina.

"hm, hm, hm..." katherine hummed to herself, dazzle still held between her hands. they've went pass by several pokemons who all allowed them to travel freely, not deeming the trainer or the psychic-type she held to be a threat. in fact... one of the rockruff who traveled in a pack deserted his friends, only to follow katherine and hatenna around.

he barked several times, if only as an attempt to draw the attention of kat's partner.

"i think he likes you, dazzle." the snowy-haired woman mentioned as she continued to stride forward, "that's cute."
