Tending to a garden becomes increasingly harder for Katherine now that she has even more official duties to take care of. Becoming a member of the Elite Four should’ve made her life easier, maybe, but she couldn’t slack off in the way she imagined she would.

Rocket was gearing up for an attack, the League recently lost its champion, and Kat still didn’t know where she stood.

To say this left her disorientated would be an understatement.

Naturally, she left one of the few pokemon she couldn’t carry on her person at all times. Her Aegislash, Caliburn, the one who’d gone under the shadowfication procedure back in Rocket’s headquarters. Permanently changed and corrupted, the depraved Pokemon can only respond with hostile intent upon noticing a foreign presence in the garden.

Its stance changes without a finger lifted, the sword already shooting forward to slash through the Fairy-type and make quick work of it. It slices and dices, butting its IRON HEAD repeatedly until the imp faints.

Hours pass before Katherine returns home to see the still fainted pokemon in her garden, to which she can only reply with a quirk of her brow. “... Alright then.”

A Pokeball is tossed to capture the creature, but mostly out of pity.

Katherine tells herself, or at least she tries to. A second later, she realizes that no sound left her mouth. Her lips wouldn’t budge, just as her legs or hands refused to. The pokemon standing in front of her is not one recognized. Katherine looks long and hard, trying to figure out if it could have been hers…

If it could have been one she perhaps forgot about.

But it isn’t. It’s truly unknown.

It plants a seed of fear in her heart, bubbling, threatening to blossom into a fully-fledged flower within a moment’s notice should the pokemon not act - for katherine found herself unable to.

Could she phase away in time if it attacked?

Should she call Giratina?
[break][break]
Question after question, time stops as wave after wave of doubt come crashing down upon the malevolent, but she proves resilient and fearless once it speaks.

Calm, soothing, practically familiar…

..it offers a prophecy she does not understand entirely. It is only half coherent, while the rest belonged in fiction. It’s not everyday that a mysterious pokemon walks into her garden, at the middle of the night, to speak about wombs and unknown parents.

Thankfully, it isn't. Although Katherine does find a particular, blue-ish pokemon in her garden, it's not the one she was expecting. Disappointment settles in her features before she reaches for a Pokeball and sends out her Hisuian Zoroark, gesturing for it to deal with the pest.

"Just take care of it, Mirage," she tells the ghost, who answers the request with a harrowing shriek and a SHADOW SNEAK attack.

The wild pokemon faints easily, not putting much of a fight in the process. "That was loud," Katherine complains half-heartedly before tossing a Pokeball in the direction of the intruder.
