He businessed well, and that was about it. Francie had come to accept that about Fernando and lying to herself and saying otherwise, or dolling that smile up to be anything but his way of covering up how he might have felt about the subject, would be naive. She'd learned her lessons.

But damn if it didn't still make her heart skip a beat when he said that ever formal and expected worry.

What else was she supposed to say?

Because, why else would he be worried but to fill a gap in the region's defense force? Right??

He places a hand on her shoulder, gripping the reigns of his bag with his other hand. "So let me know you're in trouble. I don't want you to suffer alone like that again."

Mentally, he can't imagine this coming out as anything but cheesy but he knows what he has to feed her. "You're special to me." Which he plays up to an uncomfortable awkwardness, purposefully shying away by avoiding eye contact once he lets the initial silence play out. He continues to hold it before starting off again into the bustling streets of Lilycove.

Once upon a time, if Fernando said those words, she might have thought about kissing him. Once upon a time, anyway. For now, she just feels a little fuzzy. Like she's prepared to accept a hug or maybe give him a bright smile-- which she does. But she had decided, while away, that she wouldn't be pining anymore.[break][break]

Any and all feelings for Fernando were resolved and he was just a very good friend. Seeing him shy away had her smiling fondly, though. That was a very human thing of him to do. Which, admittedly, he didn't always do human things when it came to social interaction, she'd learned.[break][break]

"Well, at any rate, thank you. It's good to know I have a very solid and reliable friend to count on."[break][break]

She eyes his bags, then takings in a deep breath. Seemed she was making new friends around almost every corner. She was thankful for the friends and contacts, as well.[break][break]

"I won't hide, anymore. I've decided that much. I'm going to stand firm. Let my stubbornness take the reigns, for once.... which will probably come around to bite me in the end but... I'm here for it!"

"That's a respectable decision but your'e not alone Francie."

Fernando stops in front of a coffee shop and glances at the other cafes down the street. The implication is obvious but he waits for her to confirm as well. "You have me."
