He knew his luck was on the low side when it came to searching for Dragon-types, but there you were. Sighing, he knew that the last few parts of the Pokémon he was looking for would be the hardest to look for, and so there you were.

He was back at Meteor Falls, hoping that he would be able to find something that he could immediately cross off from the remaining that he had to hunt.

Sometimes that weird place where he found majority of his Pokémon didn’t have anything available for him to pick and take home to raise as his own family.

A splashing noise heralded the arrival of something… star-shaped. Raising his eyebrows in question, he wondered what the hell this thing was, before checking his PokéGear for a few moments.

A Water-type… well, that’s definitely not on the list… he thought as he rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a certain containment unit. He realized the folly of his mistake a few moments after the Infernape hit the ground, literally feet running.

“Wukong, you jackass, don’t get too—“ he began to shout before the Infernape began to Taunt the Staryu relentlessly. “Oi!” he called a few moments later, sighing—as the Staryu fired back a Psychic at the dual-type.

“Idiot! Get out of the way! Although the Taunt was a good idea, you messed it up a bit, you jerk,” he grumbled as the dual-type dodged, before quickly closing the distance and striking at the Staryu with a powerful Acrobatics attack.

Knocked off-center, the Staryu was sent flying before it splashed in the water where it had emerged from.

“Yeesh, hold your ground the next time, okay?” he chastised the Infernape. It was different than travelling with Alpha. That much was certain.

The next Pokémon they encountered was more than enough for Lars to let out an audible groan.

He’d had enough Tentacruel for a lifetime—and the ones he did have the misfortune to meet were kaiju-sized, which made things a lot worse. As he continued to chastise the Infernape quietly, another beam of red light shot out of his pocket, materializing into his Metagross.

A sudden cascade of bubbles went hurtling towards the two arguing figures; however a well-timed Telekinesis fired off by the Metagross deflected the attack in another direction instead. As the floating squid attempted to reassert itself, a powerful blast of rainbow-colored energy smacked it upside the head and sent it back into the water.

The two that had been arguing didn’t realize what was going on until they looked up at the same time to see a shiny Metagross just staring at them, unimpressed.

“What?” was all Lars had to say before looking at Ro, who let out an exasperated grating noise his way.

Three pairs of eyes turned to the splashing noise that had invaded them, and Lars let out a little sigh. “Well, then… today doesn’t seem to be our lucky day. Maybe in a few days. We’ll try again,” he said to the two.

“Wukong, you’d better shape your ass up, otherwise you’re not getting any more time with us for the moment. Think of it as a ‘punishment’ for being so reckless,” he added in the Infernape’s direction. Meanwhile, the Lumineon couldn’t stand being ignored, and so fired off a Whirlpool headed their way.

The Metagross was quick on the uptake and blocked the incoming water vortex with a Telekinesis before deflecting it harmlessly to one side. Another Whirlpool attempt came surging towards them, but was this time deflected by a Psychic blast of rainbow energy. A few moments later the Lumineon was sent careening back into the water with another Psychic blast.

“Well that was a bust…”
