priam pauses afterwards. he stares at dominic blankly as he tries to recall bits and pieces of the previous topic. he was too engrossed with defending himself that he lost the details of a bigger picture.

in an almost comedic manner, he asks a question. "what were we talking about again?"

"oh yeah!"

he takes the answer as it is, because there's nothing else to work with. priam gets swayed with the conversation easily as he looks back at his scyther, and then a target for the said pokemon.

"another demonstration by priam conrad himself," he utters as soon as he finds a primeape.

his hand points at it, signalling the scyther to go for the wild pokemon. he dashes forward with a blink of an eye, gliding through the air before his feet scrape against the earth with a sudden stop, scythes forming an x as he fires off twin blades of wind from them.

the super effective hit downs the primeape, and priam catches it with a pokeball.

"tada!" he says, sounding more excited than proud. "i can take over professor burke's job if i keep this up, yeah?"

dominic watches priam's scyther easily dispatch the primeape and then turns to face him.

"to be honest," dominic says slowly. "at this point? i think you're qualified to take over about half the jobs back on the sub."

dominic is not sure if he's joking or not.

glancing up at the darkening sky prompts him to finally check the time on his phone, and he's surprised to see how much of the day had already passed. "speaking of, we should head back."
