The first thing he comes across is a troublemaker that looks like it had already visited somewhere and caused mischief. Checking his PokéGear showed that the Whimsicott is—unfortunately—part-Fairy, and could therefore annihilate his Hydreigon if it tried hard enough.

Close, but not quite the one I was looking for here originally… he thought to himself with a sigh of disappointment as he watched the Whimsicott float unperturbed across the area, giggling to itself. What kind of chaos was this one capable of?

He then continued on his way, wondering if he could find something safe enough for his Hydreigon to practice on. Fairy-types had been the thorn in all Dragon-type’s sides ever since they were discovered…

The next Pokémon they came across made him squint for a few moments, because holy shit the light radiating off the Solrock was painful, even in this area.

Ow, ow, ouch… he thought as he blinked for a few moments before realizing what he had come across. This is perfect! Alright, this should be safe… he continued in the back of his mind as he plucked his Hydreigon’s containment unit and sent out the draconid, letting out a roar upon release.

“Lucan! Time to practice. Use your Outrage on the Solrock, now!” he began, before watching the Hydreigon fly forward with an almost malicious glee as it began to attack the Solrock from seemingly many directions at once. At the same time the Solrock attempted to use Psychic—to absolutely no effect at all.

“You’re safe! Just keep going!” he added as the Hydreigon continued to go on its rampage via the Outrage attack, while the Solrock vainly tried to fire off another Psychic attempt only for the Hydreigon to blink at it for a few moments before giving it the most vicious uppercut it could manifest.

The Solrock was then sent hurtling away from the area, clearly the Psychic attack didn’t work… which was an advantage for the Hydreigon at the least due to its dual Dark and Dragon-typing.

Well, a Dragon-type did appear, however it wasn’t the one that Lars was looking for, at least in this area.

Ugh, what is wrong with my luck this time around… he thought as he pinched the bridge of his nose out of frustration. As Lucan let out a roar of glee and attempted to rush at the Fraxure, Lars clicked his tongue a few times.

“No, Lucan, calm the hell down, that’s not what we came here for. I’m sure you can calm yourself down, right?” he remarked as the Hydreigon turned its head to listen in the direction of his human companion’s voice.

“No, Lucan. This is where we try to learn self-control, okay? I’ll let you have the next one,” he added a few moments later, before sighing right after.

Anyway, they were already here, why not continue searching?
