Maddison races up a sect of the immeasurably steep mountain in gear fitting for a workout, while being extraordinarily easy on the eyes. Her arms hastily swing back and forth like a pendulum in an extravagant clock. Metaphorically speaking, she is a well-oiled machine up to what many of her followers might consider an insurmountable task: climbing mount pyre. Through even breaths, unwavering posture, and resolve, she makes such a task look easy. Sweat glistens across her temples and a hand occasionally rises to remove the shimmer with a calculated swipe.

Racing beside Maddison is her trusty Riolu, who is always ready for physically intense outings. Due to his naturally great endurance, he has no issue keeping up with Maddison’s pace. Between both of its paws it holds a phone, carefully angled to stream Maddison as she makes great strides onward. On occasion the phone may slip between the Pokémon’s paws, but he is quick to recover it and return to Maddison’s side. The screen of the phone shows many comments that, in real time, pile up. Words and emoticons scramble past one another, rushing upward to make space for those that follow.

“This is a great run for Anubis and me,” Maddison states while glancing to the camera. Her Riolu is quick to nod in agreement. Their run slows to a jog and then eventually a walk, so that she can properly talk to her audience. “Anubis is always up for a run, he’s got such high endurance and speed, it’s inspiring. We’ve got such great energy and constantly try to challenge one another to push past our limits.”

Even the pair of sunglasses Katherine wore weren't enough to protect her from the harsh sun. Frankly, it's expected when you're climbing a mountain... But still, she can't help but grumble aloud for her Leafeon to hear. Ivy looks up in confusion at her trainer, almost as if to ask 'what's wrong?'

After all, if there was anything the grass-type did enjoy... It was the sun.

"Don't worry about it, Ivy. I feel fine." Kat was annoyed, sure, but she didn't feel as if she had to stop or anything. The temptation to call out a water-type to use RAIN DANCE, however, was rising with each passing moment.

A cloud or two would be appreciated.

And before the thought settles in her mind on whether if she should or shouldn't - someone else is spotted. A woman and a Riolu who seemed to be filming her. It's not her intention to sneak up on the pair of them, but... They seemed to be catching up to the other duo rather quickly.

"..Hello. I didn't think there'd be someone else climbing the mountain." Ivy moved to circle Riolu with a curious stare, focused on the phone he was holding. "Are we interrupting something?" She was referring to the shoot, of course.

Pose after pose, Maddison can't seem to stop striking the perfect one. A playful giggle, pout-y lips, and an ominous look each accompany their own shot. The comments on her live stream are rampant. Her viewers are simply obsessed with the looks that Maddie serves. They're eating it up!

Riolu, equally obsessed with the poses being struck, yelps a happy tune of his own. It earns a genuine laugh from his partner. A hand is applied to its respective hip as Maddie prepares for yet another pose.

Just then, in the distance, another trainer arrives. A wide-eyed glance is paid in their direction. She's just as surprised as them to find others willing to trek this treacherous path. Anubis coarsely barks in surprise just before gazing onto the duo.

"Well, would you look at that! Anubis and I usually don't see others when we hike up pyre. You're not interrupting on much, I'm just talking to a couple of my fans." A couple was putting it lightly - her view count was in the triples, encroaching upon a quadruple digit count.

Ivy seemed to MIMIC Maddison and follow her lead. She strikes a pose as well, and the only difference between them is the fact that the Leafeon begins to glow with a bright light, the rays of the sun providing the body of the grass-type with energy and a natural shine that no skin-care product can replicate. SYNTHESIS is executed flawlessly as if practiced for a coordinator contest in the future.

It was almost like she sought to taunt the Riolu, knowing he wouldn't be able to match her.

"Ivy, play nice."

After all, they only just met. Katherine didn't want to deal with a battle against a trainer who was carrying a recording phone. "Oh, so you do this often?" It comes as a surprise to the Rocketess. How could anyone do this to themselves and return to climb this mountain after the first time?

Maddie's gaze averts to the glowing Leafeon. Her lips part in mild surprise. It was as beautiful as it was expected. Mimicking Maddison's own pose but adding quite the interesting twist to it.

"Ooh," says the awe-inspired model.

Anubis fervently averts the camera from the glowing Pokémon, earning confused emotions from the live chat. They'd only get to catch a glimpse of the Maddison-inspired look. Regardless, Anubis is keen enough to spot a challenge when it's presented before him. Compounded a meek bark, the Riolu gestures for Maddison to take the phone.

"Hm? Oh, no, not really. We take this route a fairly ofte-" Maddison attempts to reply to the stranger, but is interrupted by her partner.

The bark gains Maddison's attention. A brow is arched from his partner, but the item is taken by its owner. The camera captures Anubis's frame in its entirety as he strikes a radiant pose of his own. The raw radiance of the pose is seemingly enough for him to become radiant himself! He glows as bright as the sun, earning euphoric comments and emoticons from Maddie's chat.

Anubis seems to be quite the COPYCAT.

"Looking good, Anubis!" Maddison encourages. She doesn't seem to be quite wary of the battle between Pokémon, or at the very least, she doesn't deem it worthy of being acknowledge on her oh-so-positive channel. Her attention then returns to Katherine. "Would I be correct to assume that you don't take this path often?"

Katherine can't help but chuckle at the strange competition the two have set for themselves. One with her natural talent, and the other through the aid of COPYCAT. It was inspiring to watch Riolu trying to match Leafeon, especially because she knew it'd only lead to one thing.

The grass-type was even more motivated to crush her opponent now.

A real battle or not, she was never one to surrender or give someone a false sense of victory. Oh, not at all. Her defeat will have to be earned.

It was sunny, but not sunny enough.[break]
SUNNY DAY is used just as Ivy directs her eyes to the skies. She begins to glow and shine as before, only this time a bright, yellow beam is projected through the leaf that sprouts from her forehead. The beam's effect is nigh instant. The skies clear until not even the smallest of clouds is left, and the sun's rays grow even harsher.

"Really, Ivy? It was hot enough already..."

The grass-type calls out her name before executing SYNTHESIS another time, glowing brighter and stronger than before. Copying two of her moves would not be allowed, not with the speed in which she had performed.

"We don't come here often, no. And I am starting to think that it should be the last time we'll come here too. I can't handle this heat." But perhaps at night, when the ghost-types came outside to play, this place was more bearable.

"Is the top worth reaching? Like... At all?"

The Riolu seems to be up to any task, regardless of how daunting it can be. He must not know his limits, or, he's always looking to push them. Once again, Anubis shows why he's such a great COPYCAT.

In near tandem with his opponent, Anubis sprouts a beam that strikes the heavens. They beckon the clouds to part, with such intensity that it almost seems as if they can command the sky itself.

A passionate growl escapes the Pokémon as he attempts to match his opponent yet again, intent on once more showing his potent skills as a COPYCAT. Anubis shimmers slightly before lightly combusting in a comedic fashion, topping onto its rear-end. A dismissive breath escapes his nostrils.

All the while, Maddison seems to have returned her attention to her virtual audience. Poses are struck, with various faces put on display from Maddison. In the back, her fans notice the light show, emphasized by the array of comments that go back and forth between the two topics. Their attention is effectively split between Maddison and the battle behind her. After Riolu detonates, Maddison glances over.

"Oh, Anubis. That's so you. Always pushing your limits! Inspiring, really," Maddison swoons. The compliment is enough to return his confidence, causing him to triumphantly rise.

Leafeon grows more agitated and upset at the fighting-type by the moment. The grass-type seemed to be insulted by the mere fact the other dared to contest her where she excelled.

And Ivy refuses to accept any sort of defeat. She is familiar with the move COPYCAT, and the only thing left for her to do is to think of a plan where her opponent is incapable of mimicking her. The next SYNTHESIS used causes Ivy to glow just as before, but there's a twist. Her ability comes into play: LEAF GUARD.

The SUNNY weather allows the grass-type to wash any status conditions away with an even more pristine shine that SYNTHESIS could ever provide.

But much like Anubis, Ivy finds that all the moves she executed in such a short period of time were wearing her down. Gracefully, she took a seat and laid herself on the ground.

"He is something. I mean, they both are... But he is too."
[break][break]
"You aren't a coordinator by chance, are you?" Maddison certainly fit the appearance of one, and her Riolu acted like a perfectly-trained show pokemon.

Anubis spectates the Leafeon's performance. He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't impressed by the moves that he was incapable of learning, at least, as such a speed. However, he maintains his prideful and confidant front, intent on not letting the grass-type Pokémon get him down too much. The Riolu wolfish-ly snickers as his competitor tires herself out.

Maddison switches her attention to Katherine. The trainer's inquiry causes Maddison to pensively apply a digit to her chin. She thoughtfully considers a response.

"Hmm. A coordinator? I don't use the title often, but yes, I suppose I am. Not exclusively, though." She nods. A barrage of comments on Maddison's live stream reminds her that she hadn't responded to several of her acquaintance's statements. "Ooh, right, apologies. The environment is a lot more forgiving at night. And the summit at the top is a beautiful view, but you can't enter because of the elderly couple who guard it."

She could think of a couple of ways to get past a couple of guards, let alone an elderly one, but who knew if such would even be necessary. Katherine preferred to focus on where she was now, rather than where she could be.

It isn't a surprise for her to hear that Maddison was in fact a coordinator as she had imagined, but...

The Littleroot incident was still fresh in her mind, and only some of the faces the Rocketess had seen that day stuck to her memory. This, however, was not one she recognized. But then again, it was entirely possible that she was too focused on the operation to pay any attention to performances.

"It was nice to meet you both, but I don't want to more of your time and... I do want to see what's all the fuss about this place. I suppose we'll see each other again when you reach it?" Katherine offered a smile along with a short wave, and then with a deep breath inhaled, she began to take the last few steps towards the peak of Mount Pyre.
