Lavaridge had always been one of Kennedy's favorite towns to visit. Their hot springs always refreshed Kennedy and her team. Even Pegasus enjoyed dipping his hooves into the springs; quite relaxing for a pokemon who was always on his feet. After taking a dip in the springs, the ace trainer had decided to get in a training session on Mt. Chimney. Ash bellowed up into the air with each step she took on the steep mountain trail.

Celeste, her Dragonair snaked in the air with grace. Her elongated body almost curled around her trainer almost like a protective shield. She didn’t know why Kennedy insisted on walking when she could have easily carried her. But Kennedy had always tried to be independent so she didn’t try to force the issue. Pegasus trotted in front of them, head high and strides long as he turned his head to and fro, ears twitching at any slightest movements in the grass. Elise was tucked safely away in Kennedy's arms, dozing peacefully after a relaxing dip in the springs. Neptune was also sleep, tucked safely away into his ball that was stuffed inside of Kennedy backpack.

Kennedy hoped she wouldn’t have to wake them, but she wasn’t just trailing the path for her health. She was looking for a new member to add to her team. Having just joined the league as a cadet, she knew she needed to expand her party. She had faith in her team, they had carried her almost completely through the hoenn league where they were wiped out by the first member of the elite four. But that had never discouraged her; she had planned on getting even stronger to one day try her hand again at the elite four.

But for now, the league had gave her purpose. Despite being the only child to a very rich and prominent father; the heir to Lilycove Department Store, she had no interest in the business. She wanted to be a gym leader, not a business owner. If only she could get her father to understand that.

It was Pegasus who had spotted the Hitmonlee; the pokemon looked like he had just finished battling. Covered in fresh scratches, he was rubbing his legs down, easing the muscles after using them so fiercely. The fire equine halted, twitching his ears at the Hitmonlee who was still covered in soot from his rumble. He scraped the ground with his hooves, letting out a grunt as he sized the fighting type up. "Don't." Kennedy's voice was swift and calm. Hitmonlee was an okay pokemon, but she didn't feel that spark when you just know a pokemon was meant for you. Who was she to battle it, capture it, and take its out its domain? Celeste slinked herself in front of Pegasus, giving him a gentle nudge in the other direction - away from the Hitmonlee. Pegasus gave a reluctant groan, casting the Hitmonlee one last look before trotting off upon Celeste's guidance. Maybe the next one.

Kennedy's sky blue hues had been focused on her cell phone, reading important emails regarding jobs from the league and business matters her father tried to keep her in the loop about. But as she scrolled down the mobile app, her phone started to react poorly. It glitched and slowed, causing Kennedy to frown in worry. Now was not the time she needed to worry about buying a new phone. Not that she didn't have money - her father was rich after all. She just rather not have to beg 'Daddy' for money and she did have bills to pay. Elise was still sleeping cozily in one of her arms as she tried to balance the baby mouse without waking her. The cause of the malfunction of her phone soon came into view - an Kadabra focused on the spoon gripped tightly in his hands as he tried to strengthened his psychic powers. "This way guys." She changed their course again, diverting them away from the Kadabra which returned her phone back to its proper performance. Was there not anything around here for her?

Her heart fluttered, eyes round with disbelief at the sight of the Slowking as he walked through the ash covered grass, head high and an air of regal radiating off of him as he trotted head high with the shellder clamped securely atop his head. To see the sight of what Neptune could be gave her a ray of hope. She had no intentions on evolving Neptune into a Slowking, she had always thought Slowbro was a bit cuter. She had wished Neptune was more aware of his decision on his evolution, but since he was not she surely had to make the difficult choice. But to see the alternate version of Neptune made Kennedy feel like she did not have to choose. She could have both. "He's the one." She whispered breathlessly, looking down at Elise in her arms.

"Elise, Elise, wake up sweetheart." She shuffled the Dedenne in her arms, forcing the sleeping mouse awake. Elise squeaked in protest, blinking her eyes open as she glared up at her trainer for waking her. "I need your help little one." Kennedy ignored her glare. Elise would make quick and light work of the water-type, and she rather make it as quick and easy as possible so they may make they way back down the mountain.

Kennedy lifted Elise up in her arms, forcing her to look at the Slowking that was lost in his thoughts and minding his business. "Thunder." She let Elise go, allowing the small rodent pokemon to go charging towards the Slowking. Ash sprung up as she drove through the grass, alerting the Slowking as he turned to see the Dedenne running towards him. "Oh dear, I did not expect this today." He commented to himself, the red gem on the shellder atop his head glowed before it fired out a ray of energy.

The Power Gem had taken Elise by surprise as she stumbled to dodge it and failed, taking the full force of the attack as she stumbled and rolled in the grass. Her legs trembled to get up as she winced, obviously hurt by the fire in her eyes burned even brighter. Elise's cheeks sparked before her body became shrouded by electricity. She shrieked as she pointed her head at the sky, summoning forth a large bolt of electricity from the sky that came down directly upon Slowking, sending his body jolting and frying with the force of the move.

Kennedy quickly pulled out her empty pokeball, tossing it at the gravely injured pokemon.
