a ditto transformed into a maractus stands before priam, obtaining the original's earlier cotton guard as well. the armor of fluff protects them from the obstacles they face in this course.

”Yeah this might be fun.” Samuel chimed in after Priam’s attempt to rally Marcel. He wasn’t really sure what they had called him to help out with and was skeptical at first but he came around to it.

It definitely helped that the others were making this a lot more entertaining.

Samuel called out his Audino and had the Pokémon use PSYCH UP on Maractus, replicating the effects of the other Pokémon’s Cotton Guard.

he is so very, very glad that altaria can fly. dominic smiles vaguely at the pokemon, and he swears that the expression it wears is on its bird features is concern so he reaches out and gives it a pat on the beak.

"sports... sports... sports are fun," he says haltingly and with little conviction.

casting another long look at its trainer, the altaria fluffs up its wings with COTTON GUARD.

"sports, sports, sports!" priam continues dominic's chant.

the ditto's maractus form gets another layer of cotton guard. priam's tempted to touch it, but he reminds himself that he should be more focused on the course.

"there's three people here. there's no way no one will just ignore you when you fall," he tells marcel. priam knows that it isn't exactly true considering the people he was with, however.

”Yeah don’t worry about it Marcel! If you fall one of us will just pick you and put you right back on your……” He almost finished that sentence if it hadn’t been for how the admin already looked queasy and they hadn’t really started.

”Feet! You’ll be fine!” Samuel didn’t need anyone to tell him that he wasn’t all that reassuring, he already knew.

In the meantime he had his Audino used PSYCH UP again on Priam's Maractus to copy its continuing increase in defense.

dominic's altaria flutters over near marcel, its wings soft fluffed up by another COTTON GUARD. the pokemon is likely a more reassuring presence than its trainer ever had been.

swaying near the edge of the platform, dominic very literally felt like he was AT DEATH'S DOOR. he glances up at his team a little too quickly and nearly stumbles.

"we've got you, mon chou."

he doesn't sound convinced.
