Katherine continued to graze her nail against Lance's skin, in hopes of sending light shivers up his arm— and perhaps even make him tremble lightly.

"Seriously? Mean?"

"Mm... I don't know, I think I disagree." Is her biased opinion asked for? Not really. Is she still giving it? Of course she is. "I let you win that duel, you know. I wouldn't have done that if I was mean." It sounds quite out of character for Katherine to give someone else an opportunity to gloat, but it's hard to tell whether if she's honest or not.

She holds herself with grace, smiling all while continuing her gentle assault on Lance.

"I can still do this while we eat." The meat is flipped during her announcement, causing the sizzling sound to grow louder. "You should know how good I am at multitasking."

will her grace withstand his words that look to tear down her walls? the way he looks at her might help: teasing, goading, the smirk just tops it off.

lance doesn't cower at her words. he meets them head on. "we won't be eating. i'm just waiting for the meat to be done." he glances back at the grill for the briefest of moments. "thirty seconds."

After all, they just met that day. Back then, she didn't know Lance well enough to give him a free pass for anything other than his charm and looks. "Huh?" There was a change in their plans and Katherine wasn't even aware of it? There are a couple of ideas that can justify it, but only one pops in her mind.

"Aw. Are we skipping dinner and going straight for dessert then?"

There's not a hint of disappointment in her tone. For all she cared, he could leave the steak to dry out on the grill.

[attr="class","lance i"]thirty seconds pass. lance moves whatever's on the grill to plates and sets them aside for later. for now, he has more pressing things on his mind. her, for example.

lance moves towards her and there's no hesitation in how he lowers himself to lift her entire body up. he expects her legs to wrap around him but a hand lowers to support her anyway, precisely placed. his eyes lock with hers as he carries her towards the bedroom. his movements seem rushed. hungry. his lips find hers.

She guesses correctly.

His eyes meet with hers, their lips grow closer and her heart begins to beat faster. It's not just his eyes she cares for now, here. It's the whole package— it's Lance himself. Katherine feels something and she's past the point of being frustrated over having feelings. She won't concern herself with right or wrong anymore.

The temptation to break away from him and say something dumb about his room is high, but it's almost as if her lips have a will of their own and choose the alternative.

[attr="class","lance i"]katherine keeps true to her promise. the state of his room afterwards is a travesty. sheets pulled, clothes scattered, it's a miracle the pillows are right where they're supposed to be. he shifts his head further into one, though the comfort it provides is miniscule compared to hers.

"you were right." he tilts his head to the side, peering over at her. "i like the place more now."

There's no ghost-type aiding Katherine with the task of messing up Lance's place. It's just him and her trashing his apartment. Clothes thrown around, the bed losing its covers - it all comes to her naturally, and she never once stops to think whether if she should do this or that.

"I think... I prefer your bed over mine." She knew it had more to do with his company rather than the mattress, but still.

She feels her head sinking deep into a soft pillow, her lavender eyes locking with Lance's gaze.

"you should visit more often." but with recent developments at his job, that offer might be redundant. he shifts a little closer to her, embracing her warmth.

Katherine feels her lips naturally curve upwards. It's strange, she is so used to faking smiles that a normal one almost feels foreign to her. "I will." She corrects herself. Her eyes have grown heavier, and to make things worse, temptation ate at her heart, pleading a case for her to stay in bed with Lance.

They could easily forget about their plans and spend their vacation arguing here whether if they should order food or cook it instead.

It lingers at the tip of her tongue, but she says nothing.
