slateport is their -- rocket's -- first target. it's a good foothold though different from the likes they had in kanto. instead of a city in the center of the region it's a port on the edges and that means they need to build a way in. she stares across the narrow stretch of water separating the shore she stands on from one not much more than a stone's throw away with that in mind.
once they take that city they need to blitz inland and take as much as possible as quickly as possible. assuming their success, the league will be off balance and left scurrying back towards safe land. if they chase and push ceaselessly they can keep them that way but how is a question difficult to answer. mauville is a fortress, one that won't be taken directly. her eye turns to the water again.
this could be promising, but the how again lingers just out of grasp. she hopes her "partner" for the day will let her think peacefully for a few moments longer.
