a decisive BRICK BREAK slams into the side of the gem, dislodging it away from steelix's body. it bounces along steel before dropping to the ground with a sad thud.

almost foolishly, danny lunges for it, wanting to keep it safe from being smashed by the steelix.

where she waddles, he glides. it takes little effort for him to maneuver around the frozen lake, sliding across with a surprising amount of grace.

he ends up beside her, slowing down to a waddle.

"so you're going to want to...sort of just slide your feet."

only now does he realize it might be a bit difficult to explain.

"lean forward a bit so you don't fall back."

gently, he reaches for her waist to help her into a more suitable position for skating.

he raises his arm to shield his eyes. he's barely able to make out the shapes but he sees the round form of his clobbopus sliding closer and closer to the gem. it BULKS UP, ready to strike at the gem in a few moments.
