the obstacle course definitely looks...interesting. danny's only just got a good look at it and he's actually second-guessing his decision to participate. the thought of tripping and embarrassing himself is...a bit much.

but he calls out a pokemon regardless.

it's only then that danny notices the menu. he glances up, studying the two choices for moments.

"i hear pineapple's really refreshing, so maybe that?"

and then he realizes how it might seem that he's leading her away from the crowd...

danny starts sweating.

"cool! let's head over there then."

was that too enthusiastic? he wonders as he starts walking.

"i'm danny."

[attr="class","danny"]danny is usually much more vocal than he's being right now but for whatever reason...the other trainer just makes him want to shut up and never speak again.

"just...same thing."

no nickname either.

grimmsnarl's a bit confused but nods regardless as he watches the LEECH SEED sprout. he closes the distance to throw the first POWER-UP PUNCH.

danny fishes out a pokeball, pops it open.

[attr="class","danny"]danny takes a moment to recall the exeggutor.

grimmsnarl takes the BUG BUZZ, bracing through the worst of the pain before closing the distance to throw a final SPIRIT BREAK.

[attr="class","danny"]danny withdraws the whiscash; he had done his part.

the NIGHT SLASH cracks the barrier, breaking it before it impacts against exeggutor. thankfully, the barrier had done enough to reduce the damage, so exeggutor quickly returns a LEAF STORM.

the TAKE DOWN is so close to fainting the grimmsnarl. he feigns defeat, takes a step back after to bow his head only to admit FALSE SURRENDER — a spike of hair shoots out at the metang.

he nods, then swiftly turns to lead them over to an empty battlefield.

"what's uh...your name, sir?"

[attr="class","danny"]in typical movie fashion, the exeggutor runs over and leaps to take the FLYING PRESS for the grimmsnarl. the move knocks the grass-type out, but makes it so grimmsnarl's able to withstand the pain of the WHIRLWIND.

"eggheads you beast!"

if only eggheads could hear him...

grimmsnarl seeks revenge and slaps the hawlucha with a SPIRIT BREAK.

[attr="class","danny"]the BUG BUZZ is loud and invasive and it shakes exeggutor to his core. the grass-type retaliates and sends another LEAF STORM blowing their way.

grimmsnarl decides to meet the ENDEAVOR head-on. literally. he FALSE SURRENDERS and once again sends a spike of hair out right as the ENDEAVOR connects.

[attr="class","danny"]hawlucha finally snaps out of its confusion and comes for the grimmsnarl.

the FLYING PRESS connects, catching grimmsnarl off guard. at the attack, grimmsnarl decides to bow in a FALSE SURRENDER before a spike of hair shoots out at the hawlucha.

exeggutor sends a simple EGG BOMB over hawlucha's way as well.

[attr="class","danny"]BUG BUZZ hurts a lot; more than exeggutor expects and it sweeps him off his feet. he lands on his butt, bouncing just once before he summons up a LEAF STORM in retaliation, targeting the hawlucha again.

"stay focused!"

grimmsnarl continues the assault on hawlucha — SPIRIT BREAKING it.

[attr="class","danny"]the GUST terribly hurts exeggutor, cutting off bits of his leaves on his head. one of his heads cry out in pain while the other two use EXTRASENSORY on the hawlucha.

"focus on the hawlucha!"

grimmsnarl nods then closes the distance to throw the first punch of a SPIRIT BREAK.
