Pyre and take the photos himself.” While the words come with a chuckle, Vic wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case, because while he himself may not mind the mountain in the slightest, he knows well that some people wouldn’t even step near it if given a choice.

For a second, he wonders where Izzy falls with all that, since he did ask him to come here as a guide…

”Have you ever been here before, by the way?” His curiosity wins, as it always seems to do – a smile being given to his companion before continuing on his way down the path. With each step, he takes care not to step on the Salandit, letting the pokémon do its thing while not really minding its presence at all.

It’s the hissing of the pair of Dreepy within the Dragapult’s horns that alerts him to the presence of another dragon. Within the cavities, they excitedly smack their little tails against the walls, making it sound as if there were rattling coming directly from the Dragapult’s horns. The latter doesn’t seem too pleased about it, but he does no more than lazily and slowly shake his head, as if he really couldn’t be bothered.

”Oh. It’s a Drampa!”

Up above, the Drampa calmly soars through the skies, probably not expecting the DRAGON DARTS that come flying towards it soon enough. They smack against its side in an explosive greeting, and watching the scene, Vic lets out a sigh.

”Little dudes, come on! What have we said about doing that?”

Now, where are his spare Heal Balls?

Nearly slapped in the face by a bug only to then be nearly slapped in the face by fish that just so happened to jump out of the water at the wrong time. That’s just the way it goes, isn’t it?

Vic is not one to swear often, but the way his Dragapult comes to a sudden halt in order to avoid the Seaking startles him. Hell, he almost ends up smacking his face right against the dragon’s back. Being mere centimetres away from its scales, he sighs.

And so, they continue on beneath the Hoenn sun, and even though they’ll soon reach their destination, it’s then when Vic realizes he’ll probably have something akin to a farmer’s tan by the time this is done. Shouldn’t have forgotten to wear sunblock, right?

Like a bug about to smash against the windshield of a car going at top speed, the Ledian flies right in their path. It surprises Vic, and all he can do is hold on while he guides his Dragapult in order to avoid a potential collision with the bug.

It’s like when they flew into that swarm of Archeops back in Mt. Chimney. The same Archeops that caused the thin scar now marking his arm.

”Woah! Woah! Down!”
[break][break]
And down they go, the Dragapult’s belly even touching the water and causing it to splash all over...

Not like Vic minds, of course, since he’s too preoccupied with letting out a sigh of relief, perhaps even going as far as raising a silent prayer in thanks for the fact that nothing happened to them or the Ledian.

And so, it seems as if the wolf that had been terrorizing the sweet and fluffy rolling sheep was no more than a very violent Zigzagoon, but for all they know there could be a whole pack of them lurking around the farm.

Vic sure as hell can’t imagine it, because while he may not be the most active person online (mostly because he finds it all kind of boring after a few minutes), he does often post pictures and use things like those to keep up with the lives of his family and friends alike.

I would offer to have one of my Flying pokémon take you back to town, but I’d worry about them finding their way back to camp in the dark.” He’d worry about that and not about the possibility of this person he just met potentially trying to steal his pokémon. Since, well, he trusts Izzy wouldn’t, but he also trusts in the strength of his larger flying pokémon.

Once he’s done with his curry, Vic stretches up, setting his plate aside as he watches the other stand.

Is he asking for his number?
[break][break]
Oh.
[break][break]
Looking down at Izzy, he only takes a couple of seconds to consider before smiling once again. ”Sure! Just pass me your phone and I’ll add it for you. Text me if anything, yeah? Would be good to know if you made it safely back to town.”

It’s not that other possible reasons why Izzy might ask for his number don’t cross his mind, but his concern is genuine all the same, and after entering his number and exchanging goodbyes, the ranger is left wondering if he should have risked leaving the camp unattended and escorted the other back to town just to be safe.

So, as he heads into his tent to sleep, Vic texts him in case it’s needed.
