Kanoa’s eyes lingered a bit on the worker as he began to give his recommendations, noting his general look and the way that he carried himself, since her father always told her that you can tell what kind of person someone is by the way that they carry themselves. But her attention was caught between the wonderful aroma of the café and the Raichu that seemed to be having a wonderful time enjoying the pancakes that the worker mentioned as an option. What was more interesting though, at least when the young ranger decided to take a closer look at the Pokémon, was that it was an Alolan Raichu.

Kanoa’s eyes widened as she turned back toward the worker with a smile, running her hands through the Arcanine’s hair while she thought it over. “You know what. I think Haoa here will have to try the pancakes. And I… well…” The young woman’s eyes trail over the menu for a moment, taking a good look at all the choices, and to be honest, none of them made her choice any easier. Everything on the menu looked really good! “I’m not going to lie, all of the options you have here look really good… But I think I’ll have Seared Arrokuda Sparkling Berry & Fruit Juice. Though if I were to recommend any expansions to your menu I think adding some more fish wouldn’t be a bad idea. I can give you some recommendations on recipes too, if you’d be okay with that. I’m not a cook myself but my mom is an amazing one!”

Hoenn was certainly a surprising place, filled to the brim with people and places that she hadn’t thought would be there, with a surprising number of people from all around the world that seemed to call this place their home. It wasn’t too different to Alola, with her time there being spent with a wide variety of people, some having been born and raised there while others had moved from other regions for whatever reason. But Hoenn seemed to be a bit different in that aspect, it seemed like it was a mashup of all the regions around the world, with many people having come here and made their own little mark. It was easy for Kanoa to spot the Alolan influences, whether it be the food stalls or the regional pokemon that were present here, there was a lot that reminded her of home, which made it so hard to feel like she had truly left.

The young ranger sat on the edge of the boardwalk with the waves from Slateport Beach lightly brushing up against her bare feet as Nalani had been comfortably resting in her lap and Kahale made himself comfortable in her lap. The beaming rays of the sun had been nostalgic, and she could almost hear the sounds of her father calling out to her from his rickety old fishing boat. "Do you think it was a mistake to come here you guys..? Maybe we should have waited a few more years? Spent more time at home?" Kanoa would gaze up at her rowlet and down at her rockruff, the two tilting their heads at her. "Right... I'm probably just being silly."

As one of the many options for a first stop to mark her entry into Hoenn, Slateport City was definitely one of the top choices, with the already being a wonderful reminder of home for both her and her pokemon. For most of the day the young woman had been wandering around, cruising on her switchboard through the streets whilst taking in the wonderful breeze on such an amazing day, her eyes capturing the bright atmosphere while her ears absorbed all the sounds around her. Taking a joyride on her switchboard was obviously going to take some toll on her and her pokemon, especially with the way that Kanoa became lost in it, simply letting the allure of the city drag her around while Haoa followed swiftly behind as fast as it could.

Not only was she beginning to get hungry, but so were her friends, and that’s when her nose had caught a whiff of something, some delicious scent that didn’t help the Alolan’s growing appetite. Following it, Kanoa and Haoa were guided to the edge of the dock, where the smell continued to linger above the water and towards the docked boats near the beach. Haoa immediately barked, running over to the scent and scratching at the door until someone or Kanoa herself would open it. It seemed like the smell was coming froma homey little place called the Sunshower Cafe, where Kanoa would enter once she had finally arrived at the entrance to the establishment. She would look around a bit, curious about its interior and decorations until her eyes caught those of the guy who probably worked here. “Hey uh… do you guys have anything for a pokemon to eat? I dunno if the stuff ya serve here would be somethin’ appealing to Haoa over here.” The ranger cadet would pet her the large Arcanine, whose tongue seemed to be hanging out a bit with whimsy.

Kanoa loves to skate and takes her fancy "switchboard" wherever she goes. This switchboard is a bit of a marvel of modern tech that's heavier than the average board, but that's because it can swap between both a regular skateboard and a longboard, allowing her to take it on all kinds of different terrain, not just in the streets!

Kanoa is a big fan of seafood and is a bit of a picky eater when it comes to her favorite cuisine, as her mother was a chef who specialized in making some of the most delicious fish that her father brought home from his fresh catches.

Kanoa was born and raised in the Alolan Region, hailing from Hau'oli City where she spent much of her time growing up relatively comfortable, with loving and supportive parents who watched over her well, opening her mind to traditions as well as keeping up with the modern age. While her mother was a chef, her father was a fisherman who spent most of his downtime training his favorite pokemon, Haoa; an Arcanine that he had been training when he was a teenager. Like many of the youth of Alola, Kanoa had a lust for adventure and wanted to see more than the islands she knew well. There were some conditions set by her family though, and that was to find some stable footing, and to bring along some friends from home. Kanoa agreed, and eventually found her calling as a Ranger cadet of Hoenn, and along the way meeting the rest of her friends and partners: Nalani, her Rowlett, Aukai, her Tirtouga, and finally Kahale, her Rockruff; a parting gift from her parents.[break][break]
