there really is no difference at all, and instead of digging himself into a deeper hole, he decides to do the smart thing and keeps his mouth shut.

"all good! very little effort needed."

through the bedroom, and into the bathroom they go.

"and we're here."

he smiles, kissing her neck once again.

"what? no, no, i was saying i was too weak to carry you before."

leave it to uri to get flustered even at the simplest of teases. he sighs, laughing shortly after.

"alright."

his hand slides down to rest at her waist, holding on while he slowly rises to his feet. he does his best not to grunt, but he does, and it isn't out of exasperation or anything. he's just tired...

"see?"

and with that, his hands move to support her weight before he starts walking over and into the bedroom.

uri doesn't flinch when he's hit, but he does act like it hurts a little more than it should.

"ow."

but a smirk accompanies it.

"you know, i've been training quite a lot since i left the military..."

he leans back if only to look into her eyes.

"want me to carry you there?"

nah, she would, and he'll still appreciate her all the same even after.

"can't believe you're about to hit my poor heart."

he sighs, exaggerating.

"it's getting late. wanna shower?"

uri will stay. always.

he chuckles when she teases him. a smirk mirrors onto his expression as his arms tighten around her.

"i'll be stuck to you like this all night."

more kisses are placed on her head.

"you'll have to pry me off."

as long as they stay here, wrapped up in each other's arms, in the safety and comfort of their own little bubble, then maybe things could always be this peaceful.

it's a good thing uri has no intentions on ever leaving.

"i really want you to."

he kisses her head, gentle.

"i like sleeping next to you."

they can definitely watch it again some other time, but it's also likely it'll end the same way it did today. not that he minds.

he exhales, content as he caresses the back of her head.

"it really is."

it's everything he's ever wanted.

smiling, he asks:

"will you stay the night?"

nothing more needs to be said.

the movie plays on in the background, the luxray peacefully sleeps (only slightly disturbed but thankfully, kachow is a heavy sleeper), and all is well.

by the time his eyes return to the tv, the movie's already well into its third act.

still, his attention remains elsewhere.

"i think we make each other better."

her breath rolls off his ear, accompanied by words that just has him falling even more. he tilts his head to kiss her neck, slowly, playfully, before nodding.

"i do."

"ha. ha. very funny. i know you enjoy it."

or at least he hopes she does...there will always be a small part of him that feels insecure about himself, but he does his best to push those thoughts away.

it's easier to when she cups his cheeks like that.

"how so?"

the kiss on his cheek makes him feel warm.

"hmmm, i mean i've had sex before."

a few times, actually, but he's not about to disclose all their names to her.

"but this was the first time i cooked for my partner if we don't count that one morning."

they weren't dating then so he's not too sure if he should count it. still, it's a nice memory to look back on.

"first time i'm actually trying to be a better person and to do things."

the compliments are unexpected, and so when they come his way, his attention departs from the movie as well. he turns to look at her, unable to hide the goofy smile on his face.

"wow that's three compliments in a row, sol. are you okay?"

he chuckles, then kisses her cheek.

"nah. a lot of my firsts are going to be with you."

uri's never been particularly good with girls. even at frat parties, despite being the life of the party, he could never find anyone to date. but that could be because he'd often blackout and forget the night before.
