"adorable."

their carefree joy is shortlived as AIR CUTTER slices toward them, blocked by machamp's quick reactions. the attacks cut into machamp's green skin, damaging but not nearly enough to take the fighting-type out.

"no time to waste," he doesn't have a pokemon that can actually fly so this will have to do, "hop on!"

they climb onto his dodrio before darting out of there.

and without much of a warning, he tips over, dunking her over his shoulder and into the warm waters of slateport. the resulting splash almost reaches his face but not quite.

his laughter booms.

his attention shifts to the flicker of pale white that comes from outside, and while it should spark curiosity, movement of any kind in this realm could lead to danger.

"we should be careful."

his machamp steps out of its pokeball to lead the way.

outside, they are greeted with what appears to be both kartana and celesteela, except far smaller than the ones that loom overhead.

"...maybe they are babies?"

she teases him and he does the same in return, except he resorts to reaching down and picking her up instead to hoist her over his shoulder like one would a sack of potatoes.

"i wonder how long ago these were abandoned..."

he looks around at the dilapidated space.

"...and why they were."

27 discover dilapidated bunkers underground or in the jungle. these bunkers have been made by megalopolans seeking shelter from the heat, the humidity, and ultra beasts.

28 discover a vast field filled with impossibly large celesteela that dwarf you inside. periodically, some will launch.
