yeah, he's a dumbass, even more so when he's drunk. but he's a hundred percent sure he repeated that word correctly, or at least from what he remembers it sounding like.

he's not looking to get punched; he thinks this and yet the next words escape him without any restraints.

"name a time and a place and i'll be there. hopefully you'll work on your throw a bit before then."

instinctively, he brings a hand up to his shoulder to defend himself. not sure why he thinks it's his shoulder she'd hit when it's most likely his face...

"night's not over, sol. there's an empty table right there."

[attr="class","uriah"]to be honest it most likely just is cranberry vodka poured into two fancy glasses. it's a shocker the bar even has these glasses in the first place, and briefly, uriah wonders just how clean they are...

but the alcohol in them pretty much makes the glass clean, right?

he laughs at her words too; genuine confusion washing over his features.

"the fuck is that? is that even a real word?"

it probably is. it's not like sol to make up words.

he sips from his glass, slower than usual as if to prolong the moment.

"you got yourself drunk. if only you were better at beer pong..."

[attr="class","uriah"]it's definitely not the fanciest of cocktails; quite the opposite, given how this bar isn't exactly known for their ability to make drinks. if anything, this is the absolute wrong place to order something as delicate as a cosmopolitan.

because after a sip, the only thing he can taste is the vodka.

"holy fuck yeah that's just vodka."

which he almost never drinks. in fact, does he really drink anything besides cheap beer?

he holds back a cough, chuckling instead as he suddenly realizes how close they are. he hadn't realized it earlier but it feels...nice.

"you might have to carry me out of here."

he holds his gaze, chuckling as he says:

"i'm sure you could make it on your own, but sure, i'll carry you."

he takes her smirk as enough of an acceptance, so without waiting for a response, he steps away to approach the bar, leaning against it to order them their next drinks. he waits there for a moment but soon returns not with two beers, but with two very fancy-looking cocktails.

"i know how much you love fancy cocktails so i got you this. i think this is a cosmo."

grinning, he extends one over to her.

"i'm not that good. remember i missed that one shot?"

on purpose, but still.

"a little dizzy as well, but never better."

he looks over to their table from earlier, noticing the empty glasses of beer. fuck, can he even drink more? should he drink more? probably not, but like her, he also doesn't want it to be over.

so, foolishly, he looks back to her to ask:

"you down for one more drink?"

[attr="class","uriah"]it's definitely a rare sight and it's one that immediately pulls him in. without anything to catch onto, naturally, he falls more than he already has.

with a grin still gracing his features, he laughs.

"...my bad."

not really.

he can't remember the last time he had this much fun. it's for that reason, and her, that he doesn't want it to end.

with a chuckle, he approaches, sliding a hand across the table to pick up the ball on his way.

"how you feeling?"

"i'm doing no such thing."

still, he knows she knows, and he knows better than to purposefully miss the next one as well.

so with the same grin, he tilts his head, looks at the last cup, then tosses the ball right into it.

beer splashes, signifying his victory.

"guess you owe me dinner now."

he's allowed a moment to gather himself after the ball sinks into the cup, breathing a sigh of relief before laughing. he shakes his head; eyes feigning a glare.

"don't you dare."

and then she sinks one in return. his head hangs low for a long while before he accepts it. picking up the cup, he downs the beer in one.

"fuck that was bad but we're good, we're good."

even in his drunken state, he understands that if he's to sink this next shot, then the game would be over, and likely, their night. he doesn't want it to end just yet.

so he misses the shot on purpose, though does his best to put on an act, which isn't difficult to do.

"shit i was close."

[attr="class","uriah"]he's handsome, knows how to have a good time, and he treats his pokemon right even if they don't listen to him. fixed that for you.

plus, he is really good at beer pong. if only sol knew she was playing against canalave university's beer pong champion, which is impressive because he didn't even attend.

"the way you said my name. you should do it more."

he watches her miss her next throw, leaving both of them with three cups each.

"i dunno. guess i don't have as much fun as i'm having now."

his grin lingers, then grows as he bounces the ball into her cup.

"i really like steak, by the way, just so you know when you're choosing which restaurant to take me to."

he shakes his head, grinning.

his laugh is cut short when she sinks her next shot. he peers down at the cup, sighing.

"fuuuuuuck."

oh well. there's nothing he can do but drink.

this time, he blindly tosses the ball while drinking, not even bothering to look because he knows it's going in.

unsurprisingly, it does.

"keep drinking. also, that was very cute."

but he nods regardless, understanding it's not in his place to deny, at least not right now.

after they're done cleaning these memorials, of course.

[attr="class","uriah"]even though he says nothing, he appreciates how she's making it just a little easier for him to reach for the popcorn. he's not as mindful as she is, though he would not have noticed regardless as he's too engrossed in the movie.

only to be pulled away from it by her whisper.

"i dunno. maybe she's scared, or something."

he returns the whisper, leaning closer to her.

"the better question is why is she even there in the first place?"
