her response has him laughing, smirk growing wider with arrogance because this is his element, as sad as that might sound. his eyes follow the ball, watching it spin in his cup before dropping it.

"fuck."

chuckling, he picks up the cup and downs it all the same before sliding it into the stack.

"let me know if you wanna slow down a little. i can miss for you if you want, sol."

another toss, another cup for her to drink.

he does try to swipe at her toss only to miss it completely, perhaps distracted by her slight smirk. he groans as the ball falls into one of his cups.

"i actually think beer pong takes a good amount of skill. i can tell you've played a bit before."

sighing, he picks up the two cups and downs them one after the other, which is probably not the best idea.

"i wouldn't try bouncing it again."

it's a friendly warning that's accompanied by a smirk of his own.

he stacks the empty cups together, placing them off to the side before tossing the ball straight into one of her cups in the back row.

"okay i wasn't ready for that."

he chuckles but picks it up all the same. he fishes for the ball, holding it between his fingers before he tips the cup back. at the same time, he subtly bounces the ball across the table, finding one of her cups.

his cup lowers, revealing a joyful smile.

"i think that's two for you."

[attr="class","uriah"]oh yeah, uriah is definitely the type to try hard, hence the stretching. gotta make sure he's loose and ready to throw the ping pong ball without any hindrances.

the wager is simple:

"loser buys dinner."

he steps to the side of the table, approaching her with a smile. extending out the ping pong ball, he adds:

"as friends."

[attr="class","uriah"]it's not so much his name that's cute but rather the way she says it. or maybe it's just her that's cute. either way, uriah makes no further comments on it, perhaps too flustered to continue that conversation.

thankfully, their focus moves over to the beer pong table, and after a quick shout to the burly barkeep, cups are soon filled up with cheap beer as the two of them take their positions across each other.

knowing very well he's likely going to win...

"wanna wager something?"

and with a smirk, he stretches his arms before finishing the rest of his beer.

despite the emotionless tone that he's come to expect, there's no denying how it makes him blush. again, he makes no attempts to hide it.

"fuck that's cute."

another sip as he nods.

"of course, captain einarsdóttir."

and then he gestures over to the beer pong table right next to them.

[attr="class","uriah"]whatever she may be feeling is lost on him. he's now too focused on the movie; eyes glued to the screen as it plays out in front of him, and damn is it good.

he leans over every once in a while to pluck popcorn from the bag, but like a good moviegoer, he doesn't speak.

he teases but soon shrugs a shoulder.

"waiting for you. had to make sure you didn't get lost."

offering her a smile, he extends the bag over.

[attr="class","uriah"]uriah doesn't mind; it's better to go now than later when the movie starts. so he watches her disappear out the theatre, though he quickly worries about her getting lost on the way back, and so soon follows after her.

he chuckles then, shaking his head as he reaches for his new drink as well.

"are you going to start calling me uri now?"

he doesn't even notice the drinks being placed.

never a doubt in his mind. but it still makes him happy to hear.

at her question, he nods.
