he sighs, bringing a hand up to wipe tears off her cheek.

"it would be easier if you did."

[attr="class","niko i"]when her head falls back to rest against his shoulder, he's leaning down enough to dote kisses against her neck, tongue flicking out to drag down to her collarbone. their height difference, along with the limited space around them, makes it more challenging than it needs to be.

it's for that reason that he pulls her even close, craving all she provides him.

under the cover of music and darkness, his hand slides further down her body, venturing deeper, and deeper.

and so he does, falling, bringing her down with him as their backs hit warm grass. it's where they find themselves for the time being, and after, when the fire's started to dwindle down, it's where they remain, in each other's arms.

"fuckin' hell."

he exhales, chuckling.

"guess you really did miss me."

once again, he gestures to himself.

"built like a fuckin' giant. i can't sneak for shit without tripping over something."

almost on cue, he kicks an empty can that had somehow found its way onto the sidewalk. people really gotta stop littering.

he nods.

"a cop. man's off duty, just chilling at his favorite bar."

then grins.

"makes him ripe for the pickin'."

[attr="class","niko i"]his hand wraps around hers which seems so tiny in comparison. scarred, bruised, and worn, the roughness of his hand contrasts hers. gently, he draws circles on the back of her hand as swirls of dream mist appears.

it's then, as she asks her question, that his ditto TRANSFORMS into a manectric.

"a pack of them, looks like."

his other hand goes to release his corviknight who immediately takes to the skies.

"we gotta lure them away. think you can cry out for them? get them to head to you?"

"come on."

the pause he takes is purposeful, as though making her wait would somehow make the reward even sweeter.

then, after a moment, he finally says, bordering a whisper:

"whatever you want."

"that easy, huh?"

somehow, it makes him happy to hear. it shows in the way he smiles at her; for once, it's not as dominant as it usually is.

"you haven't even heard my offer."

[attr="class","niko i"]no, it's probably not right to leave things like this, but he finds it difficult to pull away. still, though, if only to placate her worries, he does take a small step back.

"i'm sure it's nothing."

but to be sure, he calls out his ditto, who blinks for a few moments before sliding along the grass towards her mareep.

he holds his hand out towards her, inviting.

"come on."

"what about them?"

some more wooloo cry out in the near distance.

"they'll be fine."

said as though he willed them to be fine.

"come work for me."

he brushes her cheek, caressing.

"verdanturf's much nicer than this toilet of a city. plus, you'll get more of me."
