rose-colored cheeks became strong tinge of red. she had been taken aback by his response. from the look of shock to embarrassment, she couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter. dylan sayer found a way to constantly surprise her. for only knowing him for such a short time. evelyn, appreciating his company, had been devoid of worry and doubt. her mind now at ease by the fellow artist.

an oath sworn through their intertwined fingers, it was time to head to the stadium in order to prepare for the show. evelyn would use her cellular device to call back their ride. once the driver returned they were then off to wardrobe once at the stadium. there were many people there. from the crowd that was here to see the show, one would notice the paprazzi ferociously flashing the pair with their camera. evelyn and dylan sayer were then escorted to the backstage once inside.

"knock their socks off, dylan sayer!" evelyn encouraged him as they went their separate ways. she had to go prepare for her set, after all. though, he would see her again very soon before he had to debut himself.

some moments later, it was almost time. evelyn, standing from her seat, stood before a mirror in order to examine the attire she would adorn (front + back). her hair, wavily styled, had been allowed to flow. no longer did she don her earlier attire. this one possessed volume, length, and bounce with each step taken. she was beautiful and many backstage could not take their gaze off of her.

evelyn searched for dylan sayer upon finishing her final look. once she found her fellow co-star, she would walk over to greet him. upon reaching the area he was in, evelyn would say, "it's almost showtime rockstar." she teased the artist. doing a small twirl for her friend, she'd ask, "what do you think?" evelyn chuckled. she was ecstatic to see his performance. whether he blew it or not didn't concern her. she was just happy to be supporting her newfound friend's career. everyone had to start somewhere, right? those who selected dylan sayer had the utmost faith in him. so she wanted to trust her teams judgement.

"for you to be chosen as my opening act..." evelyn would stick her palm out to catch specks of snowflakes pouring from the sky, "...that means you have a lot of people who believe in you."

upon socializing with dylan and his worries. it made her remember a special flower she stumbled upon during her travels back in snowpoint city, "you know, when i visited snowpoint city, there was a rare flower i discovered: the snowdrops flower, also called galanthus, the gym leader there taught me that snowdrops must be planted in the fall for a very early spring show." he was practically the embodiment of them. "right now this is where you debut. this is an experience you'll use to mold yourself into something better, come the end of winter you'll have bloomed into something beautiful. just like your music!" like the galanthus flower, he was preparing to bloom. this show would be the place to plant his debut.

"have faith in yourself. the opening act is the most important role, after all. i'm gonna be relying on you." she would turn her back to dylan, "hey!" quickly she turned back, a smile worn. she would lean in, her hands behind her back, "hey, after your performance, i want you to listen to the song i'm going to perform. promise me you'll do that?" a pinky would be risen toward dylan sayer.

his kind attempt to reassure her from worries had been met with a smiling gratitude. though, see was a well-known singer to the people of hoenn. a recording was nothing. like her famous delilah, evelyn was equally famous within the music world. to her this was all but another day. the only difference that would help benefit her mood would be to see her siblings watching her in person.

deep down she knew her eldest brother FERNANDO SILPH was always watching from afar. he was the one that realized her ability when they were young. whether it was a political scheme to further expand the silph's name or not has yet to be determined, but she knew, deep down, her brother meant well. regardless, this conversation helped her a lot. it made her more calm.

with a soft smile and brighter gaze, she would come to take in the stranger's name, "dylan?" evelyn would absorb the name into her memory. upon learning that he was the opening act, she would excitedly clap her hands together. "it's so nice to meet you! what are the odds we'd meet so soon?!" she would grab hold of dylan's right palm. "where are my manners! it's always exciting to meet up and coming artists!" as excited as she was, she would ask, "are you sure you should be dabbling in social drinking before your performance, mr. dylan? we'll have to get ready soon." she wondered if he was nervous or the sort to dabble in narcotics before a big performance.

"a dragonite sounds about right." it reminded her of her dark past. a past she's not exactly proud to speak of, but that did not mean she wasn't proud of how she's grown and learned from it. suddenly, she would interrupt their time together to talk more seriously. holding his hand and pulling him gently back. evelyn's expression became a softly saddened look.

"i'm not sure actually. since my return i've felt a bit of heavy air around them." she was already worried about her eldest brother, but then there was MATIAS SILPH and Delilah Silph to think about. "the three of them seem to have a lot on their plate, but they're not exactly easy to talk to." hence why she wondered if kyle lopez knew anything, "it's why i asked about MATIAS SILPH. i wanted to know if you were aware of anything that i should be concerned about." after all, he'd tell her if she had anything to worry about when it came to her family.

she was merely taking a detour on her own. after all, rest was important and getting ready for a show was quite tedious. "preparing for a big event can be exhausting on the mental, so i thought i'd get some fresh air and have a bit of fun before heading to the venue." he seemed coherent enough to speak. maybe she was mistaken by her early assumption of him.

"though, to be honest," a melancholic gaze formed, "i wish my family were here. they're all quite busy, which is normal, of course." it was rare that she even had such a selfish desire. "it's unnatural for me to feel this way, but maybe that's because of the holiday." evelyn could practically feel the tension within her family after having only just returned. unfortunately, she had little understanding on the current situation within the silph familial relationship.

watching kyle from her peripherasl, she thought to herself. when did he get so tall? softly, she would caress his hand; did kyle always have such rugged, large hands? and then she wondered, behind that neutral face, did kyle always have such a strong air about him? she couldn't help but smile. it made her think about the past momentarily. since when did he become such an adult? when did he become so strong? evelyn would gently lean upon his shoulder as they walked side by side, whispering to herself, "you didn't have to grow up so fast, stupid..." and then he dropped the ball, quickly ruining their moment.

"huh?" evelyn stared at the wedding band. her, flushed, became almost as red as her hair. "m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-marriage!?" she wasn't sure how to react to that. there was so much to take in. the fact that kyle settled down, got married, or found someone who, shockingly, loved him for him. maybe that last part wasn't necessary, but it was a fair assessment. evelyn would grab his hand to examine the ring more better, "who's the poor s--lucky jirachi--that snagged your heart for life!?" evelyn was more worried about the person than kyle, "are you treating them well?! are they okay?! you're not giving them trouble are you?!" she'd pull kyle by the ear while bombarding him with questions.

"i'm sad that i haven't seen your sibling around since my return, when you can please give my love to them, mr. stone!" placing an arm around her old friend kyle lopez, she would add, "i'll handle this ruffian and keep him out of your way for a bit." and thus would they leave for the bar.

as they walked side by side, evelyn would ask, "so, tell me kyle lopez, i've missed so much and you've grown since the last time i was in hoenn." having heard many of kyle's notable achievements. evelyn wanted to hear them specifically from him. "and don't leave any details out. we have the whole night, after all." evelyn would say with enthusiasm, "top champion, huh? that's the last thing i would've imagined you'd become. has it been hard finding time for your games?"

lilycove city was hosting their annual winter festival. evelyn, whose publicist and managers informed the media of her return to hoenn, rallied the civilians. to learn that the songbird of the silph's was on her way back to her home region brought joy to many. evelyn was ecstatic to learn that her first performance back would be for a charitable reason. the event would be livestreamed for those outside of lilycove city. it would be throughout all of hoenn.

she was in a car, scheduled by FERNANDO SILPH, to drop her off at the concert venue she would be performing at. but the singer, known as eve by her fans, had other plans. "please stop the car," she insisted to the driver with a soft tone. the driver, surprised, had done as requested with weary and confusion. "don't worry, i'll make sure to make it to the venue in time. after all, i worked hard on this song. i can't disappoint my supporters." as she stepped out of the car, she would add, "i'm just going to explore the city for a bit. lilycove's the best place to get a gift, especially at this time of the year with all the pop-up shops opening today for the festival."

closing the door and sending the driver off, evelyn would begin to head toward the shopping district of lilycove. once there she would come to notice the bright scenery before her. evelyn, entranced by the decorations she witnessed upon her stroll, couldn't help but be amazed by the dazzling lights. the many families she witnessed together made her stop briefly in her footsteps.

the singer, adorning an adorable winter attire and black french beret, reached into her purse to takeout her cellular device. she pondered on texting FERNANDO SILPH, but thought it wouldn't be best to disturb him at this time. there was Delilah Silph, but there was a chance she, too, had also been busy. and then there was MATIAS SILPH as well. sadly, once more, she allowed her afterthoughts from before to stop her.

the songstress wore a sad expression upon staring at her phone. snowflakes began to gently rain from above as evelyn stood in front of a random store. as people walked by the civilian dressed singer, evelyn would come to look up to see a family together. she couldn't help but think about her family and the distance she felt between them all. they were all very busy people with a lot going on just like her. where evelyn tried to save those and fill others with hope through her music, who was there to ensure the safety of her family? who was there to keep it from breaking apart?

as evelyn continued to ponder her current thoughts. there was a sudden bump from the side that would cause her to drop her cellphone. "oh, i apologize!" the scarlet haired silph uttered with haste. "i didn't realize how long i'd been standing here."

a soft expression had been worn by the scarlet-haired silph. her auburn gaze, taking note of those within the room, viewed the scenery that unfolded before her. a gentle smile formed as the room, filled with familiar faces, encapsulated her with warmth. many would see, had they looked the scarlet silph's way, that she was draped within a formal garb that would capture her femininity; one would almost think that the songbird was on her way to a performance with how resplendent her dress looked.

she stood with poise alongside her sister and brother, but would come to direct her gaze toward kyle lopez. as Delilah Silph spoke to the scarlet silph, she would say, with a soft gaze, "i'd love that, i haven't had the chance to see him since my return." though, temporarily, that would have to wait. evelyn took note of FERNANDO SILPH's appearance. she wanted to say something, but she didn't know exactly what. after all, with her recent return, evelyn still had a lot of catching up to do. she had yet to be informed on some matters that left her with silent worry for her family.

"you still haven't changed," she said, a voice that would have some familiarity to it, "stop picking on your senior. that's no way for a champion to behave." evelyn would then proceed to release her old friend in order for them to properly face one another, "i thought by now you would have broken that nonchalant attitude of yours, kyle lopez."
