Gerald didn’t know about culture, but his Iron Moth had proved a sufficiently capable partner throughout his time so it had already earned a nod for the man's question.

“Sounds like a good plan.” Gerald agreed. It was definitely something he might’ve come up with on his own as well.

And much like Dorian, Gerald summoned another Pokemon, his frontliner for the job. The bright yellow Zeraora took stock of the whole troupe and found them all woefully unimpressive.

“Ready when you are.” Gerald acknowledged, momentarily waiting for Dorian to give the go-ahead.

Gerald trusted Pheramosa to do its job. It was trained, loyal, and faithful to a fanatical degree, which it proved as it turned its attention to Tyrfing aiming to end their fight with another LUNGE, this time aimed for Tyrfing’s thrusters hopefully halting its advances.

With his faith in Pheramosa well placed, he turned his attention to the Iron Moth in the sky. It was no by no means as agile as its landbound companion. And so, while it managed to dodge a Dark-type attack the Rock-type attack struck true.

Pained beeps and boops emerged from the robot, though it continued to do its duty aiming waves of Bug Buzz at the enemies and their trainer. Or it would have had Gerald not recalled it in favor of a more fiery companion. A Charizard appeared by his side.

Gerald had seen the writing on the wall. The Identity of his opponent was clear, and so his thoughts turned to the future of this battle. If there was one Gym Leader in the area, it meant that more League Personnel would be swarming the area like Durants soon enough.

“We are leaving, grab all that you can and get a move on.” Gerald spoke to the personnel that had sought cover for the moment.

“Ari, Smokescreen.”

The fiery lizard spewed forth a wave of thick black smoke covering the place.

And ready the Pheromosa was. It LUNGED on the opportunity that the Mega Absol provided, aiming to take down or at least made the Mega Absol incapable of continuing its advance. Unfortunately the LUNGE meant that Mega Absol had free reign to deliver the Night Slash if it could manage to react.

Meanwhile The Iron Moth kept up the onslaught, doing its best to dodge retaliation as much as possible. But of course it would be impossible to do so properly if they coordinated well and proper.

Mysterious tracks were quickly followed by some odd roar.

Sounded like they had to get a move on, and with no better suggestions Gerald simply stated. “Luring them out and Double Team tricking them sounds good to me.”

And so he turned his attention toward their charge moving in its direction once more, hand resting on his Pokéball belt ready to release one of his fighters whenever Sage gave the signal.

Shalin summoned the Iron Leaves and mounted the robot. Gerald took a moment to gaze upon the weird green robotic creature.

“Might be?” Gerald commented. “Well, before i found you, I was following some weird tracks. I have yet to see what made it.” Gerald began to explain as his eyes moved down to the hooves of the green machine.

As Gerald was doing the inspecting, his Absol moved closer to the robot, curiously sniffing at what scent it might carry.

Gerald gave a quick nod in reply. This new information made him tense up and anticipate an attack, even if it wasn’t much to go on. Hopefully nothing would come of it. But if there was an enemy nearby with such capabilities, then they had to be careful.

Even so, they moved on. Cautious steps hidden behind a facade of confidence brought them close and closer to their target. “So, how do you want to do this?” Gerald asked, making a plan for their attack would be wise.

Unfortunately he was distracted by some seriously mysterious tracks on the ground. It was like nothing he had seen before.

And there he was. At least that is what Gerald assumed when the stranger arrived. If they had met before, Gerald couldn’t remember and he wasn’t about to start remembering faces now.

Though for all the weirdness Dorian exuded even Gerald had to admit that the Pokemon by his side looked fairly strong.

“So, any particular way you want to do this?” Gerald asked stoically as he allowed one of his own Pokemon partners to emerge. The Iron Moth began to hover by its trainer’s side. Small beeps and boops escaping as it pondered todays job.

The Applin found itself captured rather quickly. And with that they moved on. They were down to their last Safari-Ball. And for a brief moment Gerald pondered what Pokemon he ought to catch next.

But then one appeared before him. It was… Another Applin?

The Apple looking Pokemon rolled around casually. Anna saw it immediately and proclaimed that she too wanted an apple. And so with a sigh Gerald attempted to catch it. However, surprise appeared on his face as the Pokeball touched the Pokemon and within a split second of capture the form changed from apple into blob.

Guess it was a Ditto?

And with this capture, should it be successful, they would be out of Safari Balls and therefore forced to make their way back.

All the words that came out of Shalin’s mouth only added colors to the picture of a crazy woman that Gerald had already painted in his mind. Sure he didn’t know much about Infinity Energy or its flow, and sure she might consider all of that fun too. But it was still crazy and Gerald simply couldn’t fathom anyone putting themselves in that sort of danger for fun.

“Fair I suppose.” He muttered.

“Anyhow. -" A quick segway away from the insanity that was Shalin's hobby "- You wouldn’t happen to have seen some peculiar creatures in the area?” Gerald asked. Hoping that perhaps she had.

Gerald was about to turn his attention to the mission at hand when a muttered ‘the fuck’ caught his attention.

He returned his focus to Sage and quickly asked. “Something wrong?” If this guy wasn’t completely focused on the job, he would be a liability, and Gerald had to plan accordingly.

He wasn’t about to screw up another mission. Not when he knew that the higher ups had nothing better to do than dish out punishment to pass the time.

One Captured Petilil later and they were on their way. It was getting a bit late. So they probably ought to start heading back.

But before they could even begin to turn around something fell on Gerald’s shoulder. He looked at it as it rolled onto the ground and realized what had hit him was now a very confused Applin.

For a short moment he considered just letting it be. But that felt kind of bad, so he grabbed a Safari Ball and threw it at the Applin, hoping to capture it before it got its sense of direction back.

The next Pokemon to stumble its way onto their path was a Petilil. The small grass type seemed eager to introduce itself to the pair of humans.

And Anna was all too quick to accept it. Gerald was hesitant at first. Afterall, it could be a trap. But the little girl and the Grass type seemed to hit it off as they began to discuss basic small talk, as well as any human and Pokemon Duo could.

And so he handed his little sister one of the Safari balls and urged her to use it. To which she did attempting to capture the friendly Petilil.
