[break][break] just like his meeting with illeana reyes , this one seemed fated. so strange. hoenn was such a strange place, he thought, reminded of his conversation with ophelia coin not all that long ago.

there are things that call him to hoenn, things unexplained. however, if there is one thing that can always be relied on, it is the man's penchant for his craft. his art.

[break][break] he remembers the first time that noemi laid a brush in his hand; how natural it felt. how at ease.

[break][break] the brush sweeps across the eggshell canvas as he makes note of his piece — blues and yellows blur together as they sweep across it. painting has always been a passion of his, perhaps not as much as it leant to michaelis or not as much as his heart belonged to his sculptures, but it was an ease nonetheless. it eased his anxiety that he had not yet found his muse, and was enough of a distraction that he didn't have to think twice about it.

[break][break] however, as every artist knows, there is a point in the process where you may stall. just for a minute. perhaps you do not know where to make the next stroke, or perhaps you are re-thinking the colors you blended together.

[break][break] such was the truth for luciano, and his gaze lingered — upon someone else's.

[break][break] "an ocean is quite an ambitious task," he notes to the other, inclining towards the young man as if to appraise his work. "some might think it easy, but easy it is not."

many people had asked him, and yet luciano found himself at a fault. what was he doing in hoenn? why had he come to hoenn? especially after all that happened since the barrier had come up, it made the sculptist second-guessing his decision to move.

[break][break] very rarely did luciano second-guess himself — especially when it came to his art. most of the time, when he had an impulse, he would follow it. after all, while falling on a feeling would not work for most people, it had never failed luciano. not once.

[break][break] okay, maybe once.

[break][break] in the middle of the park, the sinnoh native strolls at a leisurely pace with no one to accompany him except her bergmite. the small pokemon toddles forth along the path, icicles making wet spots in the grass. there are many people in the park's vicinity, none that luciano pays attention to. after all, most people are beneath him — as the life of a fisk typically is. it is a rare thing for someone to catch the artist's eye.

[break][break] he pauses in his steps, doing a double-take as he walks behind one blond-haired man. it is the art that catches his gaze more than anything else. familiar.

[break][break] "you're quite good with the brush," he notes appreciatively, expression thoughtful.

to be honest, money had never been a factor to luciano. after all, he was a fisk — born and raised. if there was a thing that they would want or need, noemi would provide it. simple as that.

[break][break] his head tilts towards the other. "sure — of course i don't mind." as they get to the docks, he leads them over to to nearby chairs and begins setting up the relative poles. he also kneels over to open a fisher box that he had also purchased, eying the different types of lures that were offered.

[break][break] he glances up at Laurence Anderson. "do you have a preference? there is a spheal and a mudkip?"

[break][break] both were particularly cute - it brought a slight smile to the man's face.

luciano is a fisk. more than that, he is older than many of his siblings. as a result, he has a reputation to uphold. he cannot fall claim to the lofty emotions that fill those of the younger generation.

[break][break] he thinks of michaelis, the way tears would fall so easily, the way he would let his emotions break him.

[break][break] "you're too kind," he says, though there is something in his voice that isn't quite genuine, his thoughts faraway. he brushes a hand over his face, hiding the heat that grows on his face.

[break][break] he's glad for the topic change, an excuse to avoid his heart. once again.

[break][break] "and you know me as well, ophelia. art has always been my love, and wherever it takes me, i go." he sighs though, as if revealing something secret. "unfortunately, she seems to be playing aloof these days."

[break][break] now - he couldn't exactly deny the other, now could he? besides the fact that he had already accepted, noemi had taught him better than that. he knew how to be a gentleman, even at the young age that he was.

[break][break] a laugh bubbles to his lips. "i don't think a simple string would be effective. here, follow me." luciano begins to lead the over to the markets that are nearby; sure enough, a lovely woman helps them out. with a lift of his hand, luciano picks the two most expensive rods, a box of bait and glittering lure. he hands one of the bamboo rods over to Laurence Anderson. "here you are. let us go now."

[break][break] "i can show you the way if you like. i should pick up some ingredients for dinner," he says, already beginning to pocket the rest of his materials by his satchel.

[break][break] it had been on his list of things to do for the afternoon — perhaps he would strike a muse in the recesses of the market. though, somehow, it seemed unlikely.

[break][break] a laugh erupts from the young artist as the other mentions catching the fish.

[break][break] "i suppose that is another way to do things. in fact — " his eyes sparkle, as if suddenly reaching something of interest. the fish market sounded unpleasing, but the seaside? now, that was an idea. "let me escort you, amore. i want to view the seaside." a smile blossoms to his face.

sea breeze eyes drift over. sure enough, there they are — a myriad of artists all set up on the easel, ready to paint whatever comes to mind.

[break][break] his lips press together. something akin to displeasure filters through his eyes like ripples on the water.

[break][break] when he turns to Laurence Anderson however, his expression is placid. "i'm not sure what i'm looking for yet honestly," he admits. a muse, his mind betrays, but that is not so easily found. not even in a paradise such as alto mare.

[break][break] instead, he opts for a chance of a topic.

oh, not a local? made enough sense. not that - of course - luciano was a local either. he missed the cooler temperatures of the sinnoh biome to the breezy onslaught of alto mare's beaches.

[break][break] "thank you," he says, taking the chisel and placing it in his pocket. if Laurence Anderson looked carefully, he would find that the blue-haired teen had a satchel on his possession that had all different lengths of chisels, brushes and the like.
