[break][break] after all, this was not a task luciano could take lightly. his head tilts to the side as the other asks about the beach, one of his hands flicking idly against the peeling label of his drink.

[break][break] "yes," he says. "it doesn't compare to the beaches in alto mare, but it is satisfying enough. did i tell you that i even when diving during the festivities?" and what an event that had been!

a pretty blush blooms on his cheek as paxton concordas declares to defend him. even against a small child, the thought was comforting. it sent something rare and nervous in his chest, like a vivillion's paper-thin wings fluttering around inside.

[break][break] meanwhile, as the chaos ensues, luciano's delicate fingers work on his own masterpiece at hand. he cannot help it — perfection is the only way he knows how to handle things.

his eyes widen with alarm as his companion is pelted with a snowball, only having just narrowly been missed by one as well. he steps closer to paxton concordas , swiping a hand over his coat, as the other hisses obscenities towards the small child.

[break][break] "defend me?" luciano repeats in a murmur, pink dusting his cheeks.

[break][break] while the two engage in sibling-esque rivalry, luciano decides to direct his pokemon into a much more meaningful sculpture than mere snowboys. though he isn't exactly sure where he should start. perhaps he could make a dratini? or a lapras?

[break][break] he blinks. what a curious answer. it made him feel that much more curious about the other boy. after all, not knowing had never been an option for someone like him. he can't help but feel envious.

[break][break] as the conversation shifts, luci makes himself comfortable on the pier deck, staring out at the calm sea. "my family isn't from here. we're from sinnoh, but just visiting too." what were the odds?

[break][break] his head tilts as the riolu makes an unfortunate tumble over the pier's edge and - unexpectedly - a laugh peals out of the young fisk's mouth and he clutches his stomach.

[break][break] "your pokemon," he says, chuckling. "are quite something."

[break][break] admist his laughter, he wipes a hand over his mouth before looking up at Laurence Anderson with a shimmer of sky-blue.

mint frost 's discomfort does not escape his keen eye, but then again, many people often expressed discomfort when meeting him. whether it was because of their own lofty, inflated ideals of what a celebrity ought to be or otherwise, there were very few who found themselves at ease.

[break][break] there was a high likelihood that this young boy knew who he was.

[break][break] but for the moment, luciano decided he would play dumb.

[break][break] "mint. mint from lilycove," he repeats, with just a little bit of humor in his tone, before moving on. "well mint from lilycove, have you considered being a painter? you have a knack for it."

[break][break] it's not a surprise to him that @symon knows how to push his buttons, whether intentionally or not. it was - after all - the dynamic of their relationship. still, it doesn't make it any less unsettling than what it happens, jostling from his metaphorical perch as one of noemi fisk's prizes.

[break][break] "i didn't know that," he says, blinking with surprise. it was a bit shameful, but he had to admit — he had not put that much thought to where @symon lived when they had... anyways. "what is your favorite place in all of hoenn, then?"

it wasn't that he didn't trust concord, but as he dodged incoming snowballs and other such assaults, luciano could not help but feel...

[break][break] he frowns, even as he finds paxton concordas admist the chaos. the sculptor is dressed in a perfectly fashionable peacoat, with a scarf wrapped delicately around his neck. he hovers over the other man, brow quirked. "are you sure this is... hoenn culture?"

[break][break] even as his spheal rolls in the snow, inadvertently creating another snowball, he cannot help but wonder.

[break][break] or perhaps there was something on his face? the surprise of the young boy as he turns to him doesn't necessarily alarm luciano, but it is something that he thinks about as he finds a seat next to the boy.

[break][break] he flashes an easy smile.

[break][break] "luciano. pleasure to meet your acquaintance..?"

"a mudkip then," he nods at the vendor, waiting until the purchased goods are spilled into a brown bag and handed over. when he turns, however, the last thing he is expecting is to see —

[break][break] it isn't that luciano has not seen pokemon before. of course, his older siblings had plenty of them but they had always been contained. perhaps one or two, or maybe a couple more if they were passing through the fisk family manor and viewing the security's canines.

[break][break] he follows a bit more slowly behind this boy and his entourage of pokemon, watching with curiosity as he hooks his mudkip to a line and then throws it into the sea. he seems more than a bit skilled - or at least, that's what the young luciano thinks in the moment.

[break][break] "you have quite the pokemon," he remarks, only to toss his own line into the sea. "are you a pokemon trainer? or a fisherman?"

[break][break] he would have thought he would have recognized him if he was part of the fisher folk that littered the town's shores in the early morning. luciano had often taken early strolls there, looking for a new muse to strike.

[break][break] luciano had considered lying, but his heart wouldn't allow it. when it came to his art, the truth bled from him like the river that flowed through canalave.

[break][break] to hide his embarrassment, he turns his face away and watches a young child beg his mom for a bag of chips in addition to their order, and wonders if children were always so uncouth. turning back, he looks at @symon with curiosity.

[break][break] "i will have to take your word for it then," he says afterwards, curiosity flickering in his sapphire gaze. "hoenn is a new landscape for me."

[break][break] "is that why you came to hoenn?"

[break][break] "as inviting as that is, i know you better than to fall for a trap like that." his gaze narrows playfully, chiding her softly with his tone. "you know what kind of man i am, madam."

[break][break] no matter how much she pushes, luciano knows better than to play along. it was fun for a moment, but there is such a thing as stepping too close to the edge. mother taught him better.

[break][break] which is why he allows for the change of topic, turning to his craft.

[break][break] he hums in thought as he leads them through the garden, pulling her hand to his arm so that he can lead her properly through it. "i don't go looking for a muse — often more than not, it finds me. i suppose i've never thought about what i look for."

[break][break] if he'd put pen to paper, what would he have found? he thinks of all the muses in his life, the ones that had known of him and the ones who didn't, and he isn't sure if any of them would have had a single thread in common. what did people like illeana reyes and Laurence Anderson have in common? very little, he would think.

[break][break] "that's a high compliment," he remarks. "with such high praise, i suppose i couldn't deny you."

[break][break] his lips upturn.

[break][break] "assuming, of course, you are willing to meet the fisk price."

[break][break] "miss coin," he chides. "you'll get in trouble one day for your banter. dangling something so delectable in front of a man like me." his lips curve upward. "as much as i would like to accept — " he shakes his head. "it does not work that way."

[break][break] "the heart may be fickle — but the brush even more so."

"yes," he says. "though, i haven't been there yet myself."

[break][break] luci had merely signed the paperwork that his mother had given him when the decision had been made to store some of his pieces there. in fact, luci was not sure which pieces were the ones being displayed.

[break][break] but that had never been a concern for the sculptor. he created the art. it was someone else's job to figure out what to do with it.

[break][break] "an arcade?" he intones. "what's that?"

[break][break] cerulean blue drifts over to the plant arches that paxton concordas speaks of, his gaze turning from a pleasant onlooker to that of a discerning artist. when he blinks, however, the critical tone is gone as he looks back at his old friend.

[break][break] "ah. well, there are several apartments around the region that i could stay at but currently lilycove has my attention. how about you?"
