There was something she noted from the corner of her eye, and it was honestly thanks to the fact that she was more or less passing and tossing little treats and the like around like a flower girl at someone’s wedding. After a few throws, she noted a small, almost pained chirp not too long after some of the snacks would’ve landed, and after looking back in the direction it came from, she narrowed her eyes before finding the source.[break][break]

She stared at a little Rowlet on the ground, seemingly with an injured wing.[break]
…And also a treat right next to it.[break][break]

Oh my fucking God, I think I just pelted it.[break][break]

With that realization, she’d already been on her way to check up on the bird. Softly humming and clicking her tongue, she pursed her lips as she took a knee and cooed softly towards the owlet, furrowing her brows as she began to gently—ever so gently—begin a light examination.[break][break]

”Aw… You fell outta one of the trees, didn’t you…?” she hummed softly, eying the treat with a light sigh. Amber hues lingered upon the fledgling in thought for a little while longer before she quickly plucked another Safari Ball from her belt, tapping it carefully and softly upon the top of the bird’s head.[break][break]

”Fell and got immediately nailed by some bitch throwing food…” She clicked her tongue, standing up with the newly occupied capsule in hand. ”...Man, I feel baaaaad, now…”[break][break]

Everything seemed more than passable, as far as she was concerned.[break][break]

Clean waters, lack of debris, healthy Pokemon— the norm was all there was to be expected from the scan she did as she walked along the shoreline. Of course, there was more to see in the area, though, so after finalizing a small walk along the perimeter of the waters, she glanced across the clearing once more before directing her attention towards a lush array of greenery in the distance before making her way towards it.[break][break]

Not without spotting a couple Pokemon along the way and tossing a couple treats for them, though.[break]

Just a number of paces later, and she would’ve found herself stopping to glance (tiredly) in the direction of a more or less familiar cry.[break][break]

As her own Pokemon continued onward to scout the route ahead, the sight of a Meganium ambling towards her was one to quickly meet her senses not too long after she stopped to discern where the sound had come from. Honestly speaking, the sheer energy it had while making its way put her off guard, and out of instinct, she took a couple of steps back out of instinctive fear of being trampled over.[break][break]

Thankfully, those fears were lulled as she noted it stop just a foot or so in front of her.[break][break]

She stared at it.[break]
It stared back.[break][break]

After some time, she reached towards a pack on her belt, plucking a treat from its inner pockets to hold it up towards the creature, a surprised gasp of a giggle escaping her lips as it was snagged from the tips of her fingers just as quickly as she offered it. Staring up towards the grass type, she stifled an amused smile upon her lips as it gobbled the snack down before carefully and softly reaching up to pet the beast.[break][break]

”Aww~. Who’s a cutie…?” she cooed, only finding herself laughing again as the floral Pokemon reared his head back with another cry of content, repeatedly patting his front feet on the ground.[break][break]

After some thought, she brought her hand back to her belt again, but rather than fetching another treat, she pulled a spare Pokeball out before tapping it against the reptilian’s shoulder.[break][break]

”I’ll introduce ya to the others when we’re done here~.”[break][break]

A few chirps and the like had been all that was needed for her to turn a gaze towards the skies— and just in time to catch a flash of crimson streaking by her before settling down upon the branches of a nearby tree. Instinctively, a grin of equal parts amusement and appreciation tugged upon her lips as she whistled in the bird’s direction, giggling softly as she earned another chirp in response.[break][break]

”Man. Cute ass baby…” she hummed to herself, taking another sip from the coffee in her hands as she continued on.[break][break]

So, as you’d probably have guessed, she pulled one of the capsules she’d been given into her hands before tossing it towards Little Blue and his floppy ass…ears? She assumed they were ears, anyways, but honestly, she was never entirely sure whenever she saw one cross her path.[break][break]

Regardless, though, she walked by to pick the Pokeball up before making her way to the shoreline, crouching down to begin her examinations of the waters and the nearby areas.[break][break]

Through a mirror, obviously, but still. Whether it was from frustration, disgust, or otherwise (maybe even a mix of the two, somehow?) was honestly up in the air, but either way, there had been a visible scrunch of the nose as she glared at her reflection as she stood there that day.[break][break]

Before long, she pursed her lips and clicked her tongue, blowing a raspberry.[break][break]

”Yeah, no, I ain’t really feeling it yet…” she grumbled, glancing towards another person with her within the background of the reflections. ”You got any ideas?”

Ah, yes— food; a very simple thing that always seemed to do wonders with boosting morale, moods, or whatever the fuck else. Had a bad day? Stuff your face and feel better. In a lull? Stress eat and marathon a show to feel better. Going through whatever kind of bad break up?[break][break]

It was just a general, ‘pick me up,’ sort of thing, so despite the fact that there was really nothing much to feel better over, a content tugged upon her lips as she whisked herself through the short of the hall and into the kitchen with a couple of bags hanging from the tips of her fingers. She spared a glance towards the living room some ways away for just a moment before turning her attention towards the cabinets before her.[break][break]

”Yooo, biiiitch~!” she called out, ever smiling as she plucked a couple of glasses (and obviously a bottle of wine to go with them, because that was way more important). ”The food’s here! You ready yet?”

It was her money to spend irresponsibly, anyways, so with a single sunk cost and an entry ticket later, the ranger strode through the entry doors with deep breath, clicking her tongue absentmindedly as both the safari sights and musk met her senses. Amber hues scanned the clearing for several moments as she continuously tossed and caught one of the specialized Pokeballs she’d been handed over for the sake of her stay.[break][break]

Before long, she settled her eyes upon one of the waterfronts in the distance, snapping her fingers towards it and beginning a stride over.[break][break]

”Aaaalrighty… Let’s get this inspection on the road, I guess~!”

A loud, wheezing groan of a yawn sounded through the air.[break][break]

”God… Years of experience or not, mornings can go fuck themselves…” the woman murmured, softly pressing the tip of a finger against the corner of one of her eyes. With a soft sigh, she rubbed against it while also lifting a coffee (much needed, and honestly, her only lifeline in the earlier hours of the day) to take a much needed sip.[break][break]

She glanced to the side as a certain snake slithered up with a group of smaller creatures in tow, humming and laughing as it bumped her in passing.[break][break]

”Yeah, bitch, I know~...” she sighed in faux exasperation, watching the beast slither further forward before finally beginning to follow along, as well. She took another sip. ”A’ight… Let’s get the ball rolling, then~...”
