not even an approaching apocalypse could change orchid’s nature; hellbent as ever on spoiling her favorite little creatures, she’s gone to quite a nice little store in the mall. luckily for her (though perhaps not so luckily for the rest of hoenn) the concern over the meteor has appeared to somewhat clear it out, so she doesn’t bother with any sort of way to hide herself.

although, she isn’t sure she would even if it’d been crowded; who wants to spent their last months unacknowledged?

running a hand over the boxes of treats before her, she ponders which one to get. she knows her lovely little quartz likes a specific brand, but sweet guppy likes an entirely separate one. pond refuses to eat one of them, and petal… is petal. she’s perhaps the only one of her little ones that gives her zero grief over whatever she chooses to get.

whatever, it’s the end of the world. the little ones are getting whatever they want, she decides, throwing things into the cart before her. this leads to her turning rather quickly.

she’s startled by the presence of another woman with pink hair (stealing her brand, much?) not too far from herself. she seems to maybe be debating what to get.

“if you have little furry ones,” she breaks the silence, unable to bear being in another’s presence without acknowledgement, “they like these,” she gestures at the shelf behind her.

seeing as orchid lacked a pokémon that could mega evolve, she takes the opportunity to borrow one from contest organizers. after some contemplation, her eyes fall upon a bird. while it’s not pink, orchid believes the contrast of those soft blue feathers could provide some interest. besides, she’d always liked the little flying creatures. she thinks she knows what to do now.

mega-stone wrapped in a necklace, orchid sets off, her temporary companion flying above her as she walks the runway. the altaria is chirping a small, quiet song — just enough to barely be heard by the crowds below.

at the end of the runway, orchid comes to a seemingly sudden stop. the stone upon her necklace begins to glow, and a shimmering explosion breaks out as the bird above her is transformed. mega altaria soars above her now.

orchid positions herself to be hit by the gusts of wind coming off of the bird’s wings, using the wind to her advantage as she poses and revels in the attention. as if that wasn’t enough for her, the bird’s song has risen to new heights, hopefully enchanting the audience before them.
