Matt was starting to get Oto out of the equipment. Laughing as Nico came over and hugged him. Hugging him back and kissing his cheek. "Goofball."

Letting go of him and patting Oto. "We gotta go get him those treats we promised." There was a caw from Oto. "See, he won't forget."

Matt would get saddled up with Oto and Nico. Making sure the ladies were nice and ready, then they were off. Oto took off with mighty wing beats, causing gusts of wind below to blow dust.

Raising easy above the tree line, the bird went to glide over them. Low enough to see through small peeks in the tree tops, as well as slow enough. Oto would even turn and show off anything that seemed very interesting to look at.

After tat he would head for the landing, to release the ladies from the flyting death trap flying Taxi!

Oto looked between the two, a slow squint as Matt circled with equipment he did not recognize. Eyes snapping back to Nico as he began to explain what was going on. A caw at him in frustration, feathers fluffing out in annoyance.

Kicking his feet against the ground, he snapped into the air. Matt stopped, reaching up to back the birds back. "Afterwards we'll get your favorite poffins, yeah? Some nice curry?"

That settled the bird, who seemed far to easily swayed with food, and Matt got him hooked up and reading to go. Letting him do a few test flies and let Nico observe.

"What you think, love?"

Matt was going to have to thank whatever water legendary that gave him this ability to swim. He kicked up as he spotted Nico, gasping for air as it refilled his lungs. Looking at Nico with a very sour face at that, shaking his head.

"Next time we're getting a boat..." But he would swim to the other side, going to also help up the milotic. "Let's get her to the pokemon center first then we'll discuss how you're making this up to me."

Matt felt his face going numb, along with his legs, and his arms ached with agony. But he would bear through this pain. Grit through it. Prove Josh wrong. Prove him all wrong, that he wasn't some dumb kid. He was something who would overcome anything he was told he could not do.

But still, so me of this relied on luck. As the incline came, Matt held off praying the speed boost from before would keep them ahead, so when they landed they could kick in the last boost to whiz over the finish line.

Matt looked stunned for a moment. Did his boyfriend just yell at a bird to fuck off? He certainly did! Even complimenting Dagger, who looked very annoyed at the fact he got beat up by a damn bird. Who looked up at Nico and slow blinked at him, before going back to Matt to pout.

"That was great babe, maybe you should be a ranger." He laughed, going over to give him a smooch. "Think we scared off the flock? So we c an get back to our actual date?"

After freeing the one pink rock, he swam back up when instructed by Nico. Breaching the water, he gasped an d then bonked Nico right on the head. "I'm kickin' her and your ass later." He warned, though it was clear to Nico he was joking about it at least.

"Let's get this over with." Taking a breath, he dived back down. Really, he should just become a life-guard or something at this rate. Spotting another poison bitch about to torment a poor corsola, he went after it and kicked it off, watching it scamper away as he did a fist bump in the water.

Matt saw the crash and burn from Josh Devlin. Mentally wishing him luck.

But he went back to focus. That focus was only beating one person in this entire race, so he was back to focusing on that.

Going to guide Nana through the new on coming challenges they had coming up.

Matt was and wasn't surprised at the chaos that broke out. What he did care about was his fiances ship being wrecked. His eyes went huge behind the helmet he wore, cursing as he decided to abandon ship. "Going to handle the escape pods." He grunted to the pilot before he opened the hatch up throw himself out.

As he did he realized Oto, free falling until the bird swooped around and caught him on his back. "Getting Minx." He hisses, using his nickname for Nico in case somehow it was overheard. Oto chawed, as Matt bare backed the bird. "Agility to get us there!"

The bird lit up in white, the two dashing off in a blue towards @nicodwmus escape pod. Once they reached it, Matt slammed his shoulder against the door. "Get out of there!" Matt hollered, trying to be heard but he doubt it could be done. Hopefully this just looked like he was trying to take some leaguer out of the sky than helping them for now.

Also relying on the chaos around to be a good cover. Last thing he needed was Josh seeing Oto- he knew Josh was here due to information he gathered. So that was his biggest concern aside from his partner.

Once and if he was able to free Nico, he would jerk the boy onto Oto's back and instruct the bird to fly under the ship for cover. "We need another way up and a landing spot!"

Matt would have rode with nicodemus unken in his shift to be more undercover, but he did not want to risk getting Nico caught. Instead, he rode in one of the ships, suit on and ready to go. Course he also had on a disguise under his suit- not going to risk getting caught by the rangers or seen by ones who would know him.

So he simply, waited in the ship. Leg bouncing bouncing and hands twitchy for his pokeballs. Fuck he really should have went with Isaac Merlo and dragged Nico there instead of this. But no, he decided on this, and he would stick through it.

Matt was just as surprised he made that turn. "Amazing, Nana!" He yelled, and soon egged her on more. "We got this- just a little more, we can do it, Nana!"


She gave a howl, and Matt knew what it meant. "Go!" Extreme Speed time it was again! Let's see how well this turned out.

They were off. Matt spurred Nana on and he forgot everyone around him. Letting Nana more or less take control- he had faith in his canine. They shared a bond, so letting the other take control was easy for them.

"Good luck!" That was to nicodemus unken, and he took off. Nana went to pick up speed, going to face the oncoming challenges they had to face with the help of her trainer.

Matt kept focused, gotta stay focused- that upcoming turn was going to make it or break for them. Matt could be slung from her and injured, or she stumbled and took out the whole pack. He didn't like any of the bad options.

But as the turn came, he shoved himself hard against Nana, sliding half out of the saddle to try and help her turn.
