Matt was chuckling at Isaac's excited attitude towards the treasure. It was nice to see. Honestly, he felt he should be at ease, but he felt all business right now. Wasn't exactly normal for him to be this up tight around the both of them. Things were crazy lately.

"Josh-" and he was off. Matt's face soured, crossing his arms. "Didn't he used to yell at me for this???" He questioned, throwing his hands into the air. "Did he not, Isaac??? Am I losin' my mind?" He asked, as if he was seeking some validation here. But Josh didn't come back as quickly as Matt liked nor did he hear him say he found the stone.

Going to sling himself onto Zeus' back, he took off through the waterfall, coming right in on the scene as Josh got into yet another fight.

"Protect!" Matt yelled, as Zeus barked, going to throw up another shining shield of light to attempt to protect the humans around him! He was a good boy!

His fucking face hurt.

Pinching his nose, he snapped it back into place with a disgusting noise. Feeling light headed, the man stumbled. Dark face paled, staring off as he steadied himself from the pain. To go back to focusing, he fell back to Isaac.

Red eyes did spot those chests, but he was not interested in them. Glancing to Isaac, he nudged him and motioned with his head over towards them. See if he wanted whatever was inside!

"Don't go getting lost!"

Matt handed over the stone with no issue, looking back at Isaac for any clues if he knew- but Josh seemed to be ahead of them in that department.

But the excitement wasn't over! The tiles came flying, going to hit Josh- Matt reached out thinking he could help, but he knew the damage was done. So he turned hard on his heel, digging his boot into mud as he slung himself in front of Isaac, arms out as he took the blow.

One nailed him straight in the face, that got a down right feral-snarl from the man. His nose bloodied and probably broken, he didn't move from in front of Isaac.

Was he trying to return a unspoken favor? Perhaps.

"Zeus!"

He called forward the dog from it's ball, who howled and used PROTECT to stop the rest of the coming tiles- but who knows if Isaac stayed put during it!

With all the pokemon out of the way, Matt fell back into following Josh. This really was just some giant game of Zelda. But it was fun, even if he was the back up. Was better seeing Josh like this, than him having to run from him due to some idiot. Which he still needed to go punch in the face.

"... Eh?" Matt piped up, lifting a brow at Twilight. "You need some encouragement?" He asked, considering bringing out Ace, to see if that would help or not. "I'm not much into mega stones, as it was a fluke I even got mine, but uh, how's this work?"

So did this guy train Isaac? He did not remember hearing his name from Isaac. So possibly.. no. Glancing towards the open field, red eyes went back to Jayden.

"Fists or mons?" He questioned- Matt was not one above using his fists to get a point across, which was why he asked. Though now Matt was sizing him up- debating if he was able to take him. Though Jayden might appear small compared to Matt, he doubted someone who handled training was by any means weak in either forms of battle.

Either way, it was a way to blow off some steam.

A hand went to rub the back of his neck. "Barely." He said, shrugging. Staring off towards the tree-line, he wanted to stop beating around the bush. red eyes fell back to Hayden, looking too old and tired for someone to only in their early 20s.

"What do you want, exactly?" He asked, he looked tense as he asked.

"It's not like a boss comes in every day to find a low newbie in the field."

Matt was trying to not lose his shit at Isaac- it was refreshing to see that. It made him smile, rubbing the back of his neck. At least Isaac was still same old Isaac. Shaking his head, he went back to focus. Maybe they could just blow up the chest... he needed to steal Nico's gloves sometime.

At the question of the water, Matt.

Stared.

He wanted them to go in that? That was absolutely... disgusting. He didn't even have a water-type. Scrunching his face up, he looked at Josh. "You're lucky I don't sell you for one corn chip to Giratina." Huffing, he would take the Dewgong, trying to not gag on the smell.

"So the last time I help- jesus fuck." In a blind panic, he grabbed Oto's pokeball, the flying type cawing as it was released. "Shit- Hurricane, blow 'em away!"

Matt felt like he was in some dungeon crawler-game with two extra players. Honestly, it was kin d of fun- the type of thrill Matt missed. But that wasn't the topic right now. As the chaos went around, he groaned. "I'd kill to have Aki right now." He muttered, seemingly forgetting the other two knew of the shy girl as well.

Seeing Josh disappear, Matt clicked his tongue. He passed a glance towards Isaac, a brief frown came- as if to speak without talking. But it soon ended as Josh returned, squinting at this.


"Bro did you teleport us into a game or something? This is pretty rad."

Matt knew of him. That was about it- one of the big shots. Last time he was near a big shot, he got insulted. Which had him on edge. Well, lots of things had him on edge now a days. This was just on the top of the list since it was in the moment.

"Best as I can surivin' a alien vs dragon battle." The shrug, his gaze being diverted to the ground. "Is that what you want, info on that?" Matt... did happen to be the one to wake up that alien, but he'd be damn if he told anyone else that or that he even believed he and Nico did. Nope. Didn't happen. Nada.

"Can tell you the whole thing kinda went to shit."

Once bandaged and good, Matt let Josh go. "Didn't you use to yell at me for being reckless?" He teased, going to step back. Looking at the map, he held it up and blinked a few times. "Well..." He shrugged. "Your adventure, bro. Lead the way- oh for fucks sake."

A glare was given at the water-types sending a roaring wave of muddy water at them. "Zeus." He ordered, his voice almost cold. The dog barked into action, summoning another Thunder to split the waves in-two and hopefully spare their friends a watery surprise!

If not... hopefully someone has towels?

Matt waved his hand as Josh said that about Zeus. "I like dogs." He said simply, letting it fall there. Honestly, he had gotten the dog as a gift from.. some unknown stranger. Who just gives out shiny pokemon? Oh well, Zeus was his now, and he made may Zeus-fu jokes to nicodemus unken about it, and soon Isaac.

"Wait you idiot." Matt growled, sounding a lot harsher than normal. Pulling out some ace bandages from his side pack, he would motion for Josh to get in front of him. "We'll get the wall when I patch up your hand." He said, stern in his position about it. But Zeus was soon giving a low growl, hackles raised.

Then Matt noticed it was quiet..

"It's too quiet in here..."

Matt listened, trying to not give away his facial expression as he mentioned the meteor. He should be glad he made it out alive. Chewing the inside of his cheek to silence his thoughts, he glanced to Isaac. "Still say you look better than Razz." A smirk, before peering towards the cave.

"You sure picked the wrong one for water and cave battles askin' me. Half my team-" As he said that, it seemed someone on his team didn't appreciate being forgotten!

A loud, thunderous bark came, as his own Manetric came roaring out of a pokeball on Matt's side. The electric canine barked again, commanding the Thunder itself down onto the fish that dared attack his trainer and his- well, friends? Were they friends? Totally friends.

"Zeus! Ah!" Out of reflex he went to snatch Josh and Isaac out of the way if he could.
