Yumi didn't hear Rhys' tirade. A cold sweat broke over her skin as her heart raced in sudden, unexplainable panic. Her eyes darted from one shadow to another, as if the zombies he spoke of would suddenly manifest out of thin air to assault them. [break][break]

For a woman who relied heavily on the ability of her bodyguards—both human and Pokémon—to dispatch her enemies, the thought of something being unkillable gripped her with icy fingers of fear. [break][break]

Yumi noticed the thing in the alley too late, nearly jumping out of her skin when Rhys' Toxtricity jogged past her to apprehend the—the clown? Her Milotic joined in, breathing a plume of DRAGON BREATH at the strange creature. Unfortunately, it dodged that, too, and sent fireworks into the sky. [break][break]

The woman was so confused by the colorful display that she didn't notice what was happening around them until Rhys grabbed her hand. Only then did she lower her gaze to see exactly what she'd feared: the slow, lurching approach of several zombies. [break][break]

Yumi screamed and ran, letting her companion pull her down the nearest passage. Unfortunately, it was a dead end; metal sheets had been placed across the width of the side street to block passage. In any other situation, she would have realized it was a man-made barricade. But in her panic, she only recognized it as an obstacle. [break][break]

"Daija! Do something!" she cried out. The Milotic charged forward, crashing into the makeshift wall with BULLDOZE. Metal groaned beneath the weight of the attack, but it wasn't enough to completely clear their path. [break][break]

Yumi grabbed Rhys' arm, shaking him frantically, her eyes wild as she begged him for aid. "Rhys!" [break][break]
