Just as Ayana was wondering if anyone was going to arrive, she jumped to her feet as Penelope approached her. She appeared to be dressed rather casually, inverse of Ayana who was dressed more formally in her uniform. Albeit a uniform that is designed to blend in. [break][break]

“Ooo! Nice to meet you, nice to meet you! Penelope, huh! I’m Ayana but I guess you already know that, huh.” She paused to bop herself on the head and then laughed. [break][break]

She took the hand and shook it, beaming brightly to the girl who stood before her. “Gonna be honest…” Ayana muttered, lowering her voice. [break][break] “The ‘office’ didn’t give me much information before hand. Just to meet you here. I figured it must be somewhat of importance if I was summoned with such secrecy.”

For some time, Ayana continued to circle the barn. Looking at it from every angle and trying to imagine every point of entry and possibility for motive. So focused was she on this, she failed to notice anyone approaching. Until a voice spoke as if from the shadows themselves. Ayana turned and face whom ever it was. Her face oddly blank and sharp.

Almost absentmindedly so, Ayana’s hand reached into the depths of her bag. But, as the man admitted he was just messing with her, Ayana’s hand slackened and she released her hand, letting the hilt drop.

Her face suddenly relaxed back into its usual bright expression. “Oh, sorry. I was focusing, y’know. Big focus.” She took in the man’s appearance and then moved across to the Pokémon surrounding him.

“Isaac, huh. Nice to meet you. I’m Ayana. I decided to volunteer to help these people out with their farming.”
Ayana turned away to take another look at the barn behind them. Making a square with her fingertips to look as if to visualise it better.

“They come into my cafe every so often. I even get my milk deliveries from here. So I kinda owe them one, y’know!”

That was technically the truth.

“I thought there might be something I can do to show my appreciation. What about you, Isaac? Why did you trudge that the mud.” She said, turning back to him and smiling. Jumping up and down in a puddle as she spoke. “See, it’s so messy. Fun though~” [break][break]

“Well, I gotta admit, your highness. When I started Cafe Dream, I never expected to meet anyone from the Royal Family. I mean, you’d have been way down my list.” Bowing her head as she said the words, your highness. [break][break]

Gyō appeared again from a back room, levitating a tray of tea cups, so it floated idly at his side. It paused, turned to look at Ayana and gave her silent but piercing look as if to say ‘don’t do anything stupid, stupid.’ [break][break]

Ayana paused; continuing to wipe the same mug absently as she thought hard about what to say next that wouldn’t cause any trouble for herself. Usually she never had a problem with words but to meet royalty had thrown her for a bit of a loop. “I gotta ask… uh, your majesty,” she added bowing her head as she said it. “If it’s not a rude question, I mean. I just wanted to know. I just—What’s your dream?” [break][break] There was a audible tinkle of china from afar as she said those words. [break][break]

[attr="class","lyco2"]Unable to stop herself, Ayana started to do a kind of strange tribal dance on the spot. As if to will the Poke Ball to catch. For a few seconds, the ball moved from side to side as it seemingly decided. Then, it stopped and lay completely still in the undergrowth of mud, mulch and leaves. [break][break]

Ayana bent down to scoop up the Poke Ball. Holding it up straight into the air and exclaiming at the top of her voice. [break][break]

“I got it! I got it, I got it! Yesyesyesyesyes!” [break][break]

As she did so, a flock of birds flew out from the nearest tree clearly startled by her volume of her voice. Little did she know that a second Pokemon has also been startled away by her voice. A small blue elephant, rolled away back into the depths of the woods. Unseen by Ayana who was now continuing on. Excitement, clearly evident across every part of her face.[break][break]

Nasu followed behind it's trainer; looking a little confused to why this had created such a odd reaction in the girl.

[attr="class","lyco2"]Ayana trudged through the thick mud, unaware that anyone else would join her on this mission. She had to secure the area and make sure that no harm came to the farm's animals. The main barn seemed like a good place to start, but as she approached it, Ayana realized that someone or something had been getting in. She examined the barn closely, looking for any clues that could lead her to the culprit. [break][break]

Whoever it was, beast or poacher, had to be getting in somehow. The mud at the entrance would make it tricky to get past on foot as she has just proved unless they had some way around it. Either under or over. Maybe by flight?[break][break]

“Let’s take a closer look at the barn then. Maybe it’ll shed some light on this investigation.”[break][break]

Ayana's thoughts raced as she walked around the barn, muttering to herself in frustration. It didn’t seem like the work of Team Rocket, not for a few farm critters. That was a bit small time considering what she had been taught and has seen thus far. That did put some truth to the predator angle.

Lost in thought, Ayana failed to notice anyone approaching her. She was too focused on her mission to pay attention to anything else. Failing to take any notice to anyone who may be approaching. Whatever it was that had been causing trouble on the farm, Ayana was determined to stop it.

Some problem with trade boats, I think. But all’s well that ends well. My customers are happy!” The girl smiled as another customer passed the counter, leaving their own cups on it. “Thanks, come again!” Ayana called after them, beaming as brightly as the stained glass in the tall window behind them. [break][break]

“W-wait a second! Queen like Queen of a country, Queen?!” Ayana shouted as Elise’s words caught up to her. Almost, dropping the tea cup that she had picked up from the counter. Fortunately, it was prevented from smashing into a thousand pieces by her second Pokémon. The pink tapir creature floated as if out of nowhere, letting out a large plume of perfume-like smoke from the top of its head which slowly surrounded them. It’s large eyes glowed with a blue aura and the fallen tea cup flew back up onto the counter. [break][break]

“Phew, thanks. Reliable as ever, Gyō!” After giving the silent Musharna a few pats, it vanished once again. Where too, she didn’t know. But he always appeared when he was called or needed. A very useful friend to have. [break][break]

“So, then…” She paused and leaned closer. “A-a-are you royalty? Your highness!”

Protect “The Horned Ranch” from the growing number of attacks. Protect all livestock from distress. [break]Cause of attacks is unknown at this time. Ranch Owner described attack as as a group rabid Pokémon. IPol has testimony that it is a group of poachers. Investigate as once.

The mission came early in the morning as she was once again awoken by the sharp pecking of a true predator. The Murkrow that the IPol office used to deliver her “specialised” mail often left a few scratches on Ayana’s person and acted as a far better alarm clock than what she already had. Albeit with a lot of pain involved…

So, Ayana found herself early the following morning. So much so, that the sun had barely risen. Stepping forward up the muddy track and to the farmhouse that laid near the back of the quite vast landscape. From her first thought, it must have been at least twenty fields worth of farm. So, it wouldn’t be so easy to keep track of everything. That’s what they’d be expecting on at least and using to their advantage. Troublesome indeed.

Anywho, she had decided to keep her cover by simply offering to volunteer her services as a kindly and helpful local and double up on the mission.

“Oh! Look at you! Look at that cute little guy! Aren’t you just adorable!!” Ayana said before she could stop herself.[break][break]

Ayana then smiled across at the lady.“Ahem. I mean, uh, of course, no problem. One Earl Grey, coming up!”[break][break]

She began to busy herself with making the drink behind the bar before passing it over to Elise. It wasn’t served in anything too fancy, but the china was at least pretty, fading from night to day, black to a deep navy blue, decorated with small stars and constellations that seemed to glimmer from the very surface of the cup.[break][break]

“I hope you enjoy it! My name is Ayana, and if you need anything, just let me know!”[break][break]

As she said it, one of her fellow employees, aka her Pokemon, appeared from the back. Nasu, the Gengar, wore a maid outfit as she floated past the bar to collect the empty china on other tables. “Thank you, Nasu! Take a break now, okay!”[break][break]

The Gengar looked at Ayana with a reluctant sigh, as if to say, 'Who is going to do all of this work if I rest?'[break][break]

Smiling as she watched Nasu vanish from sight again, Ayana turned back to the girl. “So, what do you think?”

She felt self-conscious about the large plaster on her cheek, but no one seemed to be paying attention to her. As she approached the meeting spot, she couldn't help but wonder who she was meeting and what mission she was about to embark on. [break][break]

The warm night had left the windows open in her bedroom, letting in a refreshing breeze. Ayana was sound asleep, snoring softly, covered in a blanket. Unbeknownst to her, a black bird had flown in through the window and circled the room before landing on the set of drawers next to her bed. It knocked over a lamp with a swish of its wings, but Ayana remained fast asleep.[break][break]

The Murkrow, with its blood-red eyes, stared at Ayana, pausing to tilt its head slightly to one side. It waited a moment before letting out a loud squawk, but Ayana only rolled over in response. The Murkrow grew annoyed and flew over to the smaller lump in the bed, pecking it with little regard for power. It had been tasked with delivering a message from HQ, instructing Ayana to meet someone of great importance for a mission.[break][break]

Now, Ayana waited on the edge of a water fountain, slightly irritated and wondering who she was meant to meet. She hoped whoever it was would show up soon so they could get on with the mission.[break][break]

This unique café promised its visitors a safe haven, where they could turn their wildest ambitions and fantasies into reality. Upon entering the cafe, one would be greeted by a brightly painted ground floor, dotted with table-clothed tables, each adorned with soft cushions and comfy beanbags. [break][break]

The room boasted a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for guests to relax and pursue their dreams.During the colder months, the cafe's patrons could huddle around one of the few kotatsu tables, which emitted a gentle warmth from beneath their tables. If guests sought solitude, they could retreat to the silent area tucked away in a darker corner of the cafe. [break][break]

The second floor of the building boasted a balcony that received ample sunlight through a magnificent stained-glass window. A plush sofa was perched on the balcony, beckoning visitors to bask in the warmth and enjoy the stunning view. [break][break]

Overall, Ayana had crafted the room to be a good mix of comfort and a place where people can work to meet their dreams and of course, she would do her best to assist anyone. Ayana sat behind the counter; drinking her first coffee of the day. [break][break]

Adorned in a bright red samue and a kimono skirt. “Oh yeah, that’s so much better!” The cup pressed right to her face as she savoured the last few drops. “Now, I’m ready to greet the day!” She said. Jumping up, rushing to the doors and swinging them open letting the warm sunlight sweep in.

The Hunt for Spicy Peppers!

[attr="class","lyco2"]Ayana entered a vast and vibrant forest that appeared to stretch for miles. She sighed in wonder as she stepped forward into the thick canopy of leaves. After a while, she heard a rustle in a nearby bush. [break][break]

Excitedly, she exclaimed, “Ooh, there's something in the bushes! Come out, wise critter of the forest, and let's do battle!” Ayana jumped backward, trying to strike an epic superhero-style pose, but almost slipped on a gnarled tree root.[break][break]

The “something” emerged from the bushes, a little wooden ball half-painted red with large white eyes and a prominent brow. It tilted from side to side as it observed the excited girl.[break][break]
“Okay! Let's do battle! Go, Nasu!” Ayana called, tossing a Poke Ball she had pulled from her pocket. Nasu, her Gengar, appeared at her side and looked down at the Voltorb with an imperious gaze.[break][break]

The Voltorb seemed unimpressed by Ayana's words and prepared to roll away back into the safety of the thick undergrowth.[break][break]

Ayana called out, "Shadow Ball!" Nasu lazily raised its hands and fired a ball of black, spinning ghostly energy. The attack burst at the base of the Voltorb and sent it spinning up in the air. It came back down seconds later, looking dazed but ready for a fight. The little orb began to charge up for its own attack, crackling with electricity.[break][break]

Nasu turned to Ayana, seeming to say, “Are you going to do anything, or is it up to me?”[break][break]

However, Ayana was lost in excitement and posing, gibbering to herself. Nasu couldn't help but wonder how this girl was a serious and respected police officer. Shaking its head, Nasu raised its hands again, palms flat, and gave the Voltorb an intense look. A wave of energy seemed to fall from its eyes as the Voltorb charged at the Gengar. The Voltorb slowed mid-roll, then stopped, face down in the dirt with its eyes closed.[break][break]

It let out a slight snore as Nasu made a little cough, as if to say, ‘done,’ and Ayana looked up. “Yay, we did it!” She pulled out a green Poke Ball from her other pocket and threw it at the sleeping Voltorb. “Come on, catch it, catch it!” Ayana danced in excitement as she waited for the capture to take place.[break][break]
