“S-stay near me,” he breathed out, not realizing that his breath was misting and fogging up the closer they got to where… holy shit on a stick.

See, this exactly was why he was against having these strange ‘power spots’ so close to civilization—the size of the one they’d approached was massive, and at the helm of it all was an angry, angry Froslass…

“Oh, come on—alright, fine!” he grumbled as this time, he threw out his Charizard, Ravana—better than his Salamence since they were going up against a Ghost-type that was also part-Ice.

“Go!” he yelled and the Charizard opened fire on the Froslass with Flamethrower, while on second thought—his Magmortar also made an appearance, who then opened fire on the Froslass as well with Thunderbolt while he recalled the Braviary for his safety!

“Miss Elise, can you help hit the strange glowing thing for me while I distract the Froslass?!” he exclaimed as he tilted his head in the direction of the ominously-glowing spot that was empowering the Froslass as it brought down a Blizzard around them.


↠ Work with a partner(s) and utilize pokémon moves with a base power equal to 350 (Flamethrower 90, Thunderbolt 90)

It wouldn’t take too long before even Miss Elise herself had gotten jump-scared; what was up with these heebie-jeebies anyway!

And that was saying something, all things considered since he knew that she was something of a spoopy expert (like his partner)!

For even her to be taken by surprise meant that they were dealing with something else that was most likely out of their league—

“I hope we’re not dealing with some kind of… some kind of supercharged supern-natural threat,” he whimpered quietly. Today had been nothing but terror so far.

The good thing was that he was with Miss Elise, so hopefully they’d be able to get out of this without too many problems…

That was, until he spotted something up in the skies. Huh. Weren’t those… weren’t those aurora borealis exceedingly rare, and even then, only sighted in the farthest northern parts of the world?

“Y-you think we can find something over there?” he suggested as he tilted his head in the direction of the ‘northern lights’.

“J-just. Stay close, o-okay?” he continued as he squared his shoulders… he didn’t want to look like a sissy in front of her!

And yes, they would be addressing the little ‘love life problem’ once they got the hell out of here.

“You know what I want?” he hummed once her companion had managed to take care of the heebie-jeebies and they were left pretty much alone.

“I want to get an even bigger bowl of ramen. Ugh. Maybe mushroom ramen will work, too,” he groaned as he had to resist the urge to paw at the ice like it was some kind of…

And then he very nearly leapt out of his skin as he was literally frightened—scared shitless—but a specter that suddenly popped up out of nowhere and scared the bejesus out of him!

Quite literally, a spectral jump scare in more ways than one.

Rest in pepperoni pizzas, Bird.

Once Kyouya had finally found a place to alight well away from the avalanche, he let out a sigh of relief.

“A-as long as the heebie-jeebies stay well away f-from us, we’re good,” he breathed out as he recalled the Braviary; the better to give him some rest. Because who knew what he would be busting out next; in case they needed to make another quick getaway!

“You know…” he continued once they’d managed to get a move on from where they’d alighted, “…I wish we could find a way out of here.”

Nothing about making a practical wish every once in a while, right?

(Plus answers as to where all that snow had suddenly come from!)

With the way there were icicles that were forming, seemingly out of the powdery snow that had very nearly buried them, he shook his head.

“I wish I had the answer to that, Miss Elise!” he sighed as he redirected the Braviary to fly somewhere safe so that they could touch down for a landing.

Hopefully there would be no more snow coming from out of nowhere, because dang that was terrifying.

“Are you okay?” he asked his companion; he noticed that she may have been more than just a little bit nervous…

With the way she joined him in wishing for something warm, it certainly helped take off the edge from his nerves while his Hydreigon continued to huff like an idiot. Geez, what was wrong with his human companion anyway?

Getting all scaredy-cat like that just because he was next to a—

The rumbling noise gave the Hydreigon a split-second warning before he roared in their direction, which made him look up from what they were doing and—

“Are you kidding me?!” he all but screamed, his voice going up several octaves as he realized what was about to happen.

Split-second thinking was needed here, so he quickly recalled the Hydreigon; and summoned his Braviary who let out a surprised squawk at the sight of the snow headed their way!

“Miss Elise, get on Kyouya’s back, now! I’ll follow!” he yelled.

Once he was sure that she was on his back, he immediately followed—despite the second squawk he let out once he’d clambered behind her, a light nudge from his foot made the Braviary fly upwards; barely missing the snow that would come crashing down where they were standing a few moments ago.

“Please hold on tight, Miss Elise, I’m going to try and stop the avalanche from up here!” he continued as he fumbled around for something in his pocket.

A few moments later, the Braviary had a funny-looking ‘hat’ that looked like a cutaway mushroom… before the avianid Pokémon dropped a Rock Slide attack in an attempt to mitigate the snow!

“Hang on!” he yelled as he braced himself while the boulders continued to rain around them; hopefully it would be enough for them to eventually land!

“I c-could do with some hot chocolate right about n-now,” he shivered quietly; right as a cold wind blew around them. Hoping that they weren’t just being lured to their doom, he sighed.

“H-have you n-noticed… like, any way we c-can get out of here? Or are… or did you get lost when you came out here to explore?” he followed up a few moments later while he was rubbing his hands together.

Child of the cold he might be, however fact of the matter is that even he got cold at times…

What with the temperature change hanging sharply in the air, truly, it was the holiday season around Hoenn.

And for a place that prided itself on being extremely tropical, well…

Why was there snow all over the ground?! What the—oh, that’s right, Hoenn was now turning into a hotbed of the strange and weird!

He could only sigh and facepalm at the sight of snow on the ground. How was it sticking, despite the region being on the tropical side of things?! He would never know.

Honestly… why does it feel like more a silent night with all this snow around… he thought with a sigh as he looked around, before pulling out a pair of binoculars to check what avianid Pokémon he could find this time around.

Surely he’d be able to find them, right?
