And then he appeared.

The young man I had seen tumbling down the street was entering the Pokémon Center accompanied by a man. Dahlia, the other receptionist, exchanged alarmed glances with Prince. The boy didn't look well at all. Because she was able to think much more quickly than her coworker, Prince took the lead in the initial service.

"Good morning, trainee nurse Garrido. What's the boy feeling?" she said, waiting for a reply. "Are you his father?" Prince asked the man as a hospital stretcher arrived for the boy. The trainee nurse put her hand over the boy's forehead and it was really warm."I'm just going to check... Oh Arceus, you're burning up." the woman exclaimed.

With a quick glance, the other receptionist called the head nurse's office to request emergency care. Looking at the boy, who seemed to be having some trouble breathing, she tried to support him so that they could breathe together. "Yes, take a deep breath. That's good. Now let it out slowly. That's it, that's it. Again." She kept her hand gently on the boy's chest, "Yes, very good. Calm down, help is coming. Tissy, I'm going to need you."

The fragrance pokémon came out of its pokéball ready for action. The dewott out of its pokéball was still making some moans of pain, so, with a wink from Prince, the aromatisse used her Aromatherapy to calm the pokémon down and, consequently, the boy. While they were waiting for the head nurse to arrive, Prince tried to get the care forms. The sweet scent spread throughout the entire reception area in a pleasant and comfortable way for everyone who needed a little care.

"This little guy here I can take good care of, but I'll keep an eye out for... Absalom. A pretty strong name, I'd say." Then she turned to the man accompanying them, "And what would your name be, sir? And do you know how the dewott got injured?"

She knew she was late and that the head nurse would probably bring it up. As soon as she entered the Pokémon Center, a sea of people were waiting for medical attention. She was in charge of reception that morning, along with Dahlia. Her coworker smiled when she saw her colleague arriving.

"You're five minutes late" she said, smiling.

"And you're minding your own business" she whispered back, joking with her colleague.

At the counter, both young women tried to pass out the forms for anyone who needed medical attention, human or pokémon, as they would soon be sent to their respective halls.

It wasn't long before the head nurse arrived at reception. Her eyes fell on Prince, judging her in disapproval. The young adult swallowed dryly as the respected nurse approached her in search of the attendance sheets.

"Everything is well organized. I like it that way." She stared at Dahlia for a few seconds and then her eyes fell on Prince again. They looked heavy. "You could look a bit better, couldn't you? I advise you to go to the bathroom and wash your face and fix that awful hair, Miss Garrido."

"Yes, ma'am." she replied.

As much as she wanted to slap that dear lady in the face, she knew she had to keep control. In less than two minutes, the young woman had washed her face and fixed her hair. Agility was something the head nurse appreciated. On the quick walk back to the reception counter, Prince remembered seeing a young boy who had fallen ill on the way to the Pokecenter. Would it have been better to have helped him? If it had been her son... Now she was really worried. Today was going to be one of those days for Miss Garrido.

Her hand lazily found the alarm clock and turned it off. Prince sighed. If only she had five more minutes of sleep... No! She jumped out of bed and, pulling her hair into a messy bun, headed for the kitchen. Mom was on!

Three days' worth of dirty dishes were still in the sink. She grabbed an old toaster, plugged it into the nearest socket and, after buttering two slices of bread, put the slices in. The almost empty fridge reminded her to do some grocery shopping before she got home. She sighed again as she looked around. 6:40 am. With no time to lose, she pulled up her sleeves and started cleaning the kitchen.

6:55 am. "Shit, shit, shit!". The toast was burnt. At least the dishes were washed, but there wasn't that much time left. 7 am. She set off for Xavier's tiny room and sat down next to him on the bed.

"Come on, son. Time to wake up."

"No..." he whispered, "Did you burn the toast again?"

"Just two." she smiled.

Pops woke up, lazy as every morning. He was the only one who slept outside his pokéball, given his need to be Xavier's protector. While Prince bathed the little one, the fire pig pokémon peered out of the living room window into the hallway. Pops was always like that.

7:30 am. Xavier was already eating two new pieces of unburned toast, while the lost ones went to a hungry Pops. She had less than thirty minutes to be ready for her traineeship. While she showered, Xavier already took the initiative and, after eating a piece of toast with cheese and handing the second one to Pops, went to his small room and packed his backpack. 7:55 am.

"We're late!" she ran around grabbing her bag, shoes and earrings "Let's pack your backpack, quickly."

"I've finished, Mom. Pops helped me." the pokémon smiled proudly.

"Did he? Well done." she smiled "Got your underwear?" Xavier nodded "Toothbrush?" he nodded "Afternoon snack?" he nodded again "Look at you, you're already a handsome boy. Now let's go, I have to drop you off at school." Pops always accompanied them outside the pokéball, a good protector. After the long walk, Prince left Xavier at school with a kiss on the forehead and a goodbye. 8:25 am. She was late. What would the head nurse say again? She headed for the Pokémon Center as fast as she could.

PRINCE GARRIDO

Prince is THAT girl. She never gives up on her dreams and aspires to a decent life for her son. Like any mother, she is overprotective of her child and makes a point of sticking to her quick routine with him. She works two shifts, leaving time in between to pick up her son from school and put him to bed before going out to leave him in the care of the brave pignite. She doesn't usually trust the neighbors in the residential complex where she lives, choosing to treat them with the minimum cordiality required for good sociability, but it's almost impossible to escape the gossip.

CURRENT PLOTS

I BELIEVE IN YOU
Xavier is only five years old and all this change of region is not easy to understand. Prince has to deal with the little one's questions, the need for grandparents and the lack of old friends. Meanwhile, she has to focus on her internship as a nurse and her night job at the city club.

SEEKING:
Trainers who need medical attention are welcome. As well as people who want to enjoy good drinks served by a friendly waitress with a good mouth, to make a good impression. Residents who want to enjoy a good night out on Verdanturf with a young woman who is full of responsibilities and wants to drink and chat.
BELIEVE IN ME
Like any woman with a strong personality, Prince has been through a lot. Struggling to raise her son on her own, she avoids talking to her colleagues or acquaintances about her past, since Xavier's father is a bastard and treated her like a trophy. Looking to an unusual future, Prince wants to give up the nightlife and just work as a nurse. Only two years to go...

SEEKING:
I thought about the child's father being connected to the ROCKETS in some way, but nothing very solid. Perhaps someone interested in taking advantage of her vulnerability alone, dropping hints about her past and making her do dirty jobs. Or even someone who can be a shoulder to lean on in her troubled journey.
