together, they approach a pokemon that appears to be a xatu. it doesn't seem to be anything special, but priam is keen on ignoring it in lieu of the conversation between him and hitoshi if it wasn't going to do anything.

"you've come to the right place, cause i'm the best goddamn tutor there is!"

he puffs his chest and strikes it with a closed fist. the pride mellows down quick as he finds a point of convergence with the other grunt of the organization.

"it's funny, y'know, cause i only learned about the basic stuff at rocket too. i think they took me when i was, like, the age before they teach ya how to read at school. told me i gotta learn how to read if i was to be a messenger and stuff back then."

the past has been something he's forgotten, but he'd find himself slowly coming to terms with it after coming out of the cave that formed on route 120. they say time heals all wounds, and it felt like he spent twenty years to recover from his past.

...the past that the xatu forces onto them in his mind.

"hey it's like-" his own mouth autocorrects his next words. "-the prophecy, right?"

it was nostalgic, but with a memory fresher in his head than both the civil war that occurred in kanto and rocket's initial invasion of hoenn.

he procures a guzzlord from his arsenal, using its massive body both as a weapon and a shield against the onslaught of enemies that find their presence adverse.

"it's different, i suppose, but it's still similar!" he crouches behind his guzzlord, covering his head as it clears a path with dragon rush. "does this mean we'll get another war too? wait, is this scene something we'll experience in the future or has this happened already and i just wasn't aware?!"

with a cock of his head, he motions for the admin to follow after the ultra beast, whose sheer presence manages to intimidate soldiers due to its alien appearance and its voracity.

"the fighting's thinning out over there! let's go!"

the sensation of falling isn't new to priam. multiple times has the ground beneath his feet given in to plunge him to a freefall, but perhaps this was for the best in this scenario.

as he reaches for a pokeball for a pokemon to slow down his descent, he finds himself dropping on another floor before he could. quickly, he flashes a light, and notices they're in another room once again.

eyes catch familiar symbols on the walls. words of deep meaning were written in unown, and while someone would have taken a while to decipher them, priam does so easily like it was common letters.

"the more there is, the less you see," he repeats subconsciously. "that's not a riddle we need to solve, right?"

before priam can think more about what to think of it, he notices an exit. "hey, let's go out!"

"this is the rks simulation," he answers plainly to isaac. "those are the same thing!"

to get out was to solve the conflict in the scenario they are projected into. if they were locked in a room with a spiritomb, the best way to deal with it was to, well, deal with it.

"besides," priam looks around the sea of flames, "i don't think we can get out even if we wanted to."

he pumps himself up for a fight, much like earlier. he pats the arcanine on the side before giving it a slap on the backside. "let's go all out, arckee!"

it kind of hurts since he's a rock-type now, but there was no regrets.

the pokemon roars, and rocks were sprayed to the direction of the spiritomb in a form of a rock slide. although the spirits navigate through the attacks, it was ultimately the keystone that gets snagged with the rubble.

left with little choices, the spiritomb enacts its destiny bond. as priam's arcanine prepares a final blow, ever so enduring against the grim connection set by the spiritomb, a shift starts to take them out of the scene.

"keepin' up? oh, just study the material before goin' to the field!" it seems like a given, but there was a lot who don't.

he crosses his arms as his eyes watch the glowing pokemon celebrate. this certainly did not happen in their reality despite the tree being in the middle of water in sootopolis. then again, it was sea water.

"the bosses really like doin' their own thing, y'know, like nabbin' shards and shit, so someone has to meet the prompt for them. that's where we come in and show off."

priam likes taking souvenirs from the battlefield as well, though his was more of an afterthought than an objective in itself. the reason he hadn't last time was because he already was seemingly gifted one.

the pyukumuku gets recalled as priam continues to talk, ushered out of the glade by the pokemon.

"oh, and don't get in the way when they're tryin' somethin'! we get a chance to show off once they run outta juice, which really happens a lot."

priam claps, the more rambunctious kind like a child would do as opposed to a slow clap, at the display of exorcism was showing.

"are you, like, an expert exorcist, bro? this shit looks so scuffed but you're onto somethin' here, i can tell! it's like, y'know, when people are stuck in an island and they're being resourceful and stuff."

as much as he runs his mouth off with compliments that barely meet the reality of the situation, priam himself takes isaac's side of trying to exorcise the spirits. a pokeball releases an arcanine whose form has been distorted by distortions.

"hey, watch this! i saw these on one of the shrines before!"

it was a shrine that they had found inside the tree of life that grew in the middle of sootopolis, albeit the statues they saw were growlithe variants instead of arcanine.

the pokemon spews out flames, burning the surrounding tombs and whatever clung on them, be it dried flowers, used candles and mementos left by the living.

"i bet there's, like, incenses left on those too," priam proudly claims as an inferno surrounds them and the spiritomb. "that's exorcism-y, right?"

the avatar of reshiram wasn't big on the spotlight like the others did. priam knew of his identity from working with the league labs before, but nothing much outside of that.

whoever he was, it's apparent that the underboss has some sort of grudge towards him.

"this is news to me."

together, they assist the brother of ideals in shooting down the other dragon. the victory was most likely scripted, but it wouldn't have ended in any other way with them skewing the favor to zekrom's win.

awarded with the stone, cillian hands priam the artifact for him to examine.

"do you think both zekrom and reshiram will turn to balls too if we kill 'em?" he asks. "other legendaries definitely don't do this, though."

he had experienced the death of at least two of them to know.

this had been one of the first runs he's had. he had been too immersed that it didn't occur to him that they could have another go around. it definitely changes the way on how the game works if that was the case.

"then i guess we go for this!"

priam takes out a pokemon, joining the fight with long-ranged artillery that aids the younger brother. a grueling fight would eventually end with their victory and the reward was bestowed.

he waits for the rocket beast to take it in their stead.

"do you plan to just... give this to us?" he asks, confused. "that's so weird, dude. like why? are you, like, outta your mind? oh, well. who are we to deny your gratitude, right?!"
