Suddenly, you think see a hovering UNOWN in the corner of your vision but before you can confirm its presence, it disappears. Turning back to the man, you notice that he too, has vanished... into a rift.

"hey, what a coincidence? i was just-"

he stops with cillian's reaction. bloodlust was expected from the underboss, but surprisingly, so was restraint. the thing that priam questions the most, however, was his reaction.

"since the drk triad wanted to kill 'anomalies' like avatars and such, while the hexenzirkel are trying to get those anomalies safe, would that mean they're on opposite sides?"

priam continues to babble on as cillian takes the bet for them.

"then again, the father winter on that rvl game did seem to want to protect us too. is he part of the hexenzirkel too instead of the drk triad? those are a thing, right? like the flip-floppy agents. i heard from one of the reports that there was one."

priam's musing was just that, background noise that fills in the scene while the actual choice was made in the foreground. as much as he can make stories out of works of fiction from the games they've played, it was ultimately just fiction at the end of the day, regardless of accuracy.

priam's experience in electronics involved watching others doing it and learning nothing. they looked cool though, and he even has his own personal project with the previous head scientist.

at this point, he's pretty sure his mecha t-tar is never going to get fixed.

he looks around the workshop with the underboss. his previous meeting with her was pleasant, though he heard that her temperament has changed ever since becoming avatar. whether that was an effect of the ruinous beast or power getting to her was going to be unanswered for the longest time.

after all, no sane person would ask that to someone.

"oh, hey! i found somethin'!"

out of instinct, he waves it up in the air like a child. the urge to toss it to her for her to inspect was strong, but priam persevered in stopping himself. instead he walks up to hand it over to her.

"whaddya wanna do with it? maybe there's a number we can call or somethin'."

the musky scent and the dusty walls of the ruins of alph was the least of priam's concern when they're transported to this place. instead, it was what was at the end of the tunnel that bothers him the most.

"s-swordie, w-what's your opinion on gettin' near those?"

once again, priam was faced in a situation that mirrors his expedition on ultra deep sea. there's a pull that entices him to go further, although he supposed it wasn't as dreadful as back then.

still paranoia haunts him. this time, it wasn't an effect of the environment.

he flashes his phone's light to the darkness, letting the weird sounds come out of its speaker. priam can't discern what had been trying to pull him closer to the darkness, but the force was there.

priam out to bring a tinfoil hat next time, since it seemed like he's weak to mental influences like this one.

once again, he has met up with the hexenzirkel. unlike the previous companion he was with the last time he ran the simulation, the one with him this time was of the opposite side of the spectrum.

"hey, hero boy," priam casually nicknames isaac after their previous experience with each other. "wanna try doing the classic 1v100 with me?"

they were outnumbered, and definitely outgunned. there was blind confidence in the invitation that they would survive this, but mostly because priam knows that this wasn't actual reality.

he turns to isaac, arms on his side as he casually brushes by the pokeball on his waist. he's ready to release them at a moment's notice for a brawl, but he checks up on his partner first.

"i haven't actually tried what happens if we antagonize them. you're down, right?"

else, priam would do it alone and then prompt the other to save him if he got the read on the person right.

"a wishing star..." priam absently answers.

he's been too familiar with it despite it being the first time he's physically seen it.

"used as a conduit to induce the dynamax phenomenon in a pokemon, although it requires a power spot to function."

priam is surprised with the practiced words coming out of his mouth, snapping him back to what he was originally supposed to be acting as. his expression shifts from somber, to shocked, to awkward.

"i think we studied this with... i'm blanking on names, h-hold on!" he crosses his arms as he tries to think deep, trying to get a realistic answer from the pool of names that comes up. unfortunately, there's none until he's forced to blurt out a name. "silph? nah! can't be him."

the vision interrupts priam's musings until words no longer come out of him. it leaves him flinched at the sight, and the next thing he realizes was that they're in an entirely different scenario.

"huh?"

the plaque gives them instructions, and priam turns around and understands the prompt. "but i was sounding so smart! i didn't want that to end too soon! i've just lost my mojo 'cause of this stupid ditto."

with a groan, priam forces himself to walk around the room, kicking and stomping on everything until the prompt is met.

"anomaly..."

the term has been passed around like a buzz word lately. he takes time to recall what other things have been related to it, but before he can get to a conclusion, eyes start appearing out of nowhere.

"are these unown?"

easily distracted, the previous line of thought had been temporarily put on hold as he watches both of them get surrounded. this was it, he thinks. priam isn't sure of what their definition of hiding was, but the threat of ending the scene jolts priam back to reality, or rather, a simulated one.

"oh, remember the nisa holo rvl route?" priam asks cillian as they succumb to a shift in the scenery. "anomalies, like ones that would end universe 820?"

before he could finish the rest of his thought, they move on to the next event.

"hehe, of course my fame precedes me," he silently celebrates when nomi's tone suggests a praise of sorts. "but yah! priam conrad, at your service."

the shift of the topic to the event at route 120 was inevitable.

before priam could go on a tirade on why he's the best person out there to help out with research due to previous experiences, the train of thought immediately shifts to what happened during their time in galar.

"strange in a way that you felt like they dreamed a whole life?" he asks. priam smiles as he puffs his chest with pride. "that ain't strange cause that's for real, for real!"

the exact details escape him, but he knows deep down that it's true. he has an image to keep in this world though, so whatever feelings manifested during that dream, it had to be kept locked down again.

"i was a pretty damn good astrologist in that dream of mine! astronomer? anyways, betcha no one else knows constellations like i do!"

the kiss on the cheek instead of the lips is observed, but instead of taking it any other way, priam reaches deep in his bank of optimism and makes an excuse for bryan.

"aw, that's so pure of you!" he teases. he pulls bryan by the chin and plants his own over his lips. "when did ya get so cute?"

and priam, more forward.

he leans back on the edge of the pool, propping himself up by the elbows, as he stares at bryan. he scoots over, making room as a gesture in case it wasn't clear enough.

"it's only been like a few hours, bry." he gets him though. "what's wrong? you don't look relieved."
