Adele's unceremonious reaction to his words elicits a snort of his own, but he's fortunate enough to escape the same slimy fate. "What the fuck was that?" he chortles. "I can't believe you don't know how to swallow." A pause, before a childish grin splits his face at the double entendre. [break][break]

That hug felt way too short, and one part of him hates the other part for missing the contact already. [break][break]

Despite his identity having been Aris for the past decade, Ezra's mere presence feels like it peels the blond away. It's weird to be standing in the middle of Icarus and yet feel like he's nowhere near here.[break][break]

He moves to lean against the table at which Ezra takes a seat, almost perching on the surface, and regards him with another sarcastic smile. "For you, my friend, the gonorrhoea is on the house. I know how much you love it." He notices the look shot towards his Eevee and he raises his eyebrow in judgement. "What the fuck was that? You look like Dora just insulted your family cow."[break][break]

Sydora's ear perks at the mention of her name, but she only spares her owner a brief glance before her nose is bumped against the Rattata. She blinks in surprise, and she flinches further when a little hand finds its way into her fur. She backs away and baps at 15's arm, lightly smacking it away in disdain.[break][break]

Aris observes the whole interaction and stifles a laugh. "Well, now she did." Sydora hates having her fur touched, especially by strangers. She's proud of its softness and prefers to keep it that way, a trait she inherited from watching Aris fuss over his own hair.[break][break]

The blond spreads his arms, gesturing to the busy club around them. "What do you think? It's booming. People love drinking and they love doing it in a place with good taste in alcohol and entertainment." Aris adds the last part on purpose, smirking at Ezra.[break][break]

"Anyway, wanna get away from the crowd? I can barely hear your squeaky voice over everything else."[break]

"Yup." Unfortunately. Aris can't recall ever meeting Bryan, but it's not surprising; for the past couple of years, he's barely shown up at HQ since the club takes up most of his time, and to be quite frank, he's not complaining. As a grunt, managing Icarus gives him a sense of privacy and freedom that is otherwise difficult to attain in his position. [break][break]

Bryan doesn't seem too bad, though, and the sight of the offered beer works to lift his spirits. Hopefully, this shift will go by uneventfully. [break][break]

Aris takes the bottle in hand and seats himself next to the man, one leg propped up and bent at the knee. Nalia sits beside him, vigilant as always. "Aris. Don't think we've met before." He takes a sip of beer before placing the bottle down and offering a hand for a shake.[break]

Onis, sensing that there is now a surface closer to him than the ground, jumps off of Aris' shoulder and onto the countertop. He starts to sniff around at the things lying around before picking up a compact mirror in his mouth, jumping onto the ground and trotting up to Melody. He looks up at her with the same wide eyes. Maybe she wants this as well?[break][break]

Aris rolls his eyes at his Pokemon. "Onis, leave the nice lady alone."

Aris glances down at his shopping bag. "No berries. I don't even have much food on me except for some chocolate and cheese. Would they even like those?"[break]

Aris almost scoffs at her reasoning, but he holds his smile in place.[break][break]

Can't argue with it? Does that mean they have no choice but to give up, surrender and go along with time's whims? Is it only time before he's caught and uprooted from his current life, the one that he built for himself, and is he just supposed to be okay with that? [break][break]

Aris glances down at the Pokemon pawing at his arm and chuckles. "How cute." He refuses to end up like them.[break][break]

Gaze land on Yuina again. "Time's choice, huh? I suppose we can only hope that time doesn't turn its eyes on us, then."[break][break]

Sydora wiggles around in Aris' hold but gives up with a little yip and drooping ears when the man shows no sign of letting go. So, she turns to her new friend and looks at her with her big, baby-doll eyes, asking the Zorua to find her a way out.[break][break]

Aris calls over the bartender as he speaks to Yuina. "Might I suggest our signature cocktail? It's a light drink with fresh pinap essence and some pleasant notes of ginger, quite perfect for a casual night out." He waits for Yuina's answer patiently and informs the bartender accordingly.[break][break]

"It's quite stressful if I'm being honest," Aris admits with a small, airy laugh. "But it's worth it. You're right, every night I get to meet wonderful people such as yourself, and every single one of them is an adventure to be cherished, if only for that night. Working in a place like this is never boring."[break]

He glances down at Nalia, who looks up at her owner with an inquisitive and hopeful gaze. Aris sighs and nods, unable to resist his Houndour's request. Out of all of his Pokemon, she's been by his side the longest as his most loyal and protective companion, and yet she has never asked for much in return. He can push his dislike for battles away this one time. "You're right. Let's do this."[break][break]

Nalia immediately jumps off his lap and trots towards the open floor, and Aris stands up from his seat. "I'm very rusty so please don't expect much," he informs the woman with a chuckle and follows Nalia.[break]

He looks around the interior of the turbine and tries to make any semblance of sense. There's a ladder that leads all the way to the top of the structure and Aris can only assume that that's where the meat of it all is. "Whatever the issue, it must be up there," he nods towards the top. "I hope you're ready to climb ten stories."[break][break]

Aris certainly isn't, but he walks up to the base of the ladder anyway.[break]

The familiarity of the new voice amongst the chatter of the club calls for his attention more than the words themselves. Aris' eyes are quick to flick to the source beside him, and they widen at the sight of his former colleague.[break][break]

"Nora." He shifts his position to face her completely and a smile brightens his face, but his mind starts to run through excuses. Aris remembers how his last month at Bellamy's had been; frequent sick leaves, zoning out during work, and keeping his conversations short. It was the month he had officially been recruited into Team Rocket; he had thought he'd be able to handle a normal job alongside his tasks as a grunt.[break][break]

"I might have to if they don't catch up," Aris chuckles lightly. The Eevee on his shoulder hops off and onto the bartop. "Arceus, how long has it been? How have you been?"[break]

Aris can feel the non-existent rays of discomfort radiating from beside him as if he's sitting next to his Skeledirge using Overheat. But, he doesn't shy away from it; he's ready to fan the flames and roast some marshmallows.[break][break]

"Oh?" Aris prompts, quirking an eyebrow in judgment. "You always blame me for your mistakes. A conversation works both ways, smartass." No point in holding his thoughts back if they're not going to do so, either. [break][break]

To be honest, Aris agrees. Both of their words flow freely behind the safety of bright screens and anonymity, and he'd much rather go back to that freedom if Adele is going to look constipated each time they meet in real life. [break][break]

Though, admittedly, he does find their distress amusing.[break][break]

Aris observes their sloppy munch. He hasn't ordered any food for himself and is quite content with the beer in his hand. "What's making you so nervous? Never talked to a hot guy before?" he questions, batting his eyelashes dramatically.[break]

He has no qualms against blood-stained punishments, except for when it comes to three people in his life. Usually, he'd hesitate to cause any real damage to Cato, but Aris can't help but feel like he deserves it this time.[break][break]
