She squints curiously at him, for starters. "-of course it's not a playground," she retorts with a nod, though she has no different term for this kind of occurrence. "Actually, what is it, then?" Chrysanthe asks, a little stumped - nearly forgetting over her pendant, that must have fallen into the water - or the depths, or blown somewhere else entirely ... She looks around, taking in the sights of wreckage and ruins. "What is happening-?"

A lot of things happen in the span of moments - seconds, or the fraction of such, enough that she doesn't quite process the steel beam falling, nor the Decidueye swooping in to save her, or the voice that preceded this. Or, the loud explosion. Chrysanthe only presses the Munna closer to her body, knuckles turning white, as she closes her eyes tightly. But ... what about what she lost-?[break]

It's only when the loud sound is only a mere memory that she slowly opens her eyes, one after the other, as she looks at the dual type with confusion - shaking, shivering, though she doesn't seem to acknowledge it herself. "W- huh ...?" she mutters to herself - before her gaze wanders around hastily, in panic, as she tries to locate where she must have lost her pendant. But - where is it now-? She hasn't fully registered the head ranger's presence just yet, absorbed in her own thoughts. "My- my pendant ..."

Hiding back behind in the shadows, Chrysanthe is frowning at her sister's words. Well, there may be some truths and logic here, but there is still a clear sense of dissatisfaction; in most any other cases, she might have as well ignored those words, but there is always a little more lucidity when she speaks to and with her family. ... Well, sometimes, anyway. "No, I can't leave without-" she mutters, holding the Munna close to her as she only watches how Cassandra's Pokémon fend off the Pelipper - and even manage to fetch the pendant from high above! But ... still, it's not good enough.[break]

Perhaps, riled up from the battle, the Pelipper are returning for a second round, looking a little more aggressive than before. "Watch out-"

Chrysanthe is snapping back into life as the Charmander is coming back alive, too, jumping and running around. There is still some drowsiness left as she rubs her eyes and yawns, but ... right. There is actually something to do. Still, she pats the Munna with a gentle smile, nodding, "you did really well!" Now, though ...[break]

Attentively, she listens to Katharina's words, nodding every once in a while as she thinks she got a point. A safe space, so ... but there are no blankets to use. What else, then? "Hmm ... I see ... Come on out, Doireann! Please see that nothing and no one will disturb us? Oh, but of course, aid those in need," she instructs the Mawile that appears out from his Pokémon. Knightly, he nods, venturing off to secure the perimeter. To Katharina, she asks with a slightly tilted head, "so ... how do we exactly build a shelter, then? We don't have blankets ..." Sincerely oblivious that the nurse might just be nodding off from Munna's humming ...

The young girl is - fortunately - not moving an inch, even though there is the urge to go further into the deepening shadows. But the lure of bubble tea is getting her by the minute, as much as it distresses her as well because how could she leave without 'it'? From where she stands, only so much is visible of the other person, but ... oh, wait, that ... rings familiar. Oh, right. "Does that make you like a knight?" she asks instead of supplying much else.[break]

It's only after a few more heartbeats - each second emphasised with the sound of wreckage somewhere further away, drawing just a little closer with every passing moment, like thunder and lightning - that she finally reveals a little more of why she is where she is, instead of waiting for a safe rescue. "... my pendant. It's very important ... I can't leave it behind ..."

Thankfully, her sister is quite able to make quick work of the steel structure, it falling apart soon before it could fall even further down the ground with its full weight, possibly breaking apart the platform they are standing on right now. But even so, it has only worsened the state of the building itself and driven her further from the pendant that she just can't leave without. What to do, what to do ... "C-Cass - I'm! I'm okay," they move to pat the other, though, walking carefully over her just when she notices something in the corner of her eyes. Oh ... so those are ...[break]

Quietly, she is ushering her sister towards the nearer edge of the building, crouching down. That's unpleasant ... quite so. "I don't wanna be seen by those Pokémon ... they took my pendant first ..." she mutters to herself, a frown on their face as she looks at an approaching group of Pelipper.

Temporarily leaving the Munna out of the grip of her arms, Chrysanthe is quick to agree to the given task, smiling at the Charmander gently as she takes a towel. "There, there ... it's all going to be okay now. I'm not going to hurt you. Do you want me to sing a lullaby?" she says softly, one word after another as they come and go. There isn't much meaning in them beside the notion of hope, a fragile and delicate thing woven into syllables, as her eyes also watch how Katharina is treating the Pokémon.[break]

The Munna, too, is joining with a little song, making the student and the Charmander feel likewise a little drowsy, maybe ... But it's nice, with the Charmander that gets warmer by the minute ... hmm ...

There has never been a worse time to lose item after item, wondering and wandering around as she strays from the frantic individuals that are only here to help. She doesn't mean to make the situation worse, but ... there is the tunnel vision that prevents her from seeing further than the eye within her mind. No further than the sunlight illuminating the lost streets of a sunken castle.[break]

Pressing the Munna close to her chest, she furrows her eyebrows as she looks around. It must have slipped in here ... she saw it when she was riding the boats earlier, but it seems harder than ever to find. Still, her feet are striving forward, shadows enveloping her figure as she doesn't seem to listen to much of the fallen hubris around her. Until she hears a voice - rather unfamiliar, perhaps heard in the shuffle in a group of rangers, and ... huh?[break]

"Bubble tea?" she halts for the first time in a while, shouting back - she doesn't quite see the figure just yet, but backtracking on what he said ... "But ... but it's really important - I can't leave without it ..."

To be quite honest, she has gotten ... a little used to this place. She is still wandering, seemingly in search for something, excruciatingly stubborn not to leave just yet. Yet, her composure is the same as usual, tinged with a fascination for the broken world around her. By now, her Mawile is accompanying her, too, growling and grumbling menacingly in case any unknown creature comes close. And this time ... "I swear I left it somewhere around ... here, maybe?" Chrysanthe mutters, finding it quite difficult to discern the landscapes from one another. But she can't just leave her notebook here ... It's probably soaked and broken beyond repair by now, but she still wants to salvage what she can.[break]

Before she can advance her search further, though, she hears a familiar voice - her name being called in a way she mostly only hears their mother calling them, when she is rather displeased. It's strange to hear it in that voice when ... "Cass? What are you doing here?" she looks around, surprised - then quite happy to see her sister. She just wants to run towards her when she feels like a force is holding her back, and then-[break]

Her eyes grow, a big chunk of steel fell from above and is now separating the two ...

Logic would dictate that she should really be elsewhere right now. Her logic dictates that she can't leave without having found her pendant again, like a curse, an item necessary for plot progression - or a good-luck-charm she can't do without. It's a beloved piece for sure, an uneasy feeling filling her as she wanders around, uncertain where it might be. It seems to be quite some luck that she isn't getting into much danger on her way throughout the debris ...[break]

Furrowed eyebrows, she thinks she locates ... something ... Something seems to have gotten stuck at a kind of steel construct falling apart, thick wires of metal sticking out like bared fangs, and one delicate item hangs up loftily. "Oh ..." she mutters to herself, watching above as she reaches out a hand, holding her Munna with the other - tip-toeing, like she is quite used to by now, considering her height and all, but ... well, she is falling several inches - if not feet - short, yet keeps trying as she loses her balance-

This person is quite funny, Chrysanthe surmises. Though she wouldn't say that she'd get everything that she was saying, it was ... fun, in a way. "Okidoki!" she simply replies to the other, however, giving her a bright smile as she decides to go with the flow. Which, in this current moment, is going with whatever the other might suggest doing. Which, for once, is not to disappear.[break]

Instead, she is coming closer to the other, nodding to her words as she watches curiously over the injured Pokémon, a slight frown appearing on her face. "How can I help you?" Chrysanthe asks, looking quite dissatisfied with the situation. This isn't how the world is supposed to look like! "And it's fine, I can stay here for now - I think?" Dimly, she wonders where her sister might be - didn't she mention going to meet with a friend? Hmm ...

As soon as school is over, Chrysanthe zooms to the nearest bookstore. She only has so much time to lose between her last class and the start of her next extracurricular, so those are rare moments that she can use for something else. Luckily, she already packed some pastries to eat on the way to the bookstore, so she also wouldn't have to show up hungry for photography lessons. Moreso, it's unfortunate that she has to sacrifice her bubble tea run for a book, but ... "We really waited for this one, hm?" she muses to the Munna in her arms, as she enters the bookstore. It also doesn't seem like there is much going on, so hopefully, she'll be able to check it out quickly, too. Definitely quicker than most queues in bubble tea stores ...[break]

Scurrying over most precisely to the shelf she needs to be, her eyes seem to sparkle upon the sight of the book she has been waiting to buy for weeks (okay, maybe days ...). Always passing by without being able to get to it, and not wanting to ask any of her siblings for help this time. The problem is only ... "That's pretty high up," Chrysanthe sighs. But, hey, maybe, if she goes on tip-toes ... Keeping the Munna in place with one arm, as she stretches the other one up, it seems like a far reach still. Urgh, but ... just a little more ...!
